Once a year everyone across the globe is sent one letter from their future self. This includes all ages whether their 80 or 18, even babies are sent ones.
Most letters people receive change every year, but not all of them are good even some of them can ruin how their family and friends judge them for their whole life.
Unfortunately that was the case for Two time.
The moment Two time turned 8 their parents told them about the letter system. Two time was ecstatic as they were gonna be shown the letters they've been receiving for the last 8 years, their parents keeping it from them until they were old enough. But the moment Two times parents did show the letters to them, their dreams.. Were crushed instantly.
The 8 letters only said the same thing.
'Don't fall in love with them."
Them? Who? But that didn't matter because the moment Two time was done reading the letters their parents explained to them that their forbidden from dating anyone ever unless the letter changes.
No exceptions...

Two time groaned, their alarm clock beeping loudly enough to wake a whole neighborhood. They threw their arms towards the alarm clock, knocking multiple old soda cans and chip bags off the nightstand before their hand finally connected on the alarm clock, shutting it off and saving Two time from their miserie.
Sitting up Two time rubbed their eyes, looking around their slightly messy room.
It wasn't too messy, yeah some clothes on the floor, food on the nightstand, but Two time always makes sure to throw it all away when they leave their room to get ready for school.
Blinking rapidly Two time reluctantly sliped their feet off the bed and crosses over to the bathroom, picking up the clothes on the floor and throwing them into the laundry basket as they pass. When they make it to the bathroom they switch the light on, the bright light Making them groan more and cover their eyes as they lean against the sink.
Finally getting their eyesight back they take in the sight in the mirror. They now have dark circles under their eyes, not that they never had those to begin with but they seemingly gotten worse after the new years Eve party from the night before. To be honest they don't even know why their parents throw a party to begin with. Every year is the same letter. The same 'don't fall in love with them' bullcrap. Really? Their future self couldn't specifiy a hair color or even a gender!?
Sighing Two time knows they can't do anything about it, all they can do is watch as people fall in love without issue, watching people dance with their partner at parties while people avoid Two time like the plague because of their stupid letter.
But would life be easier without the letter system? No. Two time would still get bullied regardless of their letter, heck it's easy as hell to hide their letter, most of the time people only don't like them because their 'weird' and 'creepy' but Two time can't deny it at all, their own parents think their weird tail and head wings are strange and creepy. It hurts but if you live with that for your whole life, you begin to believe it's true.
Yeah it's easy to hide a letter but rumors spread fast in school, so Two time wasn't surprised that practically everyone in their high school figured out what their letter has been saying for the last 16 years,also people are hella nosy with the letter system.
"Two time are you ready yet, your about to miss the bus!" Two times mother calls down from the living room, her tone laced with annoyance.
Their mothers voice instantly snap Two time out of their pondering and they realize their not even ready yet. Quickly brushing their hair and teeth, getting some toothpaste on their shirt, they rush back into their room and swing open the closet door. Quickly scanning for their school uniform their mothers voice grows more frustrated. They find it and change into it, tripping more then once before getting it on correctly.
Two time races down the stairs, backpack slung on one shoulder, one shoe on and the other they are trying desperately to get on. They see a flash of yellow stop in front of the house and they say bye to their mom and dad before running out the door.
Catching up to the school bus they step up the stairs, awkwardly fixing their school uniform and greeting the bus driver before finding their seat and slouching in it, tired from their frantic get up, choosing to ignore the giggles and whispers behind them. As they drift the sleep.
At least they tried too before feeling the bus jerk forward, making their face slam into the seat. The giggles behind them increase and they just groan and stay awake.

The students pile out onto the school entrance, Two time being last as they know someone will trip them if they walk down those stairs or at least pull their tail, which is the reason why they trail and head wings are always curled up.
As they step down onto the pavement they catch the bus driver giving them a sympathetic look before it drives off. At least the bus driver cares.
Walking through the halls they make it to their first class, sitting down at their seat and waiting for it to begin. Their seats all the way in the corner,not that they chose it but the teacher did after hearing what their letter said. As if they'll have a crush on a teacher.
Everyone piled in and the bell rang, signaling class has started, but instead of the usual the teacher makes a announcement that a student will be joining the class. Two times classmates seem excited, giggling and whispering to each other About the new student but Two time could hardly care. It's just another person to bully them.
Class actually begins and Two time tries their best to pay attention but they can't help but keep thinking about the new student. Why are they feeling like this? Anytime a new student joins Two times first thought is that they will bully them, because they most likely will. But why are they suddenly caring now? Maybe their just sick.
A few minutes later the door opens and the supposedly new student walks in. Two time looks away convincing themselves that it's just another jerk to bully them but hearing the other students 'Oos' and 'Aas' Makes Curiousity get the better of them, they finally look towards the new student and.. Goodness are they glad they did.
"Class this is our new student Azure, I hope you all make him feel welcome and remember that he just joined, try not to overwhelm him." but overwhelm the new kid is exactly what the others seem to do. Everyone asks him questions,his hair cut,outfit, everything really.
But Two times not paying attention to any of that, their only attention is on how pretty he is, how soft his hair seems, his beautiful purple eyes, how you can tell he's well built, his magnificent brown hair with a purple iris flower in his hair. He's absolutely perfect and as he answers Two times peers questions.. His voice just sounds as lovely as he is.
Two time immediately stops being in Dreamland the moment the teacher says Azure can sit next to them, the rest of the class hold in their disgusted expressions but still send nasty looks toward Two time. Azure smiles and crosses the room to sit next to them. It makes sense that the teacher would say that, there's no other available seats.
As Azure settles in the teacher continues class, but no one is listening as Two times classmates are either staring at Azure or glaring at Two time. Two time themselves aren't even paying attention, well they never do really but now their really distracted by Azures presence by keep glancing back at him like their trying to memorize his face before looking away.
Before anyone knows it the bell rings and people are filing out of class,Two times the last to leave as they wait to see where Azure goes, they hear him mention something about 'botany'
Botany club?
Two times heard of the club before but they've never really been interested in plants,sure flowers were pretty but never really their thing, now it just might be because of Azure.
But it's selfish to join a club just because of a person, I mean what if someone actually wants to get in it and their taking up a spot? They can't imagine doing that, but they wanna become Azures friend and figure out if he'd judge them or not and either way Two time feels this pull towards Azure they can't explain.
Thinking of a plan Two time gets one, they'll approach Azure in the hallway and ask him for his phone number, explaining that the teacher has a project for them to work on together. Azure seems nice so they're sure he'll accept. It will be awkward at class tomorrow since Azure will most likely ask them and the teacher about the project, but they'll cross that path when they get there, for now they need to find Azure.
Oh right the botany club.

Class is just about to begin when Two time makes it just before Azure was about to enter, but they quickly stop him.
"Hey um.. Sorry to bother you but the teacher from first period assigned a class assignment right after you left, and we're partners.. So um you know I.. Need you phone number?" Two times voice shook as they spoke, scared out of their mind of Azure's response.
Azures looks at them in confusion for a bit, before smiling.
"Really? I didn't know and sure, Im busy after class so I wont text immediately but be free to text me. " Azure pulled out his phone and Two time Does the same, the two talk for a bit, getting each others phone number before the bell rings and Azure goes into the club.
Two time sighs in relief, glad to realize the plan worked, until they realize their next class is halfway across the building..

Getting off the bus Two time can't stop thinking about Azure, how they have his number, how they'll text eachother from now on. Two time walks into his house, going up the stairs still daydreaming but stopping when they hear their mothers voice.
"Did you fall in love today Two time?"
Those words hit Two time like a brick. A cold reminder of their letter.
How could they possibly forget? That was the only thing they were told not to do for their whole life and now they just forgot about it for a guy? This is dangerous, what will happen?
But Azure isn't just any guy, and anyways who's saying the letter is talking about Azure, it could be anybody really. But the letter still makes Two time hesitate about all of this, that Azures a mistake.. They can't fall in love..
Despite this Two time says no to their mother and runs back up to their room, slamming the door shut behind them. Stepping inside their room, Two time glances at their phone. Azures number on it. A reminder that they've fallen in love.
Two time glances at the letters then the phone, back and forth until they make a solid decision.
They're not going to let some letters decide what's best for them, they're not gonna let some letters make rules for them.
The letters say 'don't fall in love with them'
So they'll go against that.
