The BAU saves some girls + rough story

Summary:

A girl is kidnapped. The BAU save them.

Spencer Reid gets a wife. Then children.

Notes:

This is unfinished, I would like advice on how to improve (other than adding dialogue). Please, please, please, please. Had this idea for a few months now.

This is meant to be a prologue to a story idea I have where Spencer has a secret wife. Yup. They meet after he and his team saves Kennedy.

The secret lover idea was inspired by a fic I saw a few months ago called ‘Three’s A Statistic’ but I think the author removed it because I can’t find it. Sad about that, it was cute. Spencer’s wife and him were pregnant and then his team found out because he was acting worried.

Chapter 1: Mini story

Chapter Text

Kennedy exited the generic movie-rental store where she worked. She planted her feet on the sidewalk and looked side to side. No cars coming. Kennedy lightly rocked back and forth on her feet, turning her head towards the building. Should she go back inside to wait? Maybe not.
A car drove up and she took a few steps away. She went to pull her phone out of her small bag but it wasn’t there. She turned back towards the building when the man got out of the car and grabbed her from behind. She was pulled in with a squeak. The door shut and the car drove away.

The BAU team, Aaron Hotchner, Derek Morgan, and Spencer Reid were called in to help. Three girls went missing within a week in Quantico. Someone was testing them, they knew the FBI headquarters was in that very town and they took three girls anyways.
Reid looked at the picture of Kennedy. “I know her, she works at the place I rented Star Trek movies. Where-”
Hotch interrupted. “That is the place she was last seen. Her co-workers saw her leave. Her father reportedly was going to pick her up from there but she wasn’t outside. When he asked the people inside, they didn’t know where she was either. Her phone was left inside.”
While waiting for the store to give them the security camera footage, they interviewed the family. Kennedy’s parents were so sad. Kennedy didn’t trust strangers and she only went places with family. She didn’t have a driver’s license, didn’t carry money on her. Her father was sad. He was only a minute late. If only he was there earlier…
They got the footage and watched the hooded man grab her and put her in the car before driving away. Then her dad was there, less than a minute later. He went inside the building. That confirmed that he didn’t do it, he wouldn’t have had time. And he wasn’t a bad person.
They investigated the families of the other two girls and looked at where they were taken. They accounted for all the girls’ details to make a profile of who the kidnapper was.

Kennedy sat in an almost fully empty room with two other girls. There were bolted-down tables that they were attached to. Other than being locked up, they were… pampered? So they also had pillows and blankets and a man came in three times a day to feed them. He let them go to the bathroom in a different room. It was strange.
Kennedy was scared and upset. She missed her parents. The other two were talking and trying to figure out how to escape. She just lost herself in her thoughts, disassociating.

Reid created the geographical profile on a map, looking for the spot where the places the girls were taken overlapped. Hotch spoke to the police about what type of man the unsub possibly was, the profile.
The girls were in their early 20s and they were all crimes of opportunity. They all had brown hair. They were normal girls in normal neighborhoods. No prostitutes. Just normal middle-class girls on the sidewalks.

The man placed down food for the other two girls. They tried to fight him whenever he fed them, so he let them eat on their own. He crouched down beside Kennedy and nudged her. She blinked out of her thoughts and opened her mouth for the food he shoved against her.
He grinned when she ate everything and patted her head. She lost herself back in her thoughts while the other two girls started getting mad at the man. He unhappily took the plates and left the room. The girls told Kennedy to fight back, but she didn’t acknowledge the words.

The man, the unsub, went to work at the pet store. It was in the geographically profile middle zone. Hotch, Morgan, and Reid went to investigate. He didn’t stand out, he was a man, kind to the animals and civil with the men. One of his female co-workers mentioned how he insulted her by calling her a dog.
They then noticed the scratches on him. He was kind to animals… and called a female a dog. So did he kidnap the girls and did they fight back? Very likely. Plus, he was strange when he said he had to go ‘feed his dogs’.
They took him to the station to interrogate him. He was adamant on ‘feeding his dogs’. Hotch asked the man about his ‘dogs’. He expressed remembrance. Kennedy was a kind pup, distracted though. The other two girls were very aggressive and if they bit him, which they seemed close to doing, they needed to be put down.
They showed pictures of the girls and the unsub did express remembrance. He had forgotten to feed his dogs that morning, they’d be hungry.

Hungry, Kennedy tried to break out of the chains, but her hands hurt after just a few attempts. She stopped and teared up. She wanted to go home.
The other girls, Joan and Hayes, were tired from so much fighting against the chains, but they just kept trying, hurting themselves a bit.

The BAU men did some online searching for where the unsub lived. His own house? A parent’s, a friend’s? Doesn’t matter, they found the house that was near the pet store that held the girls.
Hotch, Morgan, and Reid all entered and did a sweep of the upstairs. Then they went down to the basement. Joan and Hayes were so relieved. Kennedy was still in her own head.
Hayes told the men where the keys were, and they were set free from the chains. They were tired and hungry. Hotch supported Joan, Morgan carried Hayes. Reid went over to Kennedy and tried speaking to her, but she seemed frozen. He picked her up and carried her out.
They were all driven down to the station where the families were waiting. Reid gently nudged Kennedy, prompting her back to life. She stared at him with wide eyes and hugged him. She asked how he and the others saved them, saved her. She was in safe arms and relaxed…
Reid quietly told her about how they did it, and she seemed very happy. She had been so scared and sad, she didn’t know they would be saved. But according to Reid, they weren’t going to give up, and she felt so relieved. There was still danger, but she’d be protected. Reid almost gave statistics and told her about other dangers, but he didn’t have the words or heart to when the very pretty girl rested her head on his shoulder.
Hayes returned to her family, Joan to hers. Reid set Kennedy down and she hugged him tight. Her parents came over to them and thanked the BAU. Reid patted Kennedy’s back and then she whispered a thank-you and finally let go and went to her parents.

The unsub and his lawyer pleaded insanity… he thought the girls were real dogs for lord’s sake. If he got better, he’d be released…
