Chapter Text
“No, Shoko. I’m not doing that.” You grumbled as you rubbed your temples, she had been nagging at you all night last night and was now mentioning it at breakfast. You didn’t want to have sex, especially not after Ryusuke had called you boring in bed two weeks ago. After procrastinating all night last night, you finally gained the courage to block his profile on everything. You were done with him, or at least that’s what you told yourself.
You didn’t need him, that horny piece of shit always dragging you upstairs during your sorority events. You thought to yourself: His loss anyway, who gives a shit about him? Regardless, you couldn’t help but stalk the tall, blue-eyed blonde on Instagram; the girl he picked over you. “Seriously y/n, you need to get out there! You can’t sulk upstairs all day, and you HAVE to move on from that shit bag.” Shoko shook your shoulders as she continued rambling, making you spill a little of your cereal onto the marble kitchen island. “Shoko please, it’s too early.” You quickly grabbed a paper towel, wiping up the spilled milk and cereal bits. You didn’t wanna be reminded. Sex, intimacy, passion, relationships, it all brought back memories. Horrible memories. With Ryusuke, it was nothing but pleasing HIM. Nothing for you; never for you; you were the second option to him. It was always him trading blowjobs for gifts, gifts that you never wanted.
You were snapped out of the memories by Shoko suddenly squealing, “Oh my god y/n, I forgot!” “What?” Spilled cereal, again. Fuck my life, you thought. “Remember that mixer? With Kappa Chi omega? It’s happening tonight!” Shit, tonight? Oh my god, it’s Friday.
”Are you serious? Tonight!?” You scramble to finish your cereal, quickly placing the dishes into the sink. Taking two steps at a time, you rushed upstairs to grab your phone off of your bed. How could you forget? You were so caught up in procrastinating about Ryusuke that the meeting with your sorority had completely slipped your mind. Your phone pinged.
(KD girlz) - hime: y/n, dont worry about the meeting, Mei handled it already lol
(KD girlz) - hime: oh also, the theme for tonight is blackout, typical coming from KCO. The party starts at 6:30, so don’t be late.
(KD girlz) - mei: don’t forget either, the mixer is at their house, so make sure you all have designated drivers if you’re gonna be drinking tonight. love u guys, see u tonight!<33
(KD girlz) - kai: shoko and y/n, we won’t be at the house till later. you two are lucky u don’t have to help decorate lmaoo, you’re both getting next mixer though
You exhaled, the tension in your shoulders dissipating. A few seconds after, you could hear the sound of feet padding up the stairs before the door creaked open. “Anxious? Don’t worry, I texted Mei so she handled it. Just focus on getting all dolled up, hm? Maybe you’ll get lucky tonight.” Shoko giggled softly as she patted your shoulders, to which you replied, “Shoko.. No.”
The time on your phone read 11:38 pm, plenty of time to get ready. You rummaged through your closet, growing more agitated the more you realized you didn’t have cute clothes. I’m part of a sorority damn it, where are all my clothes? That was until Shoko poked your shoulder cautiously as she held a pile of clothes. Your clothes. “Y/n? I uhm.. I’ve kinda been stealing your clothes—“ The moment you narrowed your eyes, she spluttered “it wasn’t my fault! You can have them all back, I just kind of stopped asking! Forgive me pleaseeuh!” she whined as she enunciated the last word. You chuckled softly, “At least tell me, you ass.”
A few minutes later, you hopped into the shower. Washing your hair, you couldn’t help but consider Shoko’s advice earlier. Maybe you’ll get lucky tonight. No, stop it y/n. You sighed as you rinsed the suds off of your hair. The rest of your shower, you had a raging war of conflicting thoughts. Your brain was screaming YOU’RE GOING TO GET HURT, RYUSUKE IS GONNA BE THERE, DON’T. Simultaneously, your mind was telling you that it’d be alright, that maybe moving on wasn’t so bad. You stepped out, drying yourself off quickly before applying lotion, oil, and deodorant. For the time being, you were dressed in the typical plain outfit. A white tank top and some shorts. After all, you didn’t wanna get your dress dirty whilst doing makeup. Stepping out of the bathroom, you were greeted with the sight of Shoko sitting with her legs crossed, doing her makeup in front of your closet. The sliding panels were mirrors, perfect for getting ready with multiple people. You grabbed your hair items off of your vanity, as well as your makeup bag before sitting down beside her.
“So, have you considered my advice yet?” Shoko asked as she looked at you through the reflection. There was already a smug look on her face that said I know you’re contemplating.
“No, I’m not. Thanks for asking though, Sho” You mumbled, but you knew. You knew you were thinking about it. A potential one night stand with one of the hot frat guys from Kappa Chi Omega had a part of you wanting to put more effort into your appearance tonight. The other part of you wanted you to take it slow, heal yourself mentally before considering intimacy. You two spent the next few hours just planning outfits, coordinating accessories, calling around for designated drivers, and gossiping about the latest drama on campus. Eventually, your started to curl your hair, wanting it to last throughout the night. You checked your phone again, the time read 2:36pm.”We should probably start getting ready now,” you said to Shoko as you finished putting the last strand of your hair into a roller. Then, your phone pinged. Who’s this?
(Instagram): _unknown00 started following you.
Huh, weird. The minutes passed, you couldn’t stop thinking about that account. Sure it could just be a troll account, or it could be.. Stop. You shook your head, Shoko tilting hers in confusion as she watched you get lost in thought. “…You’re thinking about him aren’t you?” Yes. “Cut it out Sho, I’m not.”
”You are.”
”Am not.”
“Cut the shit, y/n. I get it, you miss him, but think about how he treated you. You can’t stay stuck on him. The mixer tonight, that’s a perfect opportunity to prove him wrong about what he said.” Shoko stated firmly but softly. She was like a sister to you since freshman year of high school. You trusted her, a lot. You understood that when she gave you advice, you should listen. She’d been giving advice to so many people over the years, that it just became natural for her. “I know that Sho, but it still hurts. Someone calling you boring when they just asked for you when it was convenient? It’s just kind of a hit to the ego.” You laughed softly as you said it, even if you knew it wasn’t funny. Shoko nodded her head, and a moment of silence followed between the two of you. After awhile, she broke it.
“You know what you need? I’ve said it at least a billion times already.”
”Shoko..”
”I’m serious! I’ve got just the candidate too.”
That made you pause as you slipped on your dress. “...Who?” Shoko grinned as she looked at you in the reflection, “Oh you know.. White hair, blue eyes, and quarterback of the football team.” Holy fuck. You knew; hell, everyone knew. Satoru fucking Gojo. The captain and star quarterback, the known playboy whom rumors say.. can make you forget your own name. “Yeah, I know of him, why?” You murmured quietly as you smoothed out the fabric of your dress. “You understand what I’m getting at, right? He’s perfect. Cmon y/n, you need this. You owe it to yourself.” You nodded carefully, actually considering it. You had seen him in the campus newspaper, and you actually noticed he had a face and body for days. Out of impulse, you blurted out “Fine! I’ll consider it, but don’t get your hopes up.” Shoko gleamed, squealing and clapping her hands, “Finally! Just be yourself tonight girl, it’s a mixer after all.”
You were so caught up on the name Satoru Gojo, that you didn’t even notice the time. 3:15pm. “Sho, it’s 3:15. Utahime said the party is at 6:30.” Shoko paused as she pulled her dress up, before checking her phone. She scrambled, “Shit!” She exclaimed as she quickly finished up dressing. You raised an eyebrow, “What?” She turned to look at you as she gathered her things, “I have to meet my sister. Suguru asked me to get extra solo cups and I already bought them but they’re at my sister’s place. I’ll be back in a bit, just stay here. Later!” You didn’t even have time to process anything she said before she was thundering down the stairs and bolting out of the front door. You sighed as you ran a hand through your hair, your phone pinged again. You couldn’t help but look. Notification from Instagram. You frowned slightly, but it was another account that followed you.
(Instagram): KCO_flics started following you.
You blinked, the frat? After a few minutes of making sure your dress was perfect, you finally hit the blue follow back button. You couldn’t help yourself. Before you knew it, you were scrolling through the account’s posts. What am I doing? There’s nothing specific here. As you looked through the pictures, there were nothing but videos and photos of the parties. People doing keg stands, others jumping into the pool from the roof, body shots, beer pong, people grinding on eachother. The expected events at a frat party. Yet, you stopped scrolling the second you saw white hair. Its him. White tee, backwards cap, grey sweats. He looked.. gorgeous. You shook your head at the thought, you barely knew the guy, and he probably didn’t even know you. You locked your phone and turned it face down on your bed. No distractions. You began to do your makeup, the time on your clock reading 3:46 pm. Your brows furrowed as you prepped your skin. Should I do the makeup I usually do? No. You’re doing it for yourself y/n, no one else. After about 45 minutes, you finished your makeup. Just as you started to spray your hair with holding spray, you heard the lock click downstairs, followed by, “I’m homeee!!” Shoko. She padded up the stairs, making a small ‘ugh’ sound. “You started getting ready without me?” She whined, to which you replied, “Don’t be a baby, you have plenty of time.”
You both resumed gossiping as you finished getting ready. Two and a half hours later, the time read 6:03pm. You looked gorgeous; your hair nicely curled and voluminous. The pieces framed your face beautifully, and you were dressed in a simple black dress with a sweetheart neckline. The hem of the dress hit mid thigh, you couldn’t help but grow nervous as you looked at yourself in the mirror. You felt Shoko place her hands on your shoulders behind you, “You look great y/n, I mean that. We should get ready to head out, okay?” She reassured as she looked at you through the reflection. You nodded, smiling softly. You knew that when Shoko used that tone, she was being sincere.
You gathered your things, spraying the good smelling vanilla perfume and topping it off with a sweet fruity body spray . You looked gorgeous, so naturally you felt confident. Shoko’s sister, Ren, dropped both you and Shoko off. The house was gorgeous despite being a frat house. There were vehicles parked on the side, people walking inside in groups. You and Shoko found yourself linking arms. “Ready?” She asked you quietly as she looked at the front door. You turned your head to look at her, you grinned. “Duh.” You both walked in; there were bodies everywhere. Despite it only being 6:15, it was already pretty packed. You spotted your sorority and found yourself walking over to them. They spotted you, rambling about how both you and Shoko looked gorgeous. “I’m so jealous of you two! I barely had an hour to get ready.” Mei whined playfully as she pouted. “You two are doing the decorations next mixer.” Music blasted, bodies on bodies grinding everywhere. You and your sorority sisters were genuinely having fun. Until you turned your head. Shit, Ryusuke. The pretty blonde was there, wrapped around his arm. She leaned up to whisper something in his ear, and he naturally leaned down to hear her better. You couldn’t help but feel a sense of emotion pooling low in your stomach. Was it jealously? No, you didn’t get jealous. He was your ex, he treated you like shit. Maybe it was the way they fit so perfectly together, maybe it was the way he looked genuinely happy. You knew she was his choice, but it still hurt. Then, your eyes met. Ryusuke’s brown eyes darted to yours; you looked away first, jaw tight. Asshole.
You needed a drink, a strong one. You excused yourself from your sisters, and they all smiled and reminded you to be cautious. You walked into the kitchen, grabbing a red solo cup and filling it with vodka and some of the red juice in the large bowl. You leaned against the counter, sipping your drink. Then you heard it. “You’re Ryusuke’s ex, right?” Shit. You looked up and found yourself looking at the pretty blonde. Long legs, black skin tight dress, her eyes scanned you from head to toe before meeting your eyes again. “You’re pretty,” she murmured as she grabbed a red solo cup and filled it with Malibu. She leaned against the counter beside you, the silence was loud and awkward. Then her voice cut through, “Look.. Ryusuke is really happy with me, and I’d prefer if you kept it that way. Okay?” She turned her head to look at you, and you turned yours. “Yeah, no worries.” Please just go away. She looked satisfied with your answer, proceeding to ask, “What’s your name?” Was she.. testing me? You didn’t know what to say. You wanted the ground to open up and swallow you whole if it meant saving you from this awkward interaction with your ex’s current girl.
“Y/n, what’s yours?”
She tested your name on her tongue, then responded. “It’s Elena, and you’re in a sorority, right? Kappa Delta? I’m in Delta Zeta.” You knew that, of course you did. You spent the past two weeks stalking her profile, wondering what she had that you didn’t. Stop, please. Just have fun, be polite. You smiled softly, “Yeah, I’m in Kappa Delta.” After that, you both leaned against the counter in silence. Then she smiled sweetly as she said goodbye, but you could see it didn’t quite reach her eyes. As she strutted back towards the living room, you were left with a hollow ache in your chest. Why were you feeling this way? You weren’t jealous. Not at all. You huffed and turned to pour the Malibu into your cup when you noticed you had finished your drink. Then, the people of the living room got louder. What the fuck? Your brows furrowed as you slowly walked towards the living room.
You stopped in your tracks at the doorframe leading into the living room when you saw him. White hair and blue eyes. God, he was even more gorgeous in person. You didn’t even acknowledge the multiple girls practically wrapped around him. Your mouth was slightly opened, until you felt a hand tip your jaw back up, closing your mouth. “I told you he was the perfect candidate.” Shoko. You snapped out of your trance-like state, turning your head to glare at her. When she noticed the look on your face, she giggled, “What? I’m just saying I told you so!” You elbowed her arm softly, causing her to wince and rub her arm dramatically. You couldn’t help but look back towards the living room, and your heart practically jumped out of your chest. He was looking straight at you, eyes widening slightly in amusement. He wasn’t even interested in the girls wrapped around him, he politely told them off before slowly walking straight towards you. The people stepped aside, making room for him as he walked. You noticed, of course you did. Before you knew it, he was standing right in front of you, he was so tall you had to tip your head back just to meet his eyes.
“Hey,” he purred. That voice. God, that voice. You blinked twice, the words getting caught in your throat. He noticed immediately, that smug smirk creeping in, “What? Cat got your tongue, sweetheart?” Shoko grinned once she noticed he was flirting. she scurried away back to your sorority, leaving you two alone. You regained your composure, mentally cursing yourself for getting flustered. This wasn’t normal for you, you didn’t get flustered or nervous. You laughed softly, shaking your head. “No, sorry. Just thinking.” You smiled softly. He noticed that smile, grinning back. It wasn’t the cocky smirk you had just seen three minutes ago. Was this.. genuine? He brushed past you, his bicep brushing your shoulder. He walked toward the kitchen counter, grabbing a red solo cup, and pouring vodka and some of the red punch. His eyes then met yours once again, tilting his head and smirking. You’re breath caught slightly at the sight. You thought to yourself, I am so dead.
”You gonna stand there all night or come and talk to me? I promise I don’t bite.” He patted the counter edge beside him. You walked over, the Malibu in your cup forgotten. You leaned against the counter beside him. You didn’t even know what to say, the famous Satoru Gojo was talking to YOU. After awhile, the silence between you two became more comforting than it was awkward. “So,” he murmured as he turned his head to look down at you, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you at one of my parties. I take it that you’re new?” You shook your head. “Uhh no actually, I’m with Kappa Delta.” The corner of his mouth twitched upwards. “Kappa Delta, huh? That explains a lot. Your sorority has a bunch of cute girls, you included.” You couldn’t help but freeze for a second. “So, what’s your name? I’m Satoru, Satoru Gojo.” I know that.
“Satoru, got it. Y/n.” He smirked, “Y/n. gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl.” You felt the heat threaten to creep up your face, you sipped from you cup, nodding slowly. “Yeah, thanks.” Pull yourself together, y/n. Holy shit, it’s just one guy. “What do you major in?” He’s asking about my major? “Graphic design, you?” You turned to look at him as you replied. He was already looking at you. Those gorgeous blue eyes. You could tell his lashes, you were even a little jealous when you noticed how full they were. He sipped on his drink, eyes still locked with yours “Liberal arts, shocking I know.” He chuckled softly.
The moment after that, you two hit it off pretty well. He was surprisingly funny, drawing out a laugh from you every now and then. Occasionally, he would politely reject girl’s attempts to flirt or get him to go upstairs with them. “Hey, y/n?” He suddenly turned to you. “Yeah?” You turned your head.
”Do you… wanna get out of here?”
“What?”
”I mean leave, but only if you want.”
Your breath caught, but then you remembered Shoko’s words from earlier today. You understand what I’m getting at, right? He’s perfect. You placed your empty cup in the trash, “Are you even able to drive?” He chuckled softly, “Obviously. What, you think I’m a lightweight?” He nudged your arm with his. 10 minutes later, you were sitting in his black 2020 Shelby GT350. Holy shit. The engine purred as it was turned on. “You got anywhere you wanna go?” He asked softly, turning to you. You shook your head, you just knew you didn’t want this to end. He smiled again, that genuine one. You barely knew this guy and you were sure you were already moving on from your ex. “I know a spot, just sit back, yeah?” You nodded, and he pulled out of the driveway. Your phone pinged.
(KD girlz) - hime: Y/N. DID TOU JUST LEAVE WITH SATORU GOJO!? GIVE US DETAILS LATER
(KD girlz) - mei: don’t get pregnant on me now, y/n, protection always.
You winced internally as you read the last message, you were on birth control. How shameless were they when it came to talking about sex? You shook your head slightly, biting your lip as you got lost in thought. Satoru seemed way too comfortable with you right now. You replied back,
(KD girlz) - you: we’re just driving, chill out
“Who’s texting us?” Satoru teased, eyes still on the road. You glanced at him from the corner of your eye, then back out the passenger window, “Sorority, that’s all. Just asking where I went.”
shoko : don’t give them details, it’ll be all over campus by tomorrow. just tell me hah, please and thanks. Have FUN.
You rolled your eyes at the message, locking your phone as you smiled slightly. Satoru was weaving through traffic effortlessly, and you found yourself looking at him from the reflection of the passenger window. The city lights blurred, and soon, he turned the car off. It was a secluded dirt turnout that overlooked both the city and the ocean. It was more breezy here, your hair was starting to flow with the wind gently. “Wow, it’s beautiful.” you stepped out of the car, taking in your surroundings. It was beautiful, the moon was full and the waves crashing against the shore had this comforting atmosphere. “Yeah, it is.” Satoru murmured, eyes on you. “How did you find this place? It’s.. quiet.” You turned your head, seeing he was already looking at you. Satoru quickly looked back out towards the horizon, his ears turning slightly pink. “My pops always took me here as a kid, he’d come here to fish. See that bench over there? He built that, I remember him scolding me when I handed him the wrong sized plank.” You giggled softly, leaning against the car hood. Satoru followed, leaning against it as well but keeping a respectful distance between the two of you. For a moment, the two of you just existed in the silence. Until your pinkies touched. You both pulled away simultaneously, muttering small ‘sorry’s and turning away. It was ridiculous really, the two of you had just met tonight, and you were already acting like an awkward middle school couple.
A particularly cold breeze had come from no where, making you subconsciously wrap your awns around yourself. Satoru noticed immediately, “Cold?” You shook your head no, but he was already opening the left back door and rummaging through the backseat. He came back with a gray zip up and draped it over your shoulders, you couldn’t help but inhale the scent slightly. It smelled divine: sandalwood, something woody, and something else distinctly him. “Thanks,” you muttered. He smiled, “It’s not a problem. Better?” You nodded, feeling.. way better than you had in weeks. “..Satoru?” He turned his head at the sound of your voice. “Why did you bring me here?” At that very moment, he froze. Rubbing the back of his neck, he bit his lip, as if trying to come up with a lame excuse that you would put off easily.
Suddenly, he just blurted out the words. “Look, I’m gonna be honest. You seemed cool and I didn’t wanna be at that party. Too loud, too much people, and it’s just.. overwhelming. I figured you’d be cool to talk to, and you are.” You blinked. Stupid habit that gave you away. He raised an eyebrow, “Did I say something wrong?” You shook your head, “No I just.. didn’t think you were the type to think parties were overwhelming, that’s all.” He let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. “Shocking right? I know, the party boy gets overwhelmed.” You smiled at that.
”Sorry.”
”It’s okay.”
After what felt like forever, he finally asked. “Y/n?”
“Yeah, Satoru?”
“Could I.. get your number?”
