Summary:

How do you give a gift to someone who has given you so much? You plant a garden, obviously

Notes:

This work is written for the PHM Big Bang Opposite Day Reverse Bang! I was asked to write poetry, which I have never done before, and it pushed me out of my writing comfort zone a bit. Overall, it was an interesting experience. And please admire the AMAZING art created by darlana that was what inspired this work

Darlana's Art

I’ll plant a garden for you

I’ll tend it well and watch it grow

You’ll see the world in a way I can’t

But I will watch

When the ‘green’ leaves sprout

And the ‘blue’ blossoms bloom

They are things that I don’t understand

But I’ll do it for you

I know you miss where you came

Even though you call this world your home

So I’ll plant a garden for you

You say it’s undeserved

But you deserve so much more

And we’ll rest here in your garden

Finally at peace

We’ve spent so long together

You’re as much a part of me as I am you

You tell me I’ve done so much already

I say “is not enough”

Because nothing will be enough

And that's why I plant this garden

I plant it for you
