Work Text:
Book sighed. The sun was just setting, painting the sky of Yoylecity beautiful hues of orange and pink. The grass felt like cushions beneath her feet, and she realises she hasn’t felt this peaceful in a while. She turned her head to look at the girl strolling next to her, subconscious to the warm smile building on her face. Her and Needle have been ‘exploring’ the city, but in reality they were just talking to each other about the competition. It was nice to reflect on the show from an outside perspective, especially with Needle. Over time, they’ve become closer than before, and now was a great time to bond over the competition, since they were both finalists. There was just one thing that was disturbing the tranquility she needed - the growing pressure in her bladder.
She hadn’t needed to go for too long, she reminded herself she’d be fine. It wasn’t persistently difficult, she just needed to shift her legs from time to time. Of course, if she really got uncomfortable, she could always just excuse herself. Not that she would even reach that point, she wasn’t a child!
“Book? You good?” Needle’s voice asked her, looking down at the shorter girl.
“Oh, yeah, of course! I mean I just won a season, it doesn’t get much good-er than this!”
“Right, just rub it in my face, why don’t you.” She replied sarcasm, though her expression was playful. Book couldn’t help but laugh.
They continued to talk, and as time passed, her desperation was beginning to creep in. The occasional fidgeting became constant squirming. She tried distracting herself, but her train of thought would inevitably lead to her increasingly difficult situation. And she eagerly hoped that her need wasn’t obvious to Needle.
“Don’t you agree?”
“H-Huh..?” Oh god, she was so focused on her desperation, she wasn’t even listening to what Needle was saying. She pressed her legs together as she tried to think of an answer on the spot. A pang of pressure in her lower abdomen caused her to almost flinch. Out of instinct, she brought her hands to her legs, though quickly bringing them back up, remembering who she was with. Her body was clearly getting impatient, very impatient.
“Book, you’re clearly not fine. You look so.. tense?” Needle stopped walking, holding her shoulders. Book’s cheeks flushed red at the analysis, along with the sudden contact. She fidgeted with the hem of her skirt, trying to avert her eyes from Needle’s.
“It’s nothing..! You just caught me off guard..” She answered nervously. Needle looked almost disappointed at how obvious that lie was. Book crossed her thighs over each other, biting her tongue.
“Well.. it’s not important. Just.. need to use the bathroom a bit.” She cursed herself for how embarrassing that sounded, hoping her flushed face wasn’t too apparent. Needle’s already gentle hold on her shoulders loosened.
“Oh, well, hopefully we find one on our way here.” Needle answered, seemingly not aware of the urgency of Book’s issue. Book nodded, the two of them continuing to walk around the city.
Book checked her wristwatch for the time. Fifteen minutes have passed. Only fifteen mere minutes have passed and yet it felt like she was going to burst. Even walking felt like a step closer to soaking herself. Every attempt at a distraction - talking to Needle, admiring the greenery, playing a game - couldn’t take her mind off the stirring pain in her bladder. Her breath hitched. She felt herself leak a bit, not visible to Needle, thank god, but still a sign that she couldn’t keep this up much longer. It took her all her strength to stop the leak from becoming a stream.
“Any sign of a bathroom yet..?” Book asked, nervousness audible in her voice.
“Not yet. Why? Is it getting bad?” She sounded concerned, her eyes scanning for any discomfort in the other girl’s face.
“You could say that..” It was an understatement, sure, but she didn’t want to worry her more than necessary, and besides, it’s not like she could do anything about it. Book squeezed her legs shut, struggling to keep still. She hoped, no, prayed that there would be a bathroom somewhere soon. She tried not to think about relief, that would only heighten her discomfort. But, no matter how much she tried, the thought of finally relieving herself kept seeping into her head. How relaxing it would feel.. She quickly erased the thought from her mind, but her bladder persisted to make this harder for her.
“Book, you tired from walking? There’s a bench over there if you want to take a break.” Needle smiled, clearly out of sympathy for Book’s current situation. Book nodded her head, the two of them approaching the beige bench.
Sitting down, Book, again, checked the time. She gritted her teeth in frustration knowing only twenty minutes had now passed. To her, it felt like years. She bounced her leg as she tried to partake in conversation, though her mind was definitely not concerned with anything but her need. Now, her initial desperation began to turn to pain. She felt herself leak again, a few drops escaping her. She narrowly caught control of herself. A few tears stung her eyes. She definitely wasn’t going to make it.
“Needle.. I’m not.. I can’t..” She stuttered over herself, both her hands placed on her lap, not daring to look up.
“Book!?” Needle yelped, bringing herself closer to the other girl. She bit her cheek in guilt, how could she let her get to this? She searched for something, anything to help her. Her hands quickly reached into her bag, pulling out an empty water bottle.
Book lifted her face up, looking at the bottle being handed to her. Once realising what she meant, her cheeks instantly blushed red, shaking her head profusely.
“Needle! I’m not using that!”
“But you don’t have anything else to use!” Needle put her hand on top of Book’s. “I don’t want you to sit here in pain.”
Book adjusted her seating position, her legs practically shivering. She looked down at Needle’s hand on hers, then back up.
“F-fine..” She stuttered, her desperation taking over her words.
Needle handed the bottle to her. Book stood up, placing the bottle between her thighs. She accepted her fate - she was going to die of embarrassment. She turned to Needle, a similar flustered expression on the girl’s face.
“Don’t look, okay..!?” She meekly told her, unscrewing the cap of the bottle beneath her skirt. Her heart was racing, in complete disbelief that she was doing this. Her hands were shaking, sweating even. The bottle was open, she could finally give in to the relief she’s been chasing for ages, and yet she couldn’t bring herself to. She tried relaxing herself, but nothing happened. She cursed in frustration - why couldn’t she just piss already?
“Need any.. help..?” Needle nervously asked her, getting up to stand behind her. She placed her arms around her waist, causing the both of them to blush.
“Can I try something? I think it’ll.. help you..?” Needle asked shyly, hoping to not put Book in discomfort. Book nodded, almost too flustered to even speak. Needle began gently pressing on her stomach, her warm hands just above the waistband of her skirt. Book quietly whined at the sudden pressure, instantly putting a hand on her mouth, her face mortified.
“I-I didn’t mean-“
“It’s okay.. Just relax, Book.”
Needle continued to push on her bladder, not hard, but just enough to help her relieve herself. A few drops leaked out of her, trying her best to not repress herself. Eventually, she let go - the bottle filling with the liquid. Book shut her eyes, trying to get this over with as soon as she could. It was pretty much silent, besides the sound of piss splashing into the bottle. Book would’ve covered her ears if she didn’t have to hold the bottle. Despite how mortifying this was, she couldn’t deny the overwhelming feeling of relief was nice. Needle being this close to her was also.. comforting? That was normal to say about a friend right?
Book finally finished, screwing the bottle afterwards. Needle released her arms away from her. Her face was practically overheating, and she couldn’t bear to look at Needle after that. Awkward, heavy silence lingered between them until Needle spoke.
“Book.. you don’t need to be so embarrassed..” Needle attempted to comfort her. She reached for one of her hands, caressing them. A warm feeling sparked in both of their chests. Was it normal for something a simple as touch to have this much of an effect on them?
“Thanks, Needle, but respectfully, that was the most humiliating thing I’ve ever been through.”
Needle tried to repress her laugh, though she wasn’t doing a very good job. Book playfully rolled her eyes at her.
“Let’s agree to never bring this up again?” Book offered.
“Hm.. maybe not never..”
“Needle!!”
