"Am I...cute?"

"The cutest...in the whole world..."

The pair of girls laid on the destroyed ground. Toga fed Ochako her blood. "It's okay. Don't be scared, I'm not sad or scared...I'm happy. I'm happy that I can do this for someone I truly love." The blondes voice was soft, gentle, caring.

Ochako had tried to speak but only succeeded in choking on her own blood. Tears fell freely from her eyes. Her mind raced with a million thoughts at a hundred miles per hour. But they were all about one person, Himiko Toga.

Toga continued, "I did everything I wanted in life. I found a home, a real family, I loved who I wanted. I couldn't have asked for anything more."

Her voice wobbled as she continued to speak, betraying her true fear of dying. she knew she was going to die, but she had accepted that fate long ago. "You see me for who I am, Ochako, you don't see the monster...you see me."

Blood was everywhere, the air was a mix of black dust and pink Quirk remnants. The blond girl hugged the love of her life lovingly. "I really do love you, Ochako." The blondes voice croaked out, her voice was filled with emotion as she gave her blood to Ochako.

Ochako's eyes widened and she cried even more It was clear. Her true feelings shined through clearly now.

The more of Toga she received, the more Ochako could feel herself come back, but also the sickening feeling of Toga becoming lighter.

The brunette brought her shaky hand up to cup Himikos face gently. She smiled weakly, "I love you too, Himiko. More than anything. I'm sorry I didn't understand sooner. You're such a beautiful person, you're so amazing in every way."

Himiko felt her body begin to grow cold. But she still didn't stop giving blood. "Can we?..."

The question was filled with emotion. Ochako teared up and started crying "Yes..." Ochako choked back a sob "yes we can."

Toga hugged her lover close. Feeling Ochako's heartbeat grow stronger. Though she was still paralyzed. Ochako moves her hand to hold Himikos. For a few moments, it was as if the work had stopped. Frozen in place, pink and black dust surrounding them in a beautiful sunset light.

Toga looked into her lovers adoring eyes, admiring every sparkle in them, it was peaceful. She was at peace, knowing she wasn't alone. "I'm sorry, for everything" she said softly.

Ochako looked at Toga, she smiled lovingly, "it's okay. I understand it now. It's not your fault" Those few words meant the world to Himiko, she felt happy. Ready to go. She cupped Ochako's face ever so gently and kissed her.

Everything was slow, beautiful. The faint sounds of battle in the distance, other heroes fighting the stray villains.

They laid there as Toga kept giving Ochako blood. Himiko grew pale. Ochako realized Toga was still giving her all her blood. "Himiko...no...please, please stop...you can't die. Please don't leave me" She felt a lump in her throat.

Toga just smiled. Showing off that beautiful smile of hers. The last time Ochako would ever see it. "No! No don't you dare smile like it's over!" The poor girl pleaded weakly. She knew it was only a matter of time until her lover would die.

Himiko laid down on Ochako. She continued to speak softly, accepting her fate as the blood drained from her slowly. "You gave me everything I could've wanted. I just....wish that I could've lived long enough to be married."

Everything slowly faded out, her vision blurred as her eyes started to close, "I love you" her voice was barely audible. She slowly went limp in Ochako's arms, her breathing slowed, heartbeat slowing dangerously. Ochako looked around desperately for someone, anyone to come save her. No one else was around. This was it. Himiko was going to die and the last thing she'll get from her is her blood. Not a ring, not a kiss, not a letter, blood.

"Don't go..." Ochako pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion as she felt Himiko's breathing slowly stop. Her heartbeat stopped, never to beat again. She was gone. She failed to save her. Ochako sobbed loudly, raw and unfiltered grief escaped her mouth.

The sun had finally gone to rest. The sky darkened, the quirk remnants evaporated completely. Ochako's eyes slowly closed.
-
She shot up in her bed, in a cold sweat. Breathing heavily she immediately turned to the woman next to her.

Ochako felt the soft sheets against her skin. The warmth of the blanket. She looked around the room the called home. Safe. Warmth. Love. That's what she thought seeing this room everyday.

Ochako took in that messy blonde hair, that adorable little fang poking out, and most of all, that beautiful smile that told her that her wife was dreaming happily.

Relieved, Ochako laid back down and held her wife from behind. Calming her nightmares of that fateful day where they both almost died. If it weren't for the medics arriving when they did, Himiko for sure would've died. Ochako hates to think about that very real fate.

Himiko stirs awake sleepily at the sudden movement. The blond turns to Ochako, smiling sweetly, half awake. She looks deep into those brown eyes that had saved her that day. "You okay, Ochako?" She had asked in a sleepy voice.

Snapped out of her thoughts, Ochako looked right back into Himiko eyes. She smiled softly, yet somber..."I'm alright, Himiko. Just go back to sleep." The brunette had said softly.

Himiko tilted her head, she knew something was off, she couldn't tell what it was. Himiko wrapped her arms around Ochako and embraced her into her safe yet cold arms. Ochako couldn't tell why she was so cold.

They both just laid there, staring deeply into eachother souls. Admiring every constellation that was in the other's eyes. Memorizing each detail of each other as if it were to be the last time.

"I love you, Ochako." Himiko had said softly, gently caressing her wife's cheek. Ochako felt her cheeks flush a little, even after being married for years Himiko still had that affect on her wife.

"I love you more, my love" Ochako placed her hand over Himiko's. She leaned in and kissed her soft sweet lips. Yet, those were cold too. Weird.

Himiko pulled back gently, smiling with that beautiful smile that Ochako had adored so much. Himiko started in a low sugary tone "Ochako..."

Ochako turned her focus from her lips back to her eyes with a soft questioning look. "Yes?" Something about the way her wife sounded felt...familiar. Himiko teared up and smiled "am I...cute?"

Ochako felt her heart sink. That's what it was. It was that day. Why was her wife mentioning that day? What was going on?

"What?" Ochako felt her face pale slightly. A cold sick feeling in her gut. Her eyes...where was Himikos eyes? Her face...what did she look like again?

Himiko smiled wider, a somber smile. "Wake up."

Ochako wakes up. Squinting her eyes as she got used to the bright hospital lighting. She heard machines beeping steadily, she woke up to a lonely room. When she was discharged a day later her whole class surrounded her.

Tsu hugged Ochako and cried, "We were so worried, ribbit!" Her tears soaked Ochako's shoulder. She held Tsu caringly and smiled softly, "I'm okay" She lied through her teeth.

Everyone else had been worried sick about her and she pretended to be fine, smiling and laughing with everyone, yet the guilt ate her alive.

Then, the night on the roof with Deku happened. All her walls broke down and everyone saw her, her grief, her guilt, all of it.

A few months pass, one night she's laying in her dorm room. It's 1:45am. Ochako sighs softly, "I need to sleep..." her voice was hallow, empty. She closed her eyes and after a few hours of tossing and turning she finally fell asleep.

She woke up on a field. It was beautiful. A bright blue sky, a pink cherry blossom tree and lovely green grass. She looked around in awe until she froze. Blond hair in space buns stood before her. Ochako teared up, "Himiko...?" Her voice cracked painfully.

Toga turned around, that smile still on her face. It was somber. Himiko walked up to Ochako and hugged her tightly. "I'm okay now. I swear it. Now go live. Be happy and live for me, Ochako"

Ochako broke down and hugged back tightly. Maybe things would be okay after all. Even if this was just a dream, everything was going to be okay. Ochako gave Himiko one last lingering kiss. A goodbye. She was ready to move on. For herself and for Himiko. The sun would never rise for Himiko again.
