Lacey didn’t know what was happening to them, but there could be no denying that she was now inhabiting Calla’s body, and not her own. It was a disconcerting experience. Every time she moved it was slightly, subtly wrong. It felt like she was a step away from reality, Calla’s body being different from her own.
At least it was Calla. She could trust that Calla wouldn’t do anything terrible with her body. A few people might be confused a little, but that would be all. Nothing irreparable, nothing that would put her in danger. That reassurance meant a lot.
