Work Text:

"One more round, Jingyan!"

With his silver spear in hand, Lin Shu glares at him in a way that's so, so familiar and endearing to Jingyan. He likes how Lin Shu's eyes glimmer with an emotion that isn't actually anger, but rather obsession. But of course, if Lin Shu really was angry at him, he wouldn't have minded it either.

"How many has it been?" he asks, smiling innocently, knowing that his deceitful innocence is something that Lin Shu hates. Lin Shu's grimace confirms it.

With every passing day he's grown more and more fond of how Lin Shu expresses everything from excitement to disgust in his face. He likes how Lin Shu has a habit of not holding back, not hiding any secrets from him.

There's something sensual about it, how Lin Shu only lays himself bare before Jingyan.

"Come on, Jingyan." Lin Shu raises his eyebrows and grins. "You can't actually be tired, are you?"

Ah, Jingyan notes, there it is. He finds it unbearably funny how Lin Shu's perks haven't changed since childhood, how he resorts to provocation and teasing if he doesn't get what he wants immediately. He especially likes how his dimples, his radiant smile, and his cocked eyebrows meet up like the stars of a constellation.

Lin Shu is irresistible.

"Don't you have a stomach, Xiao Shu?" he fires back, laughing. "We started at dawn and it's already the afternoon. I can smell my mother's sweets from the courtyard."

Lin Shu's face darkens. "You prefer hazelnut pastries over me, Jingyan?" He drops his spear onto the grass and quickly closes the distance between them. Now their bodies are nearly touching and Jingyan can feel his breath on his skin--it's soothingly warm.

Lin Shu's glimmering eyes are deep and pearly, reflecting only Jingyan's admittedly surprised face. "You like them more than you like me, Jingyan?" he whispers urgently, cupping Jingyan's cheek with his hand, fingertips grazing against his skin, not gently at all...which Jingyan likes. There's a sense of impatience and intimacy in his voice that makes him want to question his morals.

"Would you eat them,"--Lin Shu pauses, moving his lips tentatively against Jingyan's chin, and that's when Jingyan remembers Lin Shu is shorter than him--"like this, Jingyan?"--Lin Shu bites on his bottom lip, and Jingyan actually gasps out--"and would you swallow, Jingyan,"--Lin Shu presses his lips onto his, tugging on his collar and forcibly tilting Jingyan's head down so they can meet--"and then take another bite"--from where he's standing he can see how Lin Shu's cheeks are flushing red and how his eyes look intoxicated--"and wash it down,"---Jingyan lazily opens his mouth and feels Lin Shu's flicking tongue, oh for the love of--"with a cup of water, Jingyan?"

Jingyan closes his eyes, trying to calm his frantic heartbeat, especially when it's so loud that he's sure Lin Shu can hear it, probably even feel it. His suspicions are confirmed when Lin Shu's hand suddenly moves from his cheek to the nape of his neck, bristling, and that's the last straw for Jingyan.

"But you prefer tea, don't you," he murmurs, grabbing onto Lin Shu's wrist with one hand and not yielding, "Xiao Shu?" He rests his other hand against the smaller boy's back, feeling for the curves of his body under his robes. "You like the tea made with the leaves from my garden, right?" He plants kisses against Lin Shu's forehead, brushing his bangs aside, making his kisses soft enough so that he leaves no marks--he never liked being messy with Lin Shu. "You like me more than any cup of tea, right, Xiao Shu?"

"That's a hard one," Lin Shu jokes, his true feelings betraying him when his ears turn rosy red. Jingyan replies by kissing him squarely on the lips, without a real purpose, without an aim. Because all he wants to do is turn Lin Shu into a mess.

"Just kidding," Lin Shu breathes out in between kisses, "I want you, Jingyan." He worms his arms around Jingyan into an embrace as Jingyan tugs his robes down and licks the pale white expanse of skin. Somehow they've ended up sprawled on the grass, Jingyan hovering over Lin Shu but only by a few centimeters, yet funnily enough the only thing Jingyan can think about is how beautiful Lin Shu is.

"Jingyan," Lin Shu musters out, gasping when Jingyan flicks his tongue on his collar bone and bites down on his skin--Jingyan lied, he did like being messy with Lin Shu, but only where no one else could see it.

"Hmm?" he mumbles, close to undressing Lin Shu's top robes by that point. He pauses to admire the muscles in Lin Shu's lean build--he really was a treat to the eyes. "What is it, Xiao Shu?"

Now Lin Shu's hands were resting on Jingyan's shoulders, teasingly lowering the rim of his red robes. "I think I heard your mother calling."

Jingyan finishes removing the last layer of clothing from his top. "Is that so?"

"Jingyan," Lin Shu repeats, a little exasperated, as Jingyan moves his hands down to his waist and clutches his sides. Of course Jingyan hears him but ignores him in favor of other, more important things, like kissing him again, with his hair knotted in the grass.  He smiles against his red lips.

"She can wait."
