And they say ' Bad people don't deserve the rewards, the compliment and the redemption '
Cuphead sat with his head lowered and his back hunched forward, he lifted one hand to rub at his eye, the one adorned in patches. His head stayed the way it is, glued together and polished.
Mugman laid not too far away, just besides the door, his eyebrows arched in a way that was uncomfortable.
His head hurts. It's weird to feel that way.
He slept soundly last night with the addition of a Celestial in the dreamworld. The sun was barely past the mountains right now he assumed.
His brother mumbled nonsense in his sleep, making Cuphead looked up, face contorted in confusion.
It was strange.. He likes that word.
Footsteps could be heard from outside, thumping against the carpet floor as he took a breath to bring back the guy he was. And laid back more comfortably, realesed the tension holding his spine up.
His face hurts. Have he told anyone that?
The rattle of the knob woke Mugman, he blinked confusedly, trying to remember, to pinpoint the events happened yesterday. He whipped back toward Cuphead, the one whose eyes opened wide, acting surprised.
The door spun back, almost hit Mugman in the nose, he didn't yelp, he stared in shock and almost cautiousness.
It was Teagan, the lady with a teacup for a head, the one who just like them, who helped Cuphead back in one piece. She had told them to be careful, to be cautious of the edges and the others to not touch him at the moment.
She acted like she cares, he knew she wouldn't.
But they says " Ignorance is bliss".
Mugman stood effortlessly, despite his legs shook under the sudden pressure and he stalked over to the shorter woman.
" May I ask for your presence this early in the morning? " Mugman spoke with a curious voice, his arms crossed, his scarf flowed suddely, making him weirdly majestic.
Teagan jumped at the voice but nodded apogetically when noticed Mugman walked past to the ichor machine.
" I'm sorry for the sudden appear gentleman. It's just that I forgot to send Sprout to get the medication needed for Cuphead. " Teagan explained, her hands enclosed in gold-glitter gloves, holding something.
Mugman tilted his mug, staring at the woman who felt guilty for invading their safe space at such early hour. His brows ceased for a moment before glancing at Cuphead for a validation.
Mugman worries too much, he is fine.
Cuphead gazed at the medicine in her hands and tilted his head down, so they did just applied the medication and assumed it worked on him just like any other toons.
He turned, now, to his brother who still looked at him for an acceptance, for a sign of discomfort and pushaway.
Mugman was still scared of the outcome, of the anger and the hate from his brother, he was still in denial of his brother's forgiveness and thought of it as nothing more of a comfort in a fleeting moment.
Cuphead though smiled warmly and honest, despite the pain in his jaw and his left eye, he was still Cuphead, the overexcited person who loves his brother too much to let go off.
" Thank you miss, can you teach me how to applied it though? " Cuphead answered, his smile small and private.
Teagan breathed an air of disbelief and relief as she revealed the medicine to be a lotion made by her to help with the cracks she sometimes got.
Mugman blinked but relaxed slightly as he stood by his side as the teacup woman strolled to the other and pulled a chair to sit down as she explained the function of the lotion.
The lotion is helping.. He feels better in some way.
The light chatter could be heard from outside, it was morning right now, wasn't it? Teagan turned to the doorway, her smile present and warm, as she helped Cuphead bandaged his face with Mugman stood by watching.
The cracks was healing now, it didn't stimg that much anymore.
Cuphead nodded to the woman politely, his face happy and opened.
Teagan is nice.
A dip in the sheet alerted him to the other presence in the room. Mugman breathed a sigh as the door barely closed with a soft click, he knew he will be kicked out soon enough as Sprout and Cosmo were closed to show up.
Cuphead hummed to him, mouth formed a genuine smile, the one hidden deep, small and inconsisted.
" It doesn't hurt now isn't it? " The mug asked, back laid to the sheet below, above the brother legs, his mugs rested on Cuphead's hands, a sign of comfort.
The blue one nuzzled his head close to the palms of the red one, seemingly absenmindedly as he whispered lowly, " I'm sorry. "
Cuphead blinked, a moment of conflict, then pushed the problems away, his eyes half-lidded, " I'm okay. "
The redemption will come, we just have to wait.
