Work Text:

A week has passed, and then another.

Emily was a strong girl, back in the catholic school she was the one to speak up and take the blame if needed. And the smile she had when fighting boys to save her friends, was very precious.

You know, she was so strong that all the boys used to call her an ogre. And soon she herself called herself that.

Soon the ogre had to leave for middle school, and back then we promised to meet once again.

Then she disappeared, for many years I wondered where that strong willed girl went.

Where did the ogre go? And only in high school have I met her, she had scratch marks on her wrists but I paid no mind. Beneath it all it was the same girl, I assumed..

We hung out, shared some cigarettes and she actually didn't change one bit. Still the same smiley girl, we actually had a ton of laugh during our hang outs just like back in the catholic school

Her eyes did change, they grew more hollow

Yet again, we stopped seeing eachother for a year. I focused on my studies and she disappeared, a lot of my classmates asked where Emily went. I wondered as well, remembering her wishes to wander the world.

Must've been in France by now- I chuckled.

Because Emily isn't a person to stop at one place, an ogre wouldn't stop at one valley.

But a week has passed and then another.

Until about a couple months later.

I saw my invitation to a funeral. She overdosed. The strongest person I knew.

Through out many years, and many people she must've met.

I was the only one there except her mom.

And then, a week has passed and then another.

Notes:

thank you for reading!

I know it's been a while since I posted

I appreciate any comments and would love to know what you think about this very short work and who do you think is the narrator.

I actually wrote it to slowly get back into writing fanfiction and hope somebody out there was waiting for me.
