Airin wakes up in the comfort of her London apartment. She is really happy because today will be her first day as an engineer for the Mclaren F1 Team. Until now she worked for the F2 team Parma side by side with Oscar Piastri. After becoming F2 champion last year, he moved on to the royal class of Motorsport and the Mclaren Team Principal wanted her to continue her work by his side. "You two are already in sync - I see a bright future for us with you two." That was what Zack Brown said to her, when he gave her the contract.
Airin gets out of bed, puts on the classical Mclaren Team Kit and puts her long blond hair into a ponytail and makes herself ready for the day. She eats breakfast in a small Cafe right under her apartment.
After that the new Mclaren race engineer gets into her Mclaren GT. Her Dad, who owns a big farm back home in Sweden, gifted her the car when he heard from the new position. "You need a fitting car for your new workspace." She drives exited to the Mclaren Headquarters.
On the way she can't stop thinking about the time with Oscar at the Parma F2 team. Although they had an age gap of 8 years, they always understood the other one. Her friends even joke that they would make a good couple. But she views him more as a Brother. That's where the nickname "broder", which is Swedish for brother, comes from. And she doesn't want a relationship anyways. She wants to focus on her new, hopefully glorious, job.
With that thought still in her head, she passes the gates of the Mclaren Headquarters. She pulls into her parking spot and in the spot next to her Oscar pulls up. After both of them got out of their cars they grading each other with a big hug.
"I′m so happy to see you", Oscar said to her.
"Yes I′m so happy too and also because we both made it to F1 together." Airin answers.
"We did it together! I couldn't have done it without you and I am so happy that we have the possibility to work together in F1."
"Yes, I still can′t believe that our dream came true!"
They are chatting a bit more about there good old time at Parma before they go into the building. When they go inside they find themselves in a big antecedence hall with a reception were a Lady in her mid 40 is sitting. The women sees them and says in a really friendly tone to them "Hello, I′m Rachel. You two must be Oscar and Airin."
"Yes you are right. Nice to meet you Rachel", Airin replied with a big smile on your lips.
"Zak is waiting for you in his office. It′s on the second floor and than the first on the right. The lift is right over there."Rachel points them in the right direction.
"Thank you. We better keep going. We don′t want to make Zak wait any longer. See you around Rachel."Oscar announced as they are heading to the lift.
They get in the lift and Airin pressed the button for the second floor."I am really nervous!" Airin exclaims while fidgeting with her hands. Oscar puts his hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "You don′t need to be. We already won one championship so you can handle that too." Before she could say anything else the door opens and they get out. Seconds later, they reach the door of Zaks office.
"Ready?" Oscar asks before nocking on the door and Airin replies with a simple nod. Once he nocks there comes a voice from inside the office that screams a loud yes. Oscar opens the big white wooden door and slips in, Airin gets in right behind him.
The room has a big window front and a big desk with one chair on the one side and two on the other. On the walls are a lot of pictures of the former drivers and some trophies. One picture is standing out to Airin. In the photo is a men holding a trophy which Airin thinks was the one from Monza 2021. It is standing out to her because the guy has the biggest and most beautiful smile she has ever seen. And over all he looks really good.
Oscar gets to the desk first, and Zak welcomes him to the team by shaking his hand. When Airin gets to Zak, he shakes her hand too. Then he says with his big American accent to both of them "I'm really happy to welcome you both to the McLaren family. First let me give you your keys. With them you can get into almost every room around here."Once he gave them the keys he continues "So now that we are done with that let me give you a tour of the factory. Once we have completed the tour, Lando and the other team members will be joining us, so we can start with some testing."
