Chapter Text
Cassandra just got home from her college and arrived around 7:30 pm at night, mentally exhausted from a 3 hour lecture, "Finally homeee..." She grumbled. She took off her shoes and placed them neatly on the shoe rack with the socks stuffed inside of the latter. She scanned around the living room, ’Empty..... huh guess my parents aren't home yet’. Her parents had been away to live temporarily with her other relatives for important matters, and that she lives alone for the meantime, at least in a few days.
She stood up and went into her room to undress herself and quickly switch with her favourite yellow-hooded pikachu pajamas with pockets, blended perfectly for cozy comfort with its playful charm, featuring a soft, pastel-yellow fabric and a hood shaped like Pikachu’s iconic ears.
She bought it from online shopping, though it was quite expensive, it was worth it. Checking the time from her phone; 7:35 pm, ’huh, it's only been 5 mins.’
’Hmmh....what should i do now?’ She pondered for a moment deciding what she'll do for the next few hours.
’I still have 2 assignments that I need to finish off for tomorrow though....’ She groaned in annoyance. She pursed her lips a little and tapped her fingers repeatedly on her checks, and thought for a moment.
’Ah, screw that, I'll just do that tomorrow.’ she shrugged and lazily set the bag aside on her bed, and stepped out from her room. "I needed a break for once in a while" she muttered to herself.
"Y'know what? I'mma just gonna play Roblox, just to pass the time, but first....." she muttered under her breath. She strides towards the kitchen then picks up a small red mug, its red color with a speck of glitter around it, glistering under the kitchen ceiling lights.
She then set it on the countertop, picking out a brown coffee sachet from the shelves. Using the scissors that were laying down on the empty cupboard to tear the sachet open and pour the powder into the mug. The scent of coffee powder passes through her nose, she hasn't poured the hot water yet and it already smells good.
Feeling a bit of satisfaction, she then scoop a spoonful of brown sugar to add a bit of sweetness in her coffee, and dump it inside.
She spotted the big pink thermos beside the water dispenser, lifting it up slowly, 'geez, I forgot how heavy this shit is-, I must've poured too much water in it this morning'. She twirls the lid and plucks it out from the opening and slowly pour the hot steaming water over the mixture. She slowly sets the thermos aside on the kitchen counter and closes it back using the lid. Cassie then hoists up the silver spoon and stirring slowly until the brown liquid turns smooth and aromatic, filling the kitchen with a comforting and invigorating scent.
She smiled in satisfaction, ”okay now i just need my snacks then play some games, hehe” she checked around her kitchen shelves to see if there still were some snacks left.
“Jackpot!” She took out a big yellow potato chips named «Honey Butters» while standing on her tippy-toes. “Come on, almost-- There we go!” happily celebrating in her mind, she successfully got a hold of it and now it's time for some gaming session.
She cautiously grips the coffee mug with her honey butter snack on her other hand and stroll her way to her bedroom. She carefully settled her hot coffee mug on the nearby table and plopped down on the bed. She took out her phone and turned it on.
”Hmmh… should I text my friends to play with me?” she paused for a moment. Cassie still pondered if she should ask them or not. It's already night time though and Josh is probably busy with her part time job. Then, there's Andrew. Her other friend. He lives in another country and it is already morning on his side. He's also busy because of school, so that's a NO, either.
Oh well, she's just gonna have to play by herself, as usual. She tapped on the Roblox app and swiped on the screen with her thumb, looking for any games to play.
”Hmmh…. should I play Doors?...hmhm nah-, too boring to do it solo. Maybe, Tower of hell?” she paused.
” ….Yeah nope- I'm not good at parkour and it's a ragebaiting game. Hmmmhh…99 nights in the forest? obviously no. Since I have no one else to play with and I don't trust the other players in that game.”
She kept swiping until someone caught her eye. ”Oh, I know! Dandy's world!” she pressed the icon and immediately joined in the game. The familiar sound of a bell chimed in as her character loaded on the screen.
As of now, her character is a somewhat tall red toon with what seems to be a strawberry shaped-head with green leaves as a hairdo. The character has a star-shaped chocolate ribbon clipped on its leafy hair and wears a chocolate-berry themed outfit with a huge chocolate bow behind its neck. And it has a big smile on its face.
”Hmmh…who should I play as?...”
Cassie checked on her “toons” inventory and kept tapping on each of her purchased characters, still deciding on whether she should play as a solo toon or play as a distractor/extractor in a random matchmaking run.
”Eh, no what?”
She clicked on a fluffy square-shaped head toon profile and selected him. Then, she looked up on the “skins” selection and chose the “Neapolitan; Ice cream” as her go-to favorite Goob skin. With her two trinkets; veemote and Dog plush on the slots.
”I wanna go for a random matchmaking run for the night…andddddd also being a distractor!”
”I’ve been grinding hard just to get him. And also some of the mains as well, obviously. But he's totally my absolute favorite distractor toon! He's just too cuteee!” She squeals a bit and rocking her legs up and down, while laying down on her bed.
”Alright, let's do this.” Cassie started to move her character with her thumbs on the phone screen and made him move towards one of the elevators, then went inside. She joined in a random matchmaking game and waited for it to load. While waiting, she picked up her small red mug and took a sip from it. Putting back the mug to the table and resumed back to her phone.
It finally loaded.
There are around 7 random players joined in. 2 Cosmos, hmmh well, not bad. 1 Loey, a semi-distractor would be very useful when needed as a backup. 1 brightney, hmmhh she's not too sure about that since brightney has a horrible stealth. It'll be difficult to distract if she's around but she's quite useful during blackouts. Hopefully, she won't be a problem. 2 poppies. She sighed, it's probably newbies. Then, lastly there's 1 Shelly. Okay, okay, good. At LEAST they have one main in the run. And of course, Cassie is the 8th one to join in.
She bought one bandaid and one medkit at the pre-shop, beforehand. Just to be sure, since who knows if she or the rest of the team get lucky enough to get bandaids or medkits during the run.

Cassie could feel her blood boiling up inside. Eyes narrowing at the phone with a slight twitchy movement in her left eye while hastily moving and swiping her thumbs on the phone screen.
”Are you fuckin' kidding me?! Bro! Get out!” Cassie exclaimed, even though she's alone in her room. She moved her character to encircle around an opening area with 5 twisteds trailing her from behind. A brightney user just happened to approach out of nowhere a few seconds ago and moved past her, which ended her up at one heart. They're already at Floor 16 and there's only 3 of them left.
Cassie sends out a Brusha sticker with a text saying "Stay away!” for the 8th time in the row. But she accidentally bangs her character on a stupid crate and ends up getting killed.
A game displayed a text that said; ”That’s a wrap!”
….
She let out a frustrated sigh and picked up her mug again and drank the caffeinated liquid in it. She licked her lips a bit, then set it back to the table again.
”Alright, let's try again. Joining another random matchmaking run.”
_______________________
It's been hours and she kind of already lost track of time while she kept on playing on her phone.
She already played a different matchmaking game for the 9th time in a row. Her potato chips had already run out with all that's left is just an empty plastic. Her coffee is almost half empty. Cassie took her mug and drank the last few drops of her caffeinated drink, then set it back to the table. Cassie waited for her game to load…
It finally loaded.
There's only 5 players who
joined in with her. 1 Gigi, 1 Sprout, 2 loeys, and 1 toodles. Okay, not a pretty bad matchup team. And as always, she bought one band-aid and one medkit just in case. All of them are ready for the first floor.
As the time counted down from five….four…3…2…1…the mechanical sound of the elevator opened up. All of the players scattered around.
It's the Projector room.
She moved her character and wandered around the area, scouting for some twisteds around the place. She picked up one yellow candy on the way and found 2 of the first twisteds upstairs. Her character ran up to the projector area where the screen shows a toon with 2 heads that look like a tragedy and comedy mask.
The twisteds are boxten and shrimpo. Easy peasy.
She kited them towards her and encircled around the couches. Cassie continued to move around and round like a carousel until she heard DING! noise from one of the machines, followed by 3 more of them. Then, a loud mechanical noise rang out and the elevator opened, with the sound of a ticking of time. Immediately, all the other players ran towards the elevator with only 20 seconds left behind. She moved her character to run as fast as she could to the elevator, alongside with others. And finally went inside.
(30 minutes later…)
~2:28 AM~
As she continued to kite the twisteds around her, while her team was busy doing the machines. Her vision started to get blurry, her head was throbbing in pain like something is pounding a nail on her left side of the head. The brightness from her phone screen is making it worse. She stopped for a brief moment and massaged her forehead with her other hand and tried to continue on with playing.
Her head ache became increasingly worse that she's unable to concentrate on playing that she has to stop. She stops her character and lets itself get killed by one of the twisted, the familiar “That’s a wrap!” text is shown. Cassie quickly turned off her phone and placed it on the table.
~2:30 AM~
”Fuckkk…it hurts so bad. I…I need to get some medicine…just–... need to..” she sat up and almost got out of her bed but…
”--go to the…bathroom…I..” the excruciating pain in her head was so unbearable that she's unable to stand up properly and made her feel light-headed that she just immediately passed out on her bed.

”Uuggghhhh…..” she sluggishly opened her eyes with few blinks. The brightness of the ceiling light shines reflectively at her face, making her wince from it and immediately close her eyes and turn her head away.
”Ugghh…what the hell?...” she slowly stood up from where she laid down and wearily scanned her surroundings. The place is a large colorful room with a navy blue wallpaper with rainbow stripes in the middle. 2 pallet racks in front of her with one fell on the floor at the side, multiple wooden crates scattered around.
She paused.
“Wha-...w.what?”
The place feels familiar to her…it's as if it just–
”Wait…this place…isn't this…. Dandy's world? Wha- why am I…”
Cassie tilted her head and kept glancing around the place. This place is almost an exact copy of that game she literally played a few minutes ago. Did she get kidnapped and dragged in a prank show or something? And weirdly, her body feels so strange for some reason. She sniffs something and suddenly scrunches her face, trying not to gag out from the weird metallic and musky smell in the air. She tried to cover her nose(?) from it, then paused and instantly looked down at her…..claws?
”HUH?!” she exclaimed and took up a few steps back.
2 large paws with different colors on each, the left one is dark brown while the other is cotton candy pink. Both have sharp claws on them.
”No…this…this can't be.” Panic gripped her chest as her eyes darted left to right frantically around the room. She rushed towards the nearest window right away to see her own reflection.

A tall fluffy creature stared back from the glass. It had a square-shaped head framed by a large poofy fur around its neck, resembling a fluffy collar. Long, noodle-like limbs dangled beneath its body, ending in sharp claws that looked capable of tearing through paper or wood with ease. Perched atop its head sat what appeared to be a broken ice cream cone hat with a melted ice scream on it. The distinct variations of colors of it are; dark chocolate brown, cotton candy pink, and pearly white all around it. The entire creature looked strangely dessert-theme, almost whimsical at first glance. One thing for sure is that there's a thick mass of black goo coating both of its legs. The substance slowly dripped onto the floor with sickening plops. It looked wet, cold, and its viscosity was slightly thicker than ordinary water. With a few black goo stains on its fur as well. She also has sharp teeth too! The one thing that got her attention is… the eyes.
Unnatural scarlet red sclera, glowing like fresh blood beneath the light with deep pitch black pupils. The same black goo thing seeped from the corners of those eyes and flowed endlessly down its face like an eternal stream of tears. The reflection stared directly back at her.
She slowly raised one of her arms and touched her face. She felt it. ”Wha…w…what .. h..how ..” she stammered, unsure if this is real or if it's just a mere dream. She slapped herself on the check. ”Ow! Okay so not…a dream.”
Cassie stared at her own reflection again. Her mind still processed everything that just happened. Then…. everything clicks.
”Holy…shit. Did I seriously get Isekai'd in Dandy's world?!?” she exclaimed.
”How is this possible?! I thought Isekai was just a fictional thing on the internet!....”
And what's worse is that she was transported in the game she just played moments ago.
”Did…I…did I seriously just die in my sleep?!” she huffed out
incredulously.
She shook her head and inhaled for a few seconds, then let out a long exhale. Relaxing her new body(?)
”Great…so I apparently became one of the Twisteds. Especially as a Twisted Goob!...” Cassie mumbled to herself. Realization suddenly popped out from her head and quickly looked back at her reflection at the window.
She doesn't remember a Twisted Goob with Neapolitan skin, before. Most Twisteds just look like the originals, only difference is with Black ichor covered on them and are hostile. So…how come she looks different?...Was it because she chose him, dressing up like that during her gameplay?...
’It must be that!....’ she thought to herself. Finally comes the conclusion that she became the twisted version of Goob with the Neapolitan ice cream cosmetic theme she equipped on him.
”Wait…..does that mean that I–” before she could continue on to her self-rambling. A low guttural groan echoed from outside, accompanied by an unsettling gurgling noise, the sound was getting closer. And judging by the increasing volume, it was heading inside the ‘out of order’ elevator area with her in it.
Her heart began hammering against her chest, without another thought. She immediately ducked in and hid behind one of the nearest crates. The thick black goo that coated her legs splattered slightly on the floor as she crouched down. As she carefully took a peek around the edge of the crate to see what it was or who it was from. A weird toon with the head shape of a purple music box, eyes bloodshot red, and two black arms protruded out from inside of his boxy head. Its body jerked and twitched randomly, doing these weird spasm movements, especially its head. And it's coming this way. ’It’s Twisted Boxten!...wait…shit…I'm not prepared for this!....I know how to play it, but only in the game! Not in real life!...’ her claws nervously dug into the floor.
She quietly sneaks away on the other side while crouching down, but accidentally bumps into that one singular chair. ”Ouch!” She winched in pain and caressed her squarish fluffy forehead. Then, a foreboding shadow loomed over her, she looked up and saw Twisted Boxten stood in front of her, staring intensely and completely motionless.
Cassie couldn't move. ’Shit! I got caught!...’ every survival instinct in her body screamed at her to run. But instead, she remained frozen. The black ichor dripping from her legs pooled beneath her feet unnoticed. Back then, it was supposed to be just a silly game she'll play, whenever she gets bored. Now, it has become a reality for her. If she dies here, especially in the most humiliating way possible. She'll die for real, again.

For what almost feels like a minute has passed with them having a staring contest. Twisted Boxten simply turned around and walked away, continuing wandering around, leaving her completely alone. Cassie sat down on the floor with her body relaxed for once and sighed in relief.
”Oh thank God.” she tilted her head back against that chair.
”I thought I was gonna die— wait…”
…
”Oh my god, I'm so stupid.” She dragged one of her paws down on her face annoyingly and carefully, not ending up poking her eyes with her sharp claws. ”He didn't attack me, probably because, I'm literally one of them.” she groaned in annoyance.
”At least, I'm safe from the Twisteds for the time being.”
Now that she thinks about it. She pushed herself up and looked back at the window for one more time and studied herself clearly. Still processing the fact she literally became the twisted version of her favorite toon. Since toons are quite shorter than average height of people, Cassie feels even more shorter than she was before. Which kind of annoys her.
She lifted both of her paws at her eye level. The fluffy appendage hovered before her face. It felt weird for her. Her paws are somewhat heavy to lift, especially her arm is whimsy and noodle-like, literally with no bone structure or no joints in it. Just long floppy limbs. Cassie experimentally waved one around, the arm bent in a really weird inhumane cartoony way.
”Okaayyyy…that's really cursed.” By every law of human anatomy, it should not be capable of doing that. For her, the sensation was difficult to describe. It feels numb, yet at the same time not. The movement simply lacked the familiar sensation of muscles pulling against the bones. She flexes her claws and turns her paws around, just to be sure.
”Hmmh…I can move my arms, but it might take me a while to get used to this.”
The continuous drops of ichor, the black goo flowing down slowly from her eyes that she took notice of now. She doesn't feel gloomy or upset enough to cry at all. This isn't even her real tears and she couldn't control it. Cassie tried wiping the excess ichor tears from her face. The liquid smeared across her paw.
”Eeewww...it smells like dry blood!...” (Technically speaking, it is blood from the Toons.)
She flicked it away, then a stream of ichor is still flowing out from her eyes uncontrollably, even though she's not feeling like crying for real at all.
”Seriously?...” she said with a deadpanned look.
She wiped them again. But more ichor is still coming out.
”Oh Come on!...”
She tried it again for the third time. It happened again. She sighed with an eye twitch and mumbled, ”Nevermind…. I'll handle it later.”
”And I seriously need a bath..I smell like crap…” she numbed that last sentence.
She walked out to the left side and began exploring around the place. The projector room is huge, especially the open wide area in the middle. Her red eyes widened further with each passing second. This room stretched far beyond what she had expected. Massive navy blue walls surrounded the place and decorated with rainbow stripes in the middle, and a lot of crates scattered around. A gigantic white screen suspended above a raised platform with couches and several sets of stairs. There's even the image of razzledazzle showing on the screen, flickering from a few stairs ahead.
She left her mouth agape and couldn't help but feel in awe and amazement in this place. Though it's true that the Garden view and each floor is quite large in gameplay. But she never expected how massive it would be to see it in real life. The place would've been more amazing if it weren't for the musky scent and the eerie silence in the air.
’Eughh...this ichor on my legs is making me uncomfortable!..’ every step she took, produced soft squelching sounds from the ichor coating her legs. Almost like wearing very soaked long socks and wandering around.
She went up stairs to take a closer look and she noticed there's a red ribbon thing that encircled something near the other room on her left side. From her peripheral vision, she could see Twisted Boxten wandering and lurking in the hallway towards the other room, closer to the broken elevator that she just woke up from.
”So me, Boxten, and Razzle & Dazzle…” She placed her paw gently under her chin.
’Okay, damn. My hands (paws) are too heavy from lifting it up for too long.’ She relaxed her shoulders and lazily flopped her arms down as both of her paws rested down on the floor.
’Hmmh…now that I think about it. If I became Twisted Goob. Would that mean…” her gaze wandered around the environment and spotted a yellow bean bag. She planted her feet firmly against the floor, prepared her stance and stared at the object.
”Wait, what exactly am I supposed to do?” she hesitated for a brief moment.
The game never explained how the hell Goob actually stretched. Players just pressed a button, then voila.
Cassie sighed, ”Okay, it's worth a shot. Hmh, I wonder if I can….” She lifted her arms and purposely tried to stretch out and also imagining her arms extending, testing if her ability would work. And it did.
Her limbs stretched far as it literally got and reached out the yellow bean bag with her claw.
Her eyes widened and felt like her jaw just dropped. ”WOAH!”
Immediately, she pulled her arm back with a snap like a slinky and got launched backward down on the floor by the force with the yellow bean bag she just grabbed as it slammed directly at her face. ”Oof!”
She sat down on the floor with the yellow beanbag on her hands (claws?)
”Okay, that was awesome!” she grinned widely and got giddy from the excitement.
”I wonder if there's a cooldown with it as well?...” she mumbled.
Cassie steadily stood up while holding the yellow bean bag and placed it neatly back to where it was from. When she looked at the room again, she spotted the familiar machine beside the doorway, with the red light on top of it. She paused for a second, then she slowly approached the machine, carefully avoiding the red ribbon thing from the Twisted Razzledazzle. Cassie stared at what's in front of her, thinking about what to do.
’So this must be the ichor machine. Huh, it looks more rusted and old compared to the ones in the game.’
She raised her paws a bit and gripped on the slightly rusted valve handle and tried to turn it to the left like a steering wheel. Seeing that it didn't even budge. She starts turning it to the right, then it begins to pump out ichor from the top. Cassie continued to turn the handle to the right with a slight difficulty since her paws are too big and heavy. It's no wonder that Goob in the game has a two stars extraction speed. The valve had a few bumps and rust on it, making her feel the abrasions under her big paws. Not only that, the machine was old and rusty so it sometimes made occasional creaking noises.
‘Wait a damn minute. How can I do a skill check?.... There's literally no way a bar with golden and white stripes is just gonna pop out in front me. So…how?... Is there some kind of mechanic thingy that I have to do?--”
Then a slight vibration in the handle snapped her out from her thoughts, the machine was shaking, except. She could feel the vibration increasing its intensity and–
!̠B̠̠E̠̠E̠̠P̠!
Cassie flinched and backed away from it. The shaking stopped but the loud error sound was heard, making it a problem for it to attract a random Twisted to–
She turned her head and saw Twisted Boxten running upstairs and rushing towards the machine. She quickly took a few steps back, then she saw the Twisted Boxten walk past her, completely ignoring her and go to where the machine was. The T. Boxten just stood there, doing nothing but staring on the ground.
After a minute, T. Boxten slowly moved away and went to his exit path while shaking his head.
Cassie lets out a small trembling breath.
”Okay. That was a failure…..”
She looks back at the incomplete machine, ”There’s literally no manual on what to do if a machine suddenly shook a lot.” she huffed out in annoyance.
Then, she had an idea…..
Well, 2 ideas if one of them doesn't work. ”Okay…Maybe I'll try something.”
She approaches the machine again and starts spinning it to the right, once more.
She watched as the ichor poured down and accumulated inside the glass capsule, almost at 15%. Then, she felt the vibrations from her hands (paws) again. She kept spinning it to the right, waiting for the machine to shake intensely
When she could feel the valve shook really hard and almost felt like it's unscrewing itself. She immediately forcefully turned the valve handle to the left in almost 180° turn until she heard a small click noise, she quickly turned the handle back to the right. The shaking stopped and more ichor flowed down in the capsule as it continued to fill up the machine up to 35%. She stopped for a brief moment.
”So it did work! Haha, knew it! I guess I don't have to do the other option then…”
A triumphant grin formed in the corners of her mouth.
She placed her paws on the valve again and continued to spin it on the right.
It took her around 2 to 3 minutes to finish the machine as the ‘DING!’ Noise was heard from it. The red light thing on the top had turned to green.
”There we go!” She stopped and looked around to see if there's other machines in here as well. ”I wonder…what happens if I complete all of them?---”

She held her breath for a moment. ’This….is A LOT to take in…’
’Woah…so I have one extra star per stat?! That's so overpowered and super useful!. That means I'm almost faster than Pebble or Looey. I like it’ she continued to scan over her current menu and read the rest. ”Huh ...wonder why my heart is upside down and it's also black?...and my stealth stars are black as well” she mumbled to herself.
’Hmmh….these abilities really are overpowered and are quite useful— wait… kill a Twisted? Eh?! I can do that?!...’
She winced at the thought of killing something alive or maybe HALF alive is really disturbing for her. She never imagined killing someone in her life. But…she's in another world and this is literally a live or die situation. Does she have to?
She shook those thoughts away and continued to scan over, ’Oh, trinkets? Do I still have them?’ She looked over her body and patted herself to see if something happened. She tries to imagine one of the trinkets while keep searching on her body, then–
She suddenly took out a green remote from the left side of her waist. Her pupils dilated and her jaw(?) drop in surprise. How's that possible? She doesn't have any pockets, bags, or anything at all. It just appeared straight out from her paws when she imagined taking it out from a re-imaginary left pocket near her waist. Cassie tried putting it back to where she patted from then it disappeared.
’Woah…so I have some kind of magical inventory. It works if I imagine it while pretending to pull it out? Cool!’ She was pleased with the outcome.
’So if the trinkets slots worked and are on my left. Would that work for the item inventory too? Is my item inventory on the right side?...’
Before she could ponder on any longer. A loud mechanical sound whirred from the elevator. She looks around in panic and tries to take off the floating screen with her paws but it just goes through it like a projector.
”Come on get off get off get off!!”
With one last thing that comes to her mind.
”Uuhh!...uhhh…Stats off!”
The floating text finally disappeared and she immediately ran and hid behind one of wooden crates, and took a slight peek from the edge of the crates.
The metallic door opened wide and there were a bunch of cartoon characters coming out from the elevator.
Her eyes widened in surprise and tried to suppress her urge to squeal in excitement.
’Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh!! It's actually them!...the Toons! Holy– I can't believe I get to actually see them for real! And not just in the game!..’
A green TV head toon was oddly tapping her microphone tail, while some of the toons scattered around. The TV head toon looked surprised and furrowed her face in suspicion about something. The magenta lamp Toon approached the TV head toon and talked to her as if asking about whatever it is. She couldn't hear them properly.
As she was busy watching them while hidden, she suddenly felt a presence beside her. She slowly turned her head to see who it was.
It was a small toon with a head shaped like an 8-ball and was wearing a white jacket-dress?
It stared at her with shock and genuine curiosity.
She stared at the tiny toon back.
