Work Text:
It really was quite sunny that day, so blazing hot that the sand under their feet began to burn.
As they trailed along the beach, Peridot began to complain as she always did. “Ughh, it’s sooo hot today.” Slowly dropping to her knees dramatically, picking up a small shell along the way.
She twirled and fiddled with the shell trying to distract herself from the fiery sun. But soon she was snapped out of her trance by a soft monotone voice. “I can help with that.” Lapis spoke slyly as if plotting mischievous thoughts in her head.
Peridot dazedly looked towards Lapis before speaking, “really?”
“Of course.”
Peridot began to drift off into her own head, thinking of the possibilities, a nice inflatable pool with icy cold water filled inside with Lapis’s help. Or even a water fight where they could have the utmost fun.
But soon, she felt a shiver going up her spine, as a dark shadow towered over her, little drops of water began to drip onto her as she slowly turned her head nervously. Gazing upon the colossal agua hand ready to strike down at her. As Lapis stood inside her creation, Peridot could see the slight smirk on her face.
“Oh clods..”
Strong waves of water came crashing down at Peridot, soon her epic visors were knocked elsewhere. She’d have to go looking for them later, but for now she will have to recover from the harsh ‘little’ prank from Lapis.

A few moments later.

Peridot croaked out a small, “Ow.” in the most bland and dry tone, as she laid down on the sand beneath, taking a small rest before pouting and curling up into a ball. She didn’t seem to forgive Lapis this time around.
Lapis snickered at Peridot’s soaked figure, her hair now ruffled and messy, her visors nowhere to be seen. Lapis softly apologised, “I said I was sorry. But it was refreshing right?”
Peridot stared at her in disbelief for a moment, before finally letting out a grin and giggling, soon they both began to laugh in unison happily. Perhaps, if they are together. Everything will be okay. In the far future, they won’t be alone. They’ll have each other, a support to lean on.
