Summary:

"You're stupid."

"I get that a lot."

"From who? He must be smart."

"You, Katsuki."

or

Izuku received a call that changed pretty much everything. He was completely helpless, Mitsuki Bakugo adopted him and he now had to share his day to day with Katsuki while accepting the fact that he'll never be a hero.

Chapter 1: New ends

Chapter Text

"Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life, and take a swan dive off the roof of the building." Bakugo's words echoed, rather loudly. This wasn't a new catch phrase, not a new thing.

Bakugo was being particularly insensitive lately because of his encounter with All Might, Izuku didn't step forward. He didn't expect him to but...he felt like something was off, it really didn't matter. A random guy ran forward into the monster and was killed, only then Allmight stepped in, two killed would be too much for the state's insurance.

"Gosh Katsuki, you can't be saying that... he'll actually do it at some point." He said as they walked out of the classroom, leaving Midoriya inside.

"Been saying it for years and he hasn't done it." Katsuki scoffed at it. He heard the classroom's door open behind them and got goosebumps.

"So what if he does? Ha, that would be funny." He glances at him as he says that. "Quit giving me that look, Katsuki.
You are the one telling him to kill himself."

"Tch— I think I forgot my assignment in the classroom. You guys can go, I'll talk to you tomorrow." Katsuki rumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets and storming off back to the classroom.

"God he is annoying. He should take a swan off himself." They laughed between themselves."Self centered bitch."

Bakugo heard in silence. He couldn't help but laugh internally as he opened the door.

He looked around the room, no Deku in sight, only his books and backpack. "Fuck." He sighed and left his stuff on the floor, running to the rooftop.

"You took a long time."

"Don't." He muttered seeing Izuku standing on the edge looking forward.

"I won't." Midoriya looked at Katsuki.

"Come down."

"I'm not dying in front of you."

"Firstly I didn't say that, I told you to come down. Secondly, you aren't dying anytime soon Deku." He said with hatred.

"Ah.. yeah."

Izuku came down and stared at Bakugou.

"God, you're useless."

"Yeah you were missing that line, tell me to kill myself again as well."

"Whatever, quirk-less shit." Bakugo's voice got lower as he spoke.

"Meh, who cares? It's not like I'll be a hero, a quirk wouldn't change shit at this point."

Katsuki looked away, stiffening his posture.

"When's the funeral?" Katsuki asked to change topics, it was a bad topic to change to but he was grasping onto anything he could at that point.

Silence.

"I'm not going."

"Why?"

"He will be there."

"Come on, aren't you curious about what he looks like?"

"I'm not."

"You're stupid."

"I get that a lot."

"From who? He must be smart."

"You, kacchan."

"Sometimes you aren't."

"Uh... ok sure."

"This doesn't mean I care."

"Kacchan, I stopped caring about you liking me long ago."

"Tch."

All of these awkward interactions started when Kacchan almost died, on the same day as Inko Midoriya died, the same way as he almost did. Asphyxiation.

They walked home quietly, nothing was to be said. No one wanted anything to be said. The streets were filled to the brim. Katsuki's mind rang loudly, Izuku's was quiet, at ease.

As Bakugo looked over to Midoriya his mind drifted to earlier, he got a weird shiver and started sweating.

Off a cliff only taunted Katsuki, at least since Izuku Midoriya gave up on being a hero.

Katsuki breathed heavily, that whole place was too small, all of the faces around him seemed to disappear plainly from existence. Everything was black, gooey, asphyxiating.

"Kacchan, it's raining." As he finally snapped out of it, he noticed that both of them were sitting at a bench.

"Ah. What time is it?"

"Don't think about that, control your respiration first." Izuku said and grabbed a bottle from Katsuki's backpack. "Drink."

"Must be the cold."

"Anxiety perhaps."

"No, stop being stupid."

"Whatever you say Kacchan."

"Fuck off and die."

"You don't let me."

These were the types of interactions they had on the daily when they were alone. At the beginning Izuku actually tried to kill himself, then he gave up.

"Just answer me fuckhead, what time is it?"

"My phone's out."

"Gosh if we didn't live in the same house I'd blow your brains out."

"You wouldn't."

"Ah, forget it." Bakugo's head was still tickling, "It's 5:30pm."

"K."

"You irritate me."

"I know, I thought we were both well aware."

"Argh." He gets up and starts walking again, the street is less crowded.

Izuku got up as well and followed him.

"Ah! Hello boys. How was school?" Mitsuki said, greeting them playfully as they walked through the door.

"Shut up old hag." He almost yelled, walking swiftly upstairs.

"Fucking... ha... So, Izuku?" Mitsuki's expression fell a bit.

"Hello auntie."

"Hello sweetie, how was your day?"

"Calm."

"Oh that's great."

They both knew that was a lie.

"Are you sure you won't be going to the funeral? Your father really wanted you to—" She was interrupted.

"I won't go." Izuku said firm, it was rare to see him talk with such certainty after his mother's death.

"Oh. Alright then... you know, if you want to talk to me or change your mind in the meantime just tell me." She said kindly, hugging him.

"Hm." Izuku waited for her to end the embrace and nodded. "I'll go do my homework."

"Okay! Anything just tell me."

Izuku didn't answer, he walked upstairs into Bakugo's room, now his own as well. They put a mattress on the floor once he moved in. They bought a bunk bed for them but it would only arrive once it was restocked so they have been waiting for it for well over a month.

"I'm coming in, let's hope you aren't naked."

"Oh shut up. As if I changed here." Bakugo retaliated.

"That happened before. Who were you sending photos to? Oh right, Shukia from class D."

"Fuck off and die."

"I wish I could. But you put the chair back under my feet."

"I.. don't try that again."

"Why? Do you care?"

"No. Of course not. I just don't wanna see you dead." Bakugo's reasoning would make sense if he wasn't the one telling Izuku to commit suicide.

"Mhm. That's silly."

"I just don't want your ugly dead body in my room."

"Yeah sure." Izuku wasn't acting like himself, he never would talk to Kacchan like this, ever.

Nothing seemed normal. Not even Bakugo, he wasn't acting as usual towards Midoriya, not that he liked the abuse but something was just off.

"Do my assignment."

"No."

"If you don't I'll—"

"Bully me? Sure, I don't care." Izuku grabbed his notebook from his bag and started his English assignment, sitting on the mattress on the floor.

"Argh.. Deku."

"What?"

"Can you help me with —"

"No." He looked dead.

"Oh for fuck sake."

"You can ask for some stuff. I'll answer. I ain't writing anything though."

"Seriously... ah... so what's (...)"

Moments like this are way more comfortable for Bakugo than they seem. Hearing Izuku's voice didn't anger him.
