Work Text:

Right around the time Wemmbu supposedly died, an invisible player with strange armor trims and a voice changer had magically appeared on the server.

They called themself the “Invisible Knight,” and, based on how rich the Invisible Knight was, as well as the fact that they had used an orbital strike cannon to kill Boomie, a seemingly innocent player, meant that the Invisible Knight had to be Wemmbu.

However, if ParrotX2 wanted to complete his end of the deal with FlameFrags, he would have to prove that this was actually Wemmbu by either removing his invisibility or killing him. . .

“So, I came up with a plan..”

“Theo, can you get me some invis potions?” Parrot yelled, sitting inside of their shared potion shop in Capital City.

Parrot’s wings had started becoming a bit matted and lost the beautiful arrangement of colors that would be on them otherwise.

In addition to that, his eye bags slowly started becoming more visible again and are creeping in just so slightly.

In front of Parrot are papers scattered about, with each paper having a different plan written on them and being equally scratched out.

With how big the Unstable SMP is and how many players there are at any given moment, finding any loot anywhere, especially in a desert temple, was impossible— or, at least any loot that would be useful.

He had hoped to find some dune armor trims, the same armor trims the “Invisible Knight” had, but every desert temple Parrot went to had no signs of them.

..Jeez, makes you wonder how he even got them in the first place. Maybe he had gotten them from Eggchan, or something.

“Uh, sure, why though? You didn’t find the trims, and there’s, like, nobody who sells ‘em,” asked Theo, who remained upstairs brewing the invisible potions Parrot had asked for.

“He probably bought them all, now that I’m thinking about it. With how long he’s going invis, his armor has to be breaking at some points,” Theo joked.

“…Well, like, it’s Wemmbu, don’t you think he’d, like, put mending on it?”

“Fair point. Catch,” Theo says as he climbs down the ladder. Parrot whips his head towards Theo and sees a shulker box, presumably full of invis potions, flying towards him full speed.

By some miracle, he catches it while still fumbling it in his hands. Parrot glares at Theo while he chuckles to himself and heads towards Parrot.

“Still didn’t really answer my question though; what’re you gonna do with the invis anyways??” Theo says, leaning on the table with calloused claws from carting and x-bowing, Parrot could see each and every individual crack and burn mark that Theo had in comparison to his own soft, fragile claws.

Parrot sighs and leans back in his chair, then looks out the window. A bit of his vision was obstructed by the smaller stand they had for busier days, and across the street were 2 seemingly abandoned shops. Well, the one directly across from them, anyways.

The other building had customers some days, but more often times doesn’t, and hasn’t really had any in a long time. So, if he had to guess, that shop was abandoned too. Parrot couldn’t blame them, Reddoons’ taxes were insane sometimes, it was a miracle how he and Theo kept up nowadays.

“..Simple; I’m gonna follow him—“

“Woah, okay, how are you gonna do that?? It’s Wemmbu, like, Wemmbu doesn’t stay in one place, bro. Like, I’m pretty sure he just moved biomes!” Theo stuttered, his gray and yellow feathers all puffing up ever so slightly now, with his arms halfway raised in shock and emphasis.

“That’s what I was thinking, but if I can bait Wemmbu to go somewhere, I can just follow him from there— he can’t stay invis-ed forever,” Parrot exclaims, looking back at Theo now.

Honestly, if it weren’t for Theo’s overly expressive body language, Parrot wouldn’t be able to tell what he was thinking with the sunglasses he wears all the time (he swears it’s for the explosions).

“…Little birdie isn’t gonna get aura for rhyming like that—“ Theo snorts, which Parrot promptly responds by lightly jabbing him in the elbow.

“Okay, what are we saying, bro??” Parrot laughs.

“I’m coming along, though. I mean, there’s still a chance for you to get maced out of nowhere,” says Theo, who got serious in a matter of seconds, it frightens even ParrotX2 when it shouldn’t, not after the Director.

“..Alright, go ahead. Just prepare a few invis potions and materials, we’re gonna be out for a while,” Parrot exhales, who turns his head away from Theo and continues to look out of the window.

“…Most obscure place to hide on the Unstable SMPTM, bro… One could call it.. unstableI—I’m.. losing my mind,” The Invisible Knight sighed, trudging along just enough to maintain their sanity.

The Invisible Knight ended up going through a spruce forest not too far from Capital City for some reason, and it was fairly easy to spot them from the distance. What normal player would have enchanted netherite-trimmed diamond armor anyways?

Parrot and Theo followed the Invisible Knight far behind under the trees, but just enough to still clearly make them out. At least, clearly enough for Parrot and his spyglass, Theo still insisted on wearing his sunglasses (“It’s for the aura, bro,”).

WhHiding??” Theo questioned, “Next to Capital City??? Is this guy actually stupid???”

I know, that’s what I thought too,” Parrot replied.

Parrot and Theo continued to follow the Invisible Knight behind the trees, just waiting for one singular slip up. Until they stopped suddenly, almost too suddenly. If following Wemmbu in secret wasn’t horrifying enough, then this moment has got to be.

The Invisible Knight looks around—Parrot and Theo just barely ducking behind the barks of spruce trees in attempt to hide their particles—and sighs. They start pulling out an enderchest, and then a shulker, and finally… a bucket of milk.

I should’ve gotten Flame to tag along, bro, what am I doing???? Parrot silently thought to himself.

They drink the bucket of milk and, ’lo and behold, it’s Wemmbu. The purple ender dragon himself, one of the most feared players on the Unstable SMP, thought to be dead, was standing right in front of Theo and Parrot, not even knowing he got caught.

But… something wasn’t right. Parrot had to make sure to hold Theo back from jumping him, and that in itself was a miracle to pull off, seeing as how any sound would’ve sealed their fates.

Getting rid of invisibility in the middle of a random forest next to a relatively populated place on the Unstable SMP was… weird. Unusual. Especially when your entire reputation relied on invisibility. Was this somehow a trap, and that Wemmbu of all people caught them right in the act? Or was he—

.railimaf— Wait, uh.. Whoops…” Wemmbu stutters. Parrot and Theo stare at each other (somehow) just as equally confused.

Wemmbu reaches back into his enderchest for a certain shulker, in which he pulls out space-related things and a literal small glowing purple ball. How much does this guy like purple????

He sighs, and recites another line, ”,epsilcEranuL ma I and suddenly glows. It’s blinding to the point anyone in a 500-block radius would be able to see it with a naked eye, but somehow no other players were here.

After 10 seconds of being blinded by the sun (which is ironic because Wemmbu comes from the end, the place known for being an eternal void and night), Wemmbu… changed avatars??

From donning enchanted diamond armor with netherite trims, having a little golden tiara contrasting his overly purple self, eyes as black as the void he’s been raised with, horns as sharp as a great fighter’s sword, and as absurdly purple as an amethyst block

He’s done a magical girl transformation, and became a long teal-haired girl (he had long hair either way, this time it was just down and wavy) with fair skin, had dark purple (seriously??) and grey eyes, wore a silver headdress with a golden gem seemingly floating in the middle of it, and a long purple dress to top it all off.

Okay, what is ACTUALLY going on, bro.

,railimaf ym, em ot emoC he says, and a little purple mist appears in front of him. A short second later, a small purple teddy bear with purple eyes, patches with a matching color palette on its body, and frankly cute black overalls appears. It blinks its eyes into existence and looks around, before ultimately making eye contact with Wemmbu.

“Hi, Lunar!!! What’s happening? It’s a bit scary…” squeals the little teddy.

“Hi—“ Wemmbu coughs ferociously, it almost makes Parrot want to cough too. After a little fit, Wemmbu’s somewhat deep voice went towards a fairly higher pitched one, a more feminine one, if you will.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for that, teddy. I don’t know what happened there,” Wemmbu exclaims.

Neither do we.. Theo mutters, squinting as hard as he can towards the two odd figures.

“It’s okay, Lunar!! I’m not that scared of Wemmbu anymore! I’ve been trying to be brave for the other teddies, and I think it’s working!!!” her familiar says, bouncing on the balls of her… stubs??

“Awh, you only learn from the best, you really are another me. The best thing to learn too—” Lunar sighs, before being briefly cut off.

“—Is family!! Always protect your family!” the teddy exclaims, beaming with joy. Lunar laughs, and gives the bear a high five.

“..Bro, why is this, like.. actually the cutest thing I’ve ever seen?? From Wemmbu too? Parrot chuckles.

I can’t even imagine that’s Wemmbu anymore, bro, huffs Theo, still agreeing with the sentiment.

“Nice!! Oh, how’s the rest of KREW?” Lunar asks.

Wait, crew??” Wemmbu would literally kill anyone who knew his identity (Boomie was evidence), so why is there a crew who (probably) knows who he is? Maybe getting Wemmbu to reveal himself isn’t that hard after all.

“They’re doing great! But, Funneh broke something again…” her familiar sighs.

“Was it because of Draco-?” Lunar deadpans.

“—Yes. She tried getting him again… over Monopoly!! We tried to calm them down, but then she broke one of the glass cups…” the teddy explains, sadness shining in her cotton eyes.

Wemmbu stands there for a second, clearly debating his options, then sighs and kneels down to his familiar’s level, “My familiar, listen, don’t worry about the cup, just as long as you’re all okay. I would’ve bought you guys that cup back so fast, but I need to tell you—and the rest of KREW— something,” Wemmbu calmly explains. Finally! Some kind of reason, he couldn’t have been the Invis Knight without any!

Instead of talking, though, Wemmbu just… reaches into his pockets?? After a bit of scourging, he pulls out an envelope sealed with a light purple stamp.

With Parrot’s spyglass, he’s able to make out the letter “L” on the stamp, and a bit more writing on the top left saying, “For KREW” and “Your (part-time) residential witch” just underneath, which is odd.

For the entire 2 years Parrot has known Wemmbu on this server, he never once talked about being a witch. Let alone having an alternate identity which, mind you, barely even looks like him!

Gosh, dealing with the mafia would’ve been so much easier if he wasn’t egotistical and wanting a mace, which doesn’t even compare to a huge fireball! Maybe Wemmbu wanted more weapons of mass destruction, orbitals count as one anyways.

“Go read this with the rest of them, and tell them that they cannot rip this one apart, ‘kay?” Lunar says, the teddy slightly giggles at the comment and Lunar smiles, “This is going to be one of the most important letters that I’ve sent, and I might not get back to you guys for a while. Just know that I’m okay, ‘kay?”

Parrot didn’t realize it, but the small teddy had started sniffling a little bit and noticed small little tears coming out of its eyes somehow. Wemmbu took a thumb and wiped the tears away, smiling warmly at his familiar.

“After all, the great witch Lunar always prevails, and Wemmbu always gets a win in the end! Gambit and Egg by his side, of course,” Lunar triumphantly states, it almost made Theo and Parrot roll their eyes, Theo nearly even gagged.

“Now, do you still have the compass?”

“M-Mhm!”

“Great, just know that I’m always going to be there in spirit. Well, there’s probably gonna be two spirits, since Egg’s a seraphi—“ the little teddy suddenly hugs her, and quietly sobs in her arms. Lunar hesitates her movements for a moment, but then gives her familiar a hug.

This feels… incredibly wrong,Theo states, slightly shifting.

“..Yeah, but we can’t really do anything about it, Parrot sighs.

After a moment that, arguably, stretched longer than time, Lunar quietly says, “…I’ll be fine, little one. Let’s be strong for our family together, yeah?”

“Y-Yeah.. Yes, Miss Lunar!..”

“One more test; stay here when I go back to being Wemmbu,” says Lunar, now a bit further back from her familiar. The teddy nods her head and stands back while Lunar pulls out another shulker (seriously, how many shulkers does a guy need?? more importantly, why doesn’t he just put it in the same shulker???).

Wemmbu pulls a fishing rod (presumably one for an orbital strike), a mace—both of which made Theo and Parrot halt for a moment— and the iconic tiara he wears (the guy probably doesn’t even take it off when he’s Wemmbu).

Once Lunar is in place, she performs the same ritual again, ”,ubmmeW ma I“ and performs another eye strain. By some miracle, the teddy seems to somewhat withstand it, probably because it’s his familiar.

..At least, that’s what Parrot thinks he said? He wasn’t that good with witchcraft (or its terms in general) but, on a server like Unstable, why would you need witchcraft anyways? The server’s been stated to be fully vanilla, so how did that even get by?

As Parrot was thinking, Wemmbu had finished his magical girl detransformation, and was back to looking at the teddy. The teddy seems to shudder just slightly, but quickly gets rid of its supposed fear and salutes like a soldier.

Wemmbu starts giggling but quickly composes himself, and opted to smile warmly at the teddy. Probably to test how long they can go, they just stand there for moments that made both Theo and Parrot think for a second they were experiencing the common, but still rare, phenomenon known as “lag.”

Wemmbu chuckled, “Alright, champ, don’t forget what you fight for, yeah?” Back to his regular voice, this shouldn’t have been as jarring as it was.

The teddy nods, “Yes, ma’am!.. Sir?… Uh…”

“It doesn’t really matter, but I guess sir because I’m, like, y’know, Wemmbu?” he shrugs.

“Okay! Thank you.. sir! Come back stronger and feel better, sir!”

“Will do, soldier—“ and tips his tiara (who does this???)“I’ll see you later,” and pots invis on himself once more.

The two figures start going their separate ways and Parrot has to, once again, somehow hold back Theo while being invisible.

After knowing they’re out of hearing range, Parrot says, “Bro, we have to follow the bear. It has Wemmbu’s letter, and we can ask his KREW about it.

Theo started stuttering, What about Wemmbu?? Wh— Are we just not gonna talk about him being a shapeshifting witch and, like, actually talks to people???

Bro, if we worry about Wemmbu right now, we’re just gonna end up back at where we started.

“The bear knows Wemmbu’s the Invis Knight, and even knows he’s a witch, and is about to go tell other people that Wemmbu trusts. If we really need to, we can just ask those people what they know about Wemmbu and the Invis Knight,” Parrot explains.

“..Alright, lead the way, bro,” Theo sighs.

“…Bro, this is why I’m the biggest bird, because his familiar is the one leading us,” Parrot chuckles.

Dude! Like, what gives???”

Parrot and Theo have now been walking in the woods for the past few hours, following Wemmbu’s familiar in a direction they’ve never even taken before in Unstable.

It’s honestly exhausting too, because neither of them can’t talk since their covers’ would be exposed, and the teddy has barely said anything.

At least following Wemmbu was entertaining enough because he talks to himself, but Parrot can’t really judge, he does that sometimes as well.

But, just as when things started becoming even more hopeless, a small house similar to PrinceZam and Pangi’s was found. Granted, their house was probably bigger than this one, but the color palette was very similar.

Parrot chucked more invis on their feet, and motioned Theo to get closer to the house. The teddy walked right up to the front door and rang the doorbell (how did they get a doorbell in vanilla Minecraft??).

After waiting a bit, the door finally opens, and a pink-haired girl with cake on her head and a cyan dress with small gold accents opened the door, clearly delighted to see the little bear.

“Oh, hi there! Wanna come inside?” asked the pink-haired girl.

“Yes, please!! Wait, where’s all of KREW?”

“They’re just in the living room, it’s just how it is around here. Do you have Lunar’s letter?”

“Yeah, but this is a really important one! You guys can’t rip this in half!!” accused the little bear.

“We won’t, okay? We promise!” the pink-haired girl swears.

She then rallies the rest of KREW up as cohesively as she can and recites what Wemmbu’s familiar told her, and only then did the bear give her the letter (finally!!).

~~~~~~~~~
Hello, my family,
Now, normally, this would be a normal letter; I’d tell you how I’m doing, you would respond back, and I sometimes buy you guys things. (P.S. Gold, you still owe me 10 diamonds for your bag!!!)
But, I wanna start a new life on the main server. Y’know how it gets (I literally tell you guys what I’m up to too), and winning that fight with Flame honestly made it worse. Literally, I can’t even WALK by a town without being asked to fight them!! Like, what even, bro??
So, I told Egg about it (I probably should’ve told you guys as well, sorry about that), and he said I should fake my death, and I agreed to that because, well, that means no more expectations of the “strongest player” anymore. Really a win-win situation, because I can still be on the main server to tell you guys what’s going on there!
That being said, I’ve (probably) told my familiar that I’m not going to respond to you guys for a while (yeah, Wemmbu might be dead, but hiding as Lunar still takes a lot of work!!), but just know I’m living the dream! I think? Probably!
I hope you guys aren’t too sad by this, but I can’t really go back now. I mean, I’m writing this while Egg brews up some invis pots for me. Seriously, he REALLY wanted me to write this now instead of later (we literally came up with the plan, like, 30 minutes ago).
But, hopefully we’ll see each other again soon, I haven’t seen you guys in so long!! When we DO meet up, can we head back to that one town? I think I forgot a few of Kitty’s things. I’ll pay for the road trip (I think I still have spare armor somewhere), I swear!
Until next time,
LunarEclispe // Wemmbu
~~~~~~~~~

Of course, the girl didn’t bother reading the signature out loud (and, frankly, why would you?), but Parrot could easily tell that was Wemmbu’s signature.

Back when Wemmbu worked with Spoke on The Wonders, he showed Parrot the contract he had to sign to be a guardian of it (which still confused Parrot, he really didn’t have to show it), and that’s where Parrot saw his signature for the first time.

Now, 2 years later, Wemmbu’s signature appeared once again, but of course just slightly altered (time does that). Something about it just makes it so hard to replicate, maybe because it’s an ambigram, but it still helped Parrot out.

How do we get that letter?..Parrot muttered, squinting his eye through the spyglass.

“…Wha-, dude. Like, yeah, there’s proof, but I don’t think Flame would buy it. I wouldn’t either,” asked Theo, somehow staring right at Parrot.

No, dude, like… If we get Wemmbu in a trap, we can lie and say we have his, like, siblings. The letter’s for convincing him more,Parrot explains.

He really didn’t like the plan himself—putting innocent players at “risk” wasn’t ideal at all—but if it’s for exposing Wemmbu and getting to the tomb, there’s not really a better option (especially when his first one failed).

“…Lunar should’ve became herself. I can’t even bother remembering three different names,” a black-haired one eventually answer.

“No, Draco, remember? She’s not allowed to do that. It was something about real witches not being allowed on Unstable, and her ‘aura’ just emitted ‘witch’ or something,” chuckled a blue-haired cat-hybrid.

“But she faked her death, guys! Don’t you guys remember that there’s a lot of bandits on the main server? What if they follow her if she tries being Lunar? An invisible person is really weird to see, too,” the brunette cat-hybrid said.

Now that he thinks about it, Parrot always figured that Wemmbu’s cat-like instincts were because he’s an ender dragon, but being around 2 cat hybrids probably influenced it more. Not like he was an ender dragon in the first place, apparently.

“Gold, she’s invisible, how would you see an invisible person?” deadpanned the black-haired one, who’s now known as Draco.

“I don’t know— their particles??” answered the brunette cat-hybrid, Gold.

“I mean, she’s not wrong. All it takes is looking out the window—“

Theo!” Parrot “yelled.”

“Guys, guys, please?? Wemmbu faked his death, not Lunar. But it still means she’s not going to talk with us for a while, we need to take care of ourselves while she’s gone. Yeah, we’re not on the main server, but we’re still on Unstable! Bandits are everywhere, even here, remember? So, we need to be more careful than we typically are, okay?” said the pink-haired one.

The blue-haired cat-hybrid then raised her hand to salute like a soldier, “Ay-Aye, Captain Rainbow! No messing around!”

“You—.. Ugh, you’re impossible,” the pink-haired one, now known as Rainbow, sighed. Draco snickers slightly, and Rainbow darts her eyes towards him, making him shut up.

“…They probably know our names, so we can’t say those… What if… Parrot started to wonder.

Theo interrupted his train of thought, “..So, why can’t we just pearl in? Or, at least, glitch in? We still have invisibility, so we can just grab the letter and pearl out?

“…That’s.. actually pretty smart. I’ll go do that because, like, no offense, but you’re a little too big for their base,” Parrot commented.

None taken. Besides, the biggest bird will allow the little chungie one do this, just like you said,” Theo taunted, and somehow managed to showcase his fluffed up wings under invisibility.

D’alright, bro, but don’t take this as a win,” Parrot smirked, and then an ender pearl appeared in his claw.

Slow and steady now, Parrot, slow and steady…

Parrot inhales, and throws a pearl in between the two blocks. After a little bit of suffocation, Parrot managed to make it through the walls and the letter is just on the table, waiting to be grabbed. Unfortunately, there’s still two people left around the table (he really should’ve waited).

“Funneh— oh my goshyou put the lava under the trapdoors and then 20 blocks under. Why would you put it where everyone can see it?!” Draco screamed.

“No, dude, it can literally be a fake-out. Like, we can put the lava on top, water in the middle, and then add lava at the end!!! I’m making the smartest ideas while you make the weird, dumb, stoopy ones!” the blue-haired cat-hybrid screamed, whose name is now known as Funny (with a plan that doesn’t even make sense).

“Says the one who spelt her own name as ‘funn-eh,’” Draco mutters, his eyes rolling.

“Okay, Dray-kho,” Funneh** snarled.

“Guys, are you fighting or making traps?!” yelled a voice in the distance. If Parrot had to guess, it’s probably Rainbow’s.

The two sighed and apologized to Rainbow (who is literally 10 feet away in their supposed kitchen), then went back to planning.

Right next to Funneh was the letter, untouched, perfectly in grabbing distance. The only issue was just discreetly grabbing it, oh boy.

After a little bit of thought, Parrot decided that quietly snatching it would probably be the best way to go about it.

Sure, he can go insanely slow, but that’d probably take hours. Besides, they’d probably notice his invis particles after that amount of time (plus, he’d have to pot every once in a while too).

All he needs is just the perfect time to strike…

. . .

Now!!

..And just like that, Wemmbu’s letter is perfectly hidden with the invisibility, residing just inside Parrot’s pocket. All he needs to do now is just get out.

So, Parrot slowly creeps back into the corner he glitched in from, and grabs a pearl from his inventory.

He dropped it. How do you even DROP it??

The pearl illuminates its sudden sound as Parrot takes a bit of damage, the end’s particles visibly showing where he is now. Draco and Funneh’s heads quickly dart towards the noise, and discovered Parrot’s particles.

Hey! Who are you?!” Draco called out, Parrot could hear what’s presumably Gold, Rainbow, and the teddy’s footsteps quickly arriving to the situation.

Parrot fumbles a bit more and grabs another pearl from his inventory, swiftly trying to perform the glitch. Obviously, it’s a little bit harder considering the amount of stress he’s under.

Funneh and Draco pull out their swords and try to crit him out, but he gets out at the last possible second.

Dude, are you stupid?!”

“Theo, just run! They’re gonna know we took it!”

And sure enough, the door slams open, Theo and Parrot only a few feet away from it.

“Theo, I need a diversion, but don’t actually hurt them.

“On it, boss!”

Their voices were now known and, if Wemmbu and his family were smart, they’d know exactly who they were.

This would cause issues, as Wemmbu is probably gonna slime them out now, but that’s exactly what Parrot wants.

If Wemmbu’s familiar told him that they broke into his family’s house, he’d probably come and find them.

So, this means, if Parrot can set up a trap, he’ll be able to lead Wemmbu exactly where he wants him.

All Parrot hopes, though, is that he’ll have enough time to set one up.

To be honest, Parrot wasn’t exactly too fond of his current situation, given the fact that he’s currently in the same room (albeit 100 or so blocks away) as FlameFrags, the Immortal Demon, the second strongest player on Unstable (thanks to Wemmbu). But, it’s not like he really has much of a choice. Neither of them do.

Flame had a request to figure out who the Invisible Knight was, and Parrot would deliver for the coordinates to the tomb of the mafia. So, if either of them were to do something now—especially at the finish line—it’d really just be detrimental to the one who initiated hostility.

It still doesn’t really eliminate the uneasiness.

Especially when Flame has invisibility.

…It’s also uncomfortably quiet. Too quiet. Theo is out fighting Wemmbu and luring him in the pearl cannon, and Flame doesn’t really have friends, so there’s really nobody else to entertain them here but themselves.

The last time Parrot was left alone in a trap with his thoughts was.. Paragon-?

bonk

The Invisible Knight falls onto the smaller platform, darting their head (and presumably eyes) and sputtering profusely, only to immediately stop when realizing who was in front of him.

“Well, well, well... If it isn’t the Invisible Knight himself,” Parrot smirks.

“Uh, unfortunately for you, the ender pearl cannon you just took.. isn’t really the escape path you thought it was.

“And more unfortunately? This is going to be the end of your fake identity…

Wemmbu.”

The Invisible Knight chuckles slightly, “Right.. Hm, okay.”

Parrot sighs, “I don’t know— To me, it still feels like you’re kinda confused about, like, how you even ended up here in the first place.

“So, you want me to explain to you everything that I found out?”

“Not particularly, but I don’t think I have a choice,” the Invisible Knight grumbles.

Parrot exhales, and the Invisible Knight rolls their eyes, knowing they’re in for a lengthy conversation, and mutters, “okay.”

“From what I know, it all started with your fight against FlameFrags. You beat him, somehow, and, in that fight, something changed for you.

“I’m honestly not exactly sure what happened ‘cause I wasn’t there, but after that, you decided to fake your death, right?”

They got caught a little off guard as they were fixing their inventory the entire time Parrot talked (this kid!!), and was about to respond with, “sure,” but then immediately gets cut off by Parrot. Even under the invisibility, he was sure they had did another eye roll.

“You went to the end, you talked to your friend, Eggchan, and you had him spread all these lies about you, about what actually happened.

“And in that moment, the Invisible Knight was born,” Parrot explained.

The Invisible Knight had barely even spoken a word, and Parrot allowed the both of them to sit in silence, letting his words sink deeply into Wemmbu’s head. He could feel how uncomfortable the Invisible Knight was, it was almost surprising.

“The two of us met when you came to my potion shop in Capital City,” Parrot started again.

“In that moment, I kinda had a suspicion that the Invisible Knight was someone already powerful on the server.

“Not only were you eating golden carrots and golden apples as your food source, but look at your armor, bro.

Full diamond with netherite trims? How many players on the server can get something like that?

“And then the fact that Wemmbu had died, and all of a sudden, the Invisible Knight had come around? Seemed a— Seemed a little bit convenient.

“You see what I’m saying?” Parrot asked.

The Invisible Knight had been caught a little bit off guard again, “Not at all—“

“It took me a while to figure out the rest of this, but after that,” Parrot started again.

“You had some sort of battle at Capital City, I’m assuming against Boosfer and Boomie—“

Parrot gets interrupted by the Invisible Knight splashing more invisibility, which is hilarious. Why splash invisibility when your identity’s already figured out? How desperate was Wemmbu?

“…Then something happened; Your identity got leaked to them somehow, and you chased them down, all the way out to the Great Sea...

And killed Boomie to hide your identity,” the words felt bitter on Parrot’s tongue.

“That’s when I knew it had to be you. But, of course, I lied to you in that moment to protect my own life.

“I was then hired by FlameFrags to figure out what happened to you, and, of course, that’s when I was finally able to piece everything together, every little bit of it;

“I followed you once, and found out a lot about you, Lunar Eclispe,” Parrot chuckles, holding out the very letter that caused the entire journey.

The Invisible Knight, if they hadn’t already, had their attention fully on Parrot now, glaring intensely. Their posture stiffened, their grip on their netherite sword fierce, and anger illuminated much more in them.

“You have a little familiar, and you told them to deliver that letter to your siblings, which was when Theo and I broke into their house.

“But, I’m sure they told you about that, that’s why you came hunting for us, am I wrong?” Parrot smugly explained.

The Invisible Knight stood there, looking as if they were about to maul Parrot, muttering something under their breath that he couldn’t really catch.

“By doing that, I was able to draw your attention, which was what led us here.

“I designed this entire plan to get you inside of here. This is my turf, buddy— my turf, bro!” Parrot chuckles, raising his arms to showcase the same superiority over Wemmbu that Parrot feared 4 months ago.

You ended up here, you took that pearl cannon, because I wanted you to take that pearl cannon,” he smirks, visibly sickening the Invisible Knight.

“And, let me guess; if Theo did his job correctly, you should be almost completely out of items,” Parrot claimed, the excitement in his voice rising with each statement.

The Invisible Knight snarled, and checked their inventory. Seeing as how their body went flat, and somehow tensed up more than they already were, he was right. “You have seven hunger bars left, Parrot,” a voice echoed in his head.

“You have no fireworks left, am I correct in saying that?” Parrot smugly asked.

“…Sure,” the Invisible Knight grumbled, their stance looking as if they were going to pounce on Parrot (a “cat” pouncing on a bird).

A back and forth continued between the both of them, with the Invisible Knight growing more and more annoyed by the second. Eventually, Flame revealed himself, laughing at the Invisible Knight’s failure.

The Invisible Knight later decided to throw a wind charge and an ender pearl as an attempt to escape, but that’s exactly what Parrot planned for.

TNT had ignited the second it made contact with the wind charge, and lava started rushing down from all sides— so rapidly to the point the “lag phenomenon” occurred drastically.

Right next to the TNT were a few dogs Parrot and Flame had tamed. Since the Invisible Knight was the one who ignited the TNT, and the dogs would die in the explosion. . .

Wolf was blown up by Wemmbu

(Wifies fell out of the world)

Bingo.

“Alright, we gotta head back to spawn, we only got 2 hours left. Uhm, here; let’s loot up,” Parrot sighed.

After figuring out that Wemmbu had fled to the Great Sea after his breakout in the LAW Prison, Parrot had decided that Wemmbu would be his final chance to winning the election, proving LettuceK’s incompetence.

Unfortunately, a few LAW soldiers had appeared on their way back (multiple times, actually), leaving Parrot and Wemmbu to drain a bit of their supplies, and Parrot distracted.

Which makes this the perfect time for Wemmbu to strike.

“It’s now or never, bro,” Eggchan whispers to Wemmbu.

“Alright, should we start heading back to spawn? We only got, like, 2 hours left until this debate. We should really start going,” Parrot sighs, clearly showing fatigue.

“…Parrot, we’re gonna kill you,” Wemmbu deadpans.

Parrot chuckles, maybe out of nervousness? “What? Okay, let’s go bro.”

“…Box him,” Wemmbu directed towards Egg, heading closer to the macaw.

“..Guys, are we going back to spawn?…” Parrot asks, turning around and facing the duo.

Egg walks up towards Parrot, wood in hand, “I’m afraid not.”

After a little bit of a mishap (i.e. Egg struggling to get Parrot in a box), Wemmbu and Parrot (and Egg) stand there. Silent in the snow, snowflakes taking their forms onto their armor and the ice Parrot (and Egg) stands on, and he’s getting severely cold.

“Can you just carry— Do you know how we ended up in this situation?” Wemmbu bluntly asks, silence taking form. Parrot’s now awfully confused, aren’t they on relatively good terms?

“…Wait, you’re actually being serious?..” Parrot asks obliviously.

“Do you know how we ended up in the middle of the Great Sea with.. no items?” Wemmbu asks again, clearly starting to become agitated.

With no response coming from Parrot, Wemmbu asks Egg to continue boxing him up. At least Wemmbu has Egg, this probably would’ve been worse.

“…Lettuce exiled you, right?” Parrot answers.

Yeah. The LAW’s been hunting me down, and why do you think they’re doing that?Wemmbu sighs. For Minecraft’s “smartest player,” Parrot sure is taking a while to find an answer to the question.

“…Because… Lettuce is using you to become king?—“

“—Uh huh—“ Wemmbu interrupts.

“—And, like, he needs you?”

Wemmbu’s starting to show a bit more agitation, “And why is he able to do that?”

“…Because, you killed, like, a thousand of his lawmen?”

Okay, now he’s really annoyed. “And why were those thousand lawmen hunting me?”

Parrot thought as deeply as he could, trying to find the answer that Wemmbu could possibly be satisfied with.

“…I’m not sure,” he sighs.

Wemmbu chuckles quietly to himself (of course he wouldn’t know), shifting his posture to accommodate Parrot’s incompetence.

“Alright, well, I’ll—I’ll jog your memory;

“It was after you.. revealed my identity, of when I was an invis player.

“Before you did that, I mean, I was pretty much able to do whatever I wanted. The LAW never even wanted me in the first place— they wanted Flame.

“The only reason why I was captured was because Flame just so happened to be there.

“Letty wouldn’t even have the lead he does if it weren’t for you revealing my identity, so it’s literally all your fault I was in prison anyways.

“But I’m not just mad about that; you threatened my siblings. There’s a reason why they’re not on the main server and I am, Parrot.

“I tell them what’s going on just so that they know what the main server’s doing. Not so that they’re affiliated with me and involved with what I do.

Yeah, I can be Lunar, but, with all the stuff I’ve already done as the ‘Invis Knight,’ I’d be dead the moment I attacked Boosfer and Boomie, because I have a certain contract for being a witch on Unstable.

“So, unfortunately, this guy had to die for what I want,” Wemmbu gestures to himself.

“I was tired of being the strongest player, Parrot. I just wanna live a normal life on the server. That’s why Wemmbu died, not because he wanted ‘revenge on Flame,’ or whatever.

He died, so that the Invis Knightcould live their best life, but then you go reveal their identity, and threatened my siblings along with them.

“Don’t you know how insane you are? I thought you didn’t want to harm innocent players,” Wemmbu chuckles. Parrot was honestly flabbergasted, and didn’t really know what to say.

No, he didn’t want to harm innocent players, but his reason doesn’t really justify his actions.

“…My family was put in danger, Parrot. My family was put in danger because of you. Thank Void that nobody else was following my little one, but do you realize how stupid you are?

Wemmbu and Parrot (and Egg) stood quietly, letting the words sink deeply in Parrot’s head. He really didn’t know what to say.

“I’m… I—I know ‘sorry’ isn’t really worth saying, but I was just thinking that, like, you were gonna do something bad. And, like, I probably thought that your family was going to help you out, or something.

“And, I didn’t even know you’d gotten captured in the first place. When you knocked me into the void, the next place I saw you was when Lettuce was taking you out at that emergency meeting.

“At the Pirate Civ, I don’t know if you remembered it but, before you knocked me off, I was going to apologize for, like, revealing your identity and hurting your siblings.”

Parrot stood there, twiddling with his claws, visibly smaller than he had been the entire conversation, while Wemmbu stood in the farther distance, debating his options.

“…I—I know ‘sorry’ isn’t enough, and, honestly, I don’t know if anything would be enough. Especially for what I did to your family.

“But I just wanted to say that, like, I don’t ever plan on coming in contact with your siblings again for stuff like that. I’ll spare as much items as I can helping them out, if that, like, eases you.”

Parrot starts fiddling with the straps on the crossbody bag he often carries, and finds himself darting his eyes towards Wemmbu and, occasionally, at Egg, who’s been silently standing next to Parrot the entire time.

Egg sighs, and walks a bit closer towards Wemmbu, “Wemmbu, I don’t think this is a good idea, man.”

“I mean, you said earlier you didn’t really care to, like, kill Parrot since it’d probably hurt you in the long run and stuff. LettuceK also sounds like he’d be worse than Parrot, so..”

And so Wemmbu stood there, eerily quiet, debating whether or not he should kill Parrot. But, Egg’s right, it’d probably hurt him in the long run anyways.

Wasn’t he also going to get executed if Lettuce won? Lunar’s family wouldn’t even know he died.

“…Alright, whatever,” Wemmbu sighs, walking up to Parrot and removing the wood that was supposed to trap him.

Parrot quietly exhaled a breath he didn’t even know he was holding and smiled towards Wemmbu, “Thanks..”

Wemmbu chuckles, “Dude, you take the server too seriously, bro. You genuinely sounded, like, on the verge of tears during half that conversation.”

“Bro—I don’t want to get banned!—“ Wemmbu starts cackling, cutting off Parrot almost entirely— “Like, I really don’t want to get banned!”

Egg responds calmly in contrast to Wemmbu’s roar of laughter, “That’s fair, bro, the server is that serious.”

Wemmbu chuckles, barely even able to walk straight, but eventually composes himself enough to catch up towards Parrot and Egg.

The sun starts to rise once again when Wemmbu and Egg walk out of the LAW castle, concluding the end of the Six Day War against LettuceK and LAW as a whole.

As they were getting ready to head down some blocks that are vaguely stair-shaped, they notice Parrot sitting on the rubbles of the castle, looking towards the horizon.

“Are you— You gonna become king now-?” Wemmbu asks, sitting vaguely next to Parrot, Egg tags along.

“I’m.. just gonna hold an election, and see who people vote for—” Parrot sighs.

“..Yeah, I’m not voting for you“ Egg interrupts, causing Wemmbu to snicker slightly.

“—And, if they vote for me, then sure,” Parrot finishes.

“..Yeah, I’d vote for Eggchan, but you could be my second pick,” Wemmbu teases.

“Okay,” Parrot says, exasperated, “Did you know your familiar’s behind you?”

Wemmbu nearly whips his head around, and notices the little teddy bear slowly approaching him and Egg, probably still scared of Parrot.

“Oh, hey little guy— ohh. Wait. I haven’t even told you guys what happened when I went invisible…” Wemmbu realizes, nearly smacking himself in the head before realizing he didn’t want to ruffle his helmet further.

Seriously, dude?” Parrot snickers.

“Okay, well, when would I’ve be able to, mister Minecraft’s Smartest PlayerTM?’

“I don’t know dude, at the Pirate Civ?” Egg sighs.

Wemmbu’s now dumbfounded and nearly slapped himself in the head again, before realizing the continued hesitancy of his familiar.

“Hey, buddy, what’s with the.. ah. I see,” Wemmbu starts, but then looks at the teddy, back at Parrot, then at his familiar again.

He gets up and walks towards the teddy, then kneels down, still showing Parrot in her view, “My familiar, listen; I know this is gonna be really weird, but Parrot’s okay now. I think? You’re not gonna do anything again, right?” and turns his head towards Parrot again.

“No, I’m not… Can—Can I come closer?” Parrot asks hesitantly. The bear looks at him and gives the slightest nod, fidgeting with her fingers (stubs?? how would this even work???).

Parrot approaches slowly towards Wemmbu’s familiar and crouches down, “I know it’s hard to believe, especially because that was, like, your first time actually meeting me,”

“But I just wanted to say that I’m, like, sorry. Well, sorry isn’t really enough to make up for what I did so…”

Parrot slowly rummages through his inventory, making sure not to make any rash moves that could frighten the teddy, and pulls out a few junk blocks he picked up from the war.

“This probably seems really worthless, given the state of this place—“ Parrot vaguely gestures to the current stature of the Northern Council— “but these are still some really good building materials, and I know Theo’s put a pretty big dent at your place.”

“And, I’m sorry that we, like, followed you too. It’s not your fault that it happened, and we should’ve found another way to reveal… Lunar’s identity.”

The bear interrupts Parrot, “You don’t have to call.. him ‘Lunar,’ I’m okay with Wemmbu.. I think.”

Wemmbu chuckles, “That’s my girl, you’re still making progress!”

“And making progress is better than none,” Egg adds.

The teddy hums excitedly in agreement, then faces towards Parrot.

1 step,

2 steps,

3,

And she slowly takes the blocks from Parrot’s claws, looking up at Parrot still relatively nervous.

“If you need anything else, I’ll be here, giving you guys as much as I can,” Parrot smiles.

The bear nods then, a second later, frowns slightly, and Parrot tilts his head a bit.

“I think.. you’re gonna have to come with me at some point… You should apologize to our family too, and with, uhm… Theo, as well,” she explains.

Parrot nods, “That’s perfectly fine. Speaking of which, Wemmbu, don’t you think that you should visit your family at some point? They’re probably worried about you.”

“I was planning on that, I’m not— Egg, am I that bad of a sister?? I don’t neglect them, I think..” Wemmbu questions, turning towards Egg.

“I don’t know, bro. Sometimes, you send letters a whole week later with the most life-changing information on them, only for it to barely be relevant anymore, or something else entirely happened within that week,” Egg sighs.

Wemmbu jumps, “I don’t!! Maybe!.. I think!”

Parrot, Egg, and the bear glare at Wemmbu, until he finally sighs and darts his eyes somewhere else.

“..Okay, maybe I do, but I don’t plan on that anymore!!”

And everyone laughs while Wemmbu crosses his arms and chuckles as well.

“D’alright, well, come find us again when your kingdom isn’t.. this, you still owe them that apology,” Wemmbu sighs, now staring straight at Parrot.

“Of course, bro. I’ll bring as many items as I can as well. But, I guess this is goodbye for now. It was fun fighting with you guys, and thanks for helping,” Parrot adjusts his posture, now looking more (unintentionally) kingly.

“Yep. Alright, we’ll see ‘ya later, Parrot,” Wemmbu says, doing a little salute, and heads down the rocky mountain.

“See ‘ya, unc. C’mon, little guy,” Egg waves, holding the familiar’s hand.

“Mhm, bye, Parrot!” the bear exclaimed, walking with Egg.

Parrot waves goodbye, as their laughter finds his ears, falling down the rough blocks that once was the entrance to the castle.

After a moment of blindness, the small group of odd individuals appeared once again, heading to exit out of the Northern Council.

Parrot’s eyes follow them, seeing Wemmbu lightly shove Egg, probably for insulting him somehow, while his familiar is freaking out. Why? He doesn’t know.

He sighs, and smiles warmly at the small group, becoming more and more of a purple-and-blue blob, heading directly towards the entrance of the Northern Council.

Parrot looks up, past the towers that once housed him during the election, past the walls that defined LAW’s rule, and the sun had just started peaking through the horizon.

It’s a new day on Unstable.
