Preserve The Weave

Summary:

A single choice shall end his days,
Olympus to preserve or raze.
Percy Jackson chose to preserve.
Olympus endured.
The Weave did not.
When the Fates discover the future is collapsing beneath centuries of neglect, broken promises, ancient curses, and frayed destinies, they do the impossible: they begin again.
Nine champions. One second chance. A living Labyrinth. A system forged by Fate itself.
The goal is no longer to survive.
The goal is to build a future where demigods finally can.

Notes:

SO this Fic idea has been living in my mind for years since I read the webtoon the gamer and a bunch of time travel fix-it fics from this fandom so here you all go

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Prologue: Between the Weave

The tapestry was crumbling.

Not cut.

Not ended.

Broken.

Frayed.

Unraveling.

Thread after thread snapped before reaching its proper end.

The damage spread through the Weave like a sickness.

For the first time since the dawn of creation, the Three Fates did not know what to do.

Clotho ceased her spinning.

Lachesis laid down her measuring rod.

Atropos withdrew her shears.

Together, they turned toward the oldest darkness.

Toward the Mother from whom all things came.

Khaos.

The Primordial opened Her eyes.

The Fates bowed their heads.

"What would you have us do?" Clotho asked.

"The Weave fails," said Lachesis.

"The threads break before their time," said Atropos.

For a long moment, Khaos was silent.

Then She spoke.

"Unweave."

The Three Fates froze.

To unweave the tapestry was unthinkable.

It had never been done.

"Choose your champions," Khaos continued.

"Show them the path that was walked."

"Give them the tools to walk another."

The Primordial closed Her eyes once more.

The audience was over.

The Fates looked at one another.

Then they began to plan.

"We know the first choice."

"Percy Jackson."

"The Hero."

"The Thread that touched countless others."

A silence followed.

"We cannot place this burden upon him alone."

"Three is a powerful number."

"Then let there be three groups of three."

"The first?"

"Percy Jackson."

"Thalia Grace."

"Nico di Angelo."

The children of the Big Three.

Three threads woven together by fate and prophecy.

"The second group?"

"The mortal foundation."

"Sally Jackson."

"Paul Blofis."

Those who loved the Hero not because he was a demigod.

But because he was Percy.

"Who shall be the third?"

"Grover Underwood."

"The Keeper."

"The Friend."

"The Soul bound to the Hero through empathy and loyalty."

The choice was unanimous.

"The final group?"

"The Divine and the Prophetic."

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare."

"The future Oracle shall not be made to suffer twice."

"Apollo."

The god of prophecy would eventually notice the fraying of the Weave.

"It is only proper he knows the truth."

"Poseidon."

The Father.

The Sea God.

The ancient bearer of prophecy.

"He deserves the chance to know his son."

The nine names hung before them, written in glowing silver thread.

Percy Jackson.

Thalia Grace.

Nico di Angelo.

Sally Jackson.

Paul Blofis.

Grover Underwood.

Rachel Elizabeth Dare.

Apollo.

Poseidon.

Nine souls.

Three groups.

One final chance.

The Fates reached into the Weave.

Time stopped.

Not slowed.

Stopped.

Across Olympus.

Across Earth.

Across the Underworld.

All things became still.

Then the Nine were taken.

Pulled from their lives.

Drawn through the silver strands of destiny.

Into the space between the Weave.

A place where time did not exist.

A place where futures could be observed.

A place where choices could be weighed.

The Nine stared around them.

Infinite threads stretched in every direction.

Some shone brightly.

Others were frayed.

Many were broken.

At their feet lay a torn tapestry.

Apollo's face immediately paled.

Rachel whispered,

"That's impossible."

The Fates appeared before them.

Ancient.

Terrible.

Unyielding.

Atropos lifted a broken thread.

"You know this thread."

Percy frowned.

"What thread?"

Lachesis answered.

"Yours."

Silence fell.

Then Clotho spoke.

"We have called you here for a choice."

And suddenly every thread around them began to glow.

"A half-blood of the eldest gods,

Shall reach sixteen against all odds,

And see the world in endless sleep,

The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap.

A single choice shall end his days,

Olympus to preserve or raze."

The final word echoed across the Weave.

Preserve.

The broken tapestry trembled.

"The Hero chose to preserve."

"Olympus endured."

"The Weave did not."

The Nine stared in horror.

"Will you watch?"

"Will you remember?"

"Will you carry the burden once more?"

The Fates extended their hands.

Threads of silver light rose from the tapestry.

Preparing to show them the life of Perseus Jackson.

And everything that followed.

The Nine watched.

They watched a boy become a hero.

They watched him laugh.

They watched him cry.

They watched him carry burdens no child should have carried.

They watched him lose friends.

They watched him make family.

They watched him walk through Tartarus.

They watched him save a world that asked too much of him.

They watched seventeen years of triumph, sacrifice, grief, hope, and love.

When it was over, not one of them remained untouched.

Sally was openly crying.

Grover's cheeks were wet.

Nico looked devastated.

Even Apollo was silent.

Poseidon had never looked older.

The Fates allowed them time to mourn.

Then Clotho stepped forward.

"Now you know."

Lachesis nodded.

"You have seen the life of the Hero."

Atropos held her shears loosely in one hand.

"You have seen the cost."

The Nine looked at one another.

No one spoke.

The choice had already been made.

Finally Percy took a step forward.

"Yes."

The Fates turned to him.

"You are certain?"

Percy glanced at the others.

One by one they nodded.

Thalia.

Nico.

Grover.

Rachel.

Sally.

Paul.

Apollo.

Poseidon.

When Percy looked back, there was no hesitation in his eyes.

"Yes."

Silver threads began to glow around them.

"You shall be given gifts," said Clotho.

"Tools to guide you," said Lachesis.

"Means by which to strengthen the Weave."

The light gathered around Percy, Thalia, Nico, and Grover.

"The demigods and satyr shall be granted a System."

Windows of silver and gold appeared before them.

"It shall reveal strengths and weaknesses."

"It shall aid your growth."

"It shall guide your training."

"It shall help you unlock abilities left dormant."

"It shall help you become what Fate intended."

The four exchanged stunned looks.

Clotho turned toward Sally.

"Sally Jackson."

Ancient threads wrapped around her.

"The blood of forgotten heroes runs through your veins."

"The blood of Greek and Roman legacies."

"A heritage lost to time."

"The knowledge of your ancestors shall be returned."

"You shall read, write, and speak Ancient Greek and Latin."

"You shall remember prayers long forgotten."

"You shall preserve the old ways."

Sally bowed her head.

Then the Fates looked at Paul.

"Paul Blofis."

"The mortal who chose the Hero as his son."

A warm silver light surrounded him.

"You shall be granted Clear Sight."

"The Mist shall no longer deceive you."

"You shall read, write, and speak Ancient Greek and Latin."

"You shall stand beside your family with open eyes."

Paul simply nodded.

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare."

The future Oracle stepped forward.

"The Sight has always burdened you."

"We shall lessen that burden."

"You shall navigate your visions with greater clarity."

"The Oracle shall take less from you."

"You shall read, write, and speak Ancient Greek and Latin."

Rachel smiled through her tears.

"Thank you."

Finally, the Fates turned toward the two gods.

"Apollo."

"Poseidon."

The air itself seemed to tremble.

"You watched and could not act."

"You knew and could not intervene."

"That shall change."

The gods listened carefully.

"The Council shall not see the entirety of your actions."

"What must remain hidden shall remain hidden."

"The King of Olympus shall see enough to be satisfied."

"But not enough to be suspicious."

Apollo looked genuinely shocked.

Poseidon simply closed his eyes in relief.

The Fates looked upon their chosen.

For the first time, something that might have been pity flickered across their ancient faces.

"Your memories alone will not be enough."

"The future you witnessed is gone."

"The path ahead will be different."

"Different choices shall create different outcomes."

"Different outcomes shall create different dangers."

Silver threads began weaving themselves together.

Countless glowing windows appeared.

"The System is not a reward."

"It is a tool."

"It shall help you measure the changing Weave."

"It shall guide you when memory fails."

"It shall reveal opportunities hidden by Fate."

"It shall provide quests."

"It shall provide training."

"It shall provide dungeons."

"It shall allow growth beyond what was achieved in the previous timeline."

"The Hero survived."

"This time, you must thrive."

A vast expanse opened behind the Fates.

Infinite.

Boundless.

Outside time.

Outside space.

"You shall all share access to an Inventory."

"It shall possess limitless capacity."

"It shall preserve all things placed within."

"Food shall not spoil."

"Tools shall not rust."

"Knowledge shall not fade."

"You shall use it to prepare."

"You shall use it to preserve."

The word echoed through the Weave.

Preserve.

The choice of the Hero.

The choice that had once saved Olympus.

The choice that now might save the world.

Then the Fates grew solemn.

"Do not mistake this as a promise."

"Some threads have already been cut."

"Some fates cannot be altered."

"Some losses cannot be prevented."

The Nine listened in silence.

"But much may yet be changed."

"Many lives may yet be saved."

"The future is no longer fixed."

Rachel finally spoke.

"When will we awaken?"

"When your threads reconnect with destiny," replied Clotho.

"You shall not awaken all at once," said Lachesis.

"The Weave must remain stable."

"But you shall know when another awakens."

"You shall never truly be alone."

Then Clotho spoke one final time.

"Remember this."

"You are not being sent back to save the past."

"You are being sent back to build a future."

"Preserve the Weave."

"Strengthen the Weave."

"And when the Choice comes again..."

"Choose better than we did."

For the final time, the Fates asked,

"Are you certain of your choice?"

The Nine looked at one another.

Then, without hesitation, they nodded.

Percy stepped forward.

"Yes."

Grover smiled.

"We'll make things better."

Thalia raised her chin.

"We'll fight for it."

Nico nodded.

"We won't let the same future happen again."

One by one, each voice joined the others.

Until all Nine spoke as one.

"Yes."

"We will go back."

"We will preserve the Weave."

"And we will make it stronger."

The tapestry blazed with silver light.

Threads unraveled.

Threads rewove.

And somewhere, on a quiet beach, Sally Jackson met the Sea God for the first time.

Again.
