Work Text:
It was an abnormally calm night at sea. As Feena was staring over the nigh endless ocean, she began to reminisce over her journey thus far; Her first meeting with Justin after her previous adventure on that island, and their subsequent daring escapades on the ghost ship, Justin crashing her "Marriage" with Pakon, and the rest of their journey to find Alent. As she continued to recall everything that the two of them had been through, Justin walks out of the cabin.
"Oh, Justin... you're awake." Feena says without shifting her gaze from the sparkling sea.
"Look. Everywhere you look, there's nothing but ocean. Not a single island in sight."
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it? See its reflection in the sea sparkling like a diamond?"
With a smirk plastered over her face, Feena mockingly says "Say, Justin, are you planning on standing there forever?"
"Come sit with me."
"Uh, yeah. Sure." Justin quickly stammered.
"Why are you sitting so far away? Fine, I'll move over there." Feena playfully jeers.
"This is the first time we've been alone together." Feena playfully announces with a soft giggle.
"What's wrong? Why the silent treatment?"
"Um, hmmmmm… Well, uh.. you know…" Justin bashfully mutters.
"You know... I've been thinking about things out here."
"Do you wanna guess what I've been thinking about?"
"I know!" Justin exclaims.
As the waves lapped up against the side of the ship, and the surface of the sea glimmered like the stars, Justin stares directly into Feena’s captivating green eyes, eyes so beautiful that one could find themselves eternally lost in them; eyes that perfectly accented her jade green hair, which draped down her shoulders like a miniature waterfall.
“You’ve been thinking about me!”
“That Justin, he’s so manly, so handsome and such a wonderful person!”
“… Guess not, huh?”
“Try again!”
“I know, I know…” Justin remarks before breaking out in mirthful laughter.
Justin’s laughter echoes across the endless ocean, disturbing its tranquil silence.
“Well, maybe you weren’t entirely wrong.” Feena murmured.
“Huh?”
“When I first met you, Justin, we were sailing over the sea. I’m reminiscing about that time.”
“That time, you said I was still a newbie and you wouldn’t even give me the adventurer’s greeting.” Justin remarks with a playful glower.
The two stare out over the expanse, filling their surroundings with warmth as they recall their initial meeting.
“At that time, I never even imagined that I’d go on a journey with you.”
“But you’ve grown stronger, braver, and more trustworthy, Justin. Your place in my heart grows bigger and bigger.”
“Feena?” Justin asks, as he locks eyes with Feena.
“Long ago, when I was still living with my big sister… I was, ... I was so happy.”
“But the day she left, I was all by my lonesome.”
“Even now, I sometimes worry. The more I think I’m happy, the more I worry.”
“I worry that everyone will leave me, and that scared little girl from all that time ago will come out again.”
“Justin… do you think we can be together forever?”
