It was a beautiful winter Saturday morning in Tokyo. The sky was covered in beautiful shades of orange and yellow before the blue started seeping up from behind the far hills in the distance. The kind where the sun was at the perfect angel for warmth coating your body when facing the sun and still yet cool enough for snow to coat the streets without melting into mucky water.
Niko wandered the quite streets, heading over to the spot him and Charles had chosen to meet up at, rubbing his hand together to stay warm in the cold air. He pasted by a few children running along in awe of seeing their own breath in the air, floating up like a small cloud.
Once he had gotten to the area he noticed that the loud blonde hadn't arrived yet so he pulled his phone out to check the time to see how early or late he was. Niko was indeed slightly early as it was 9:53 and they had decided to meet up at 10:15 so Charles had time to get ready since the earliest he can physically wake up is at 9:30.
"Ikki!! Over here!" Charles calls out in a warm, sing-song voice rings out from behind Niko, shifting his attention. He can hear Charles fast foot steps crunching against the snow approaching him in a pace that sounds like running, but struggling from the cover of snow under his feet.
Niko stiffens up expecting Charles to pounce on him and, just like Niko had guessed, Charles jumps on to Niko with all his weight almost making both of them fall over into the snow. Niko has to push Charles' weight off him slightly too keep balance so they don't fall on the snow covered ground.
Charles laughed a warm, bubbly one as he regained on his balance yet was still clinging on to his dear boyfriend like letting go meant losing him forever.
"Char! Hey!!" Niko laughs with Charles playfully pushing him but with enough force to get the blonde off of him.
Once they both had their feet on the ground Charles had already gained all his energy back and pulled Niko into a tight embrace after fixing his scarf that had been falling off from the sudden movement of the owner.
"Missed ya..." Charles mutters, head on Niko's chest. Niko was surprised from the change of action but still accepted the hug reciprocating the action back.
It was expected that they would miss each other since they haven't seen each other for around a week. Charles went back to France on the first week of winter break to visit his family so they couldn't meet up as often as they wanted to that week. The moment the plane had arrived back from France they wanted to schedule a date.
After they hugged for what felt like forever the two boys decided to start heading over to the cafe they had chose ahead of time.
Holding hands, they walked along the snowy sidewalk chatting happily as the wind danced around them, picking up tiny pieces of snow from the ground. Cars and bikes flew past them with a silent buzz and tress whispered from the freezing wind.
The streets weren't too busy yet especially since it was the weekend and still pretty early into the day. The hushed city provided a very comforting aroma around the two soccer players.
Once they had arrived at the hushed cafe they took a seat near the window that had a beautiful view of the small city.
A waitress came over to the table Niko and Charles had sat at once she noticed they seemed ready to place their orders.
"Can I have a ______ and macrons" Charles exclaimed first then turning to Niko waiting for him to answer.
"Oh... Uh- Can i have uh a ______ Thank you!" Once the two boys had ordered their preferred drinks and Charles' macrons the made small talk with each other like normal as they ate. Every time Charles smiled Niko would always go quiet and watch him, admiring him. Even though this happened it was easy for Niko to pick back up the conversation since Charles was a very talkative person.
Niko loved that stupidly cute smile, that made Charles look so happy, so much that he would basically die just to see it every single day.
Watching that smile always caused butterflies to start dancing inside his stomach.
Of course Charles noticed.
He noticed everything about his precious boyfriend, from his eyes to his habits.
Especially his eyes.
Those gorgeous teal eyes that always looked like it knew more than others,the same eyes that always scanned over the blondes face when he smiled or laughed. Charles had somehow come to the conclusion that he could never hide any secrets from Niko because of those eyes but the real reason was because every time he did lie Niko knew immediately since Charles twirls the little strand of his hair when he lies.
Yet Charles still adored them just like how Niko adored Charles smile.
Basically they were both stupidly down bad for each other and they both know it.
