Work Text:
In the City of Glade, Globox was snoring as usual on a branch from the tree, unusually catching flies with his tongue whilst sleeping.
Far away from him, Rayman was singing in the boat, off-key and horribly.
That off-key vocalizing caused Globox to wake up and irritably cover his ears while the flies flew away fast.
As the boat stops on the blue frog, Rayman unintentionally emits a long off-key scream that’s so bad, the whole city was distracted by it as a lot of grey clouds came and began to flood the city.
Globox has to stop Rayman’s off-key screaming from fully flooding the city and by doing so, he grabs his mouth shut, simple as that.
Thus, the grey clouds stopped flooding and left.
Globox and Rayman were relieved but there’s only one problem…
Almost the entire City of Glade was flooded by the aforementioned grey clouds earlier and they’re the only ones on a boat.
Globox sternly looks at Rayman, thinking “Now look at what you’ve done.” as the latter’s expression responds in remorse.
A few minutes later, Globox was fishing on the boat and caught something.
He, along with Rayman, checks to see if it’s a fish but instead, they got a bicycle, to their dismay.
Hours passed, and it looks like the duo were suffering from starvation due to lack of food and water.
As Globox stood up to do another round of unfair fishing, he suddenly catches an eye on a type of sandwich called a “Jambon-Beurre” on a plate in the flooded ocean.
The blue frog then pokes Rayman to wake up and points at the sandwich to him, who was surprised.
You know, everyone loves a Jambon-Beurre, and so do Rayman and Globox.
But they hear a flock of seagulls circling around the sandwich and one of them dramatically goes down to catch it.
Not wanting to lose their only snack, Rayman uses his paddle to go faster while Globox tries to extend his hand a bit to catch it early.
It was too late when the seagull grabbed the sandwich as the duo looked on.
Angered, Rayman uses his helico-hair as a boat engine to chase the animal.
Eventually, they stopped at the tallest monument in the city: The Statue of Teensie, where the seagull is located.
Rayman tells Globox to launch him to the top of it and does so by aiming at the top and launching him.
At the top of the statue, the seagull was going to eat the sandwich when Rayman lands down and begins to chase the seagull in circles.
The chase ends when the seagull is about to fly with the sandwich in his mouth but Rayman catches him by the leg.
Globox aims with the tongue and attempts to grapple the sandwich but it fails as the tongue hits it, falling down into the water.
Shocked, the limbless looks at his best friend with an annoyed look as Globox responds with nervous scratching in his head.
Rayman dives into the flooded ocean to catch the Jambon-Beurre but it was eaten by a fish as he desperately screams “NOOOO!!” before losing consciousness in the ocean.
Globox, feeling concerned for his buddy underwater, decides to save him by diving in and finds him unconscious.
He carries him and just before the blue frog goes back to the boat and tries to get him back to life, he finds a big drain that was placed in the river and pulls it out.
And then, the ocean began to die down by the drain and the city’s back to normal… sort of, because all the water in the river was drained too.
Rayman slowly opens his eyes and sees Globox but then remembers about the sandwich and wails in his chest, explaining to him the Jambon-Beurre was already lost to that fish.
Wondering what just happened underwater, Globox never minds it and goes to comfort him, he promised Rayman he would buy a shared Jambon-Beurre for themselves.
After Rayman stopped crying, Globox yawned and needed to go back to the spot he last slept on but not before he and Rayman waved goodbye to each other.
Two minutes later, Globox was back on the spot, still sleeping as he was before the flood-tastrophe.
Suddenly, he was once again woken up by Rayman’s off-key vocalizing again with his badly-played violin in a small bridge, but this time, Globox uses his earmuffs to cover his ears and smiles at him before slowly going back to sleep.
He’s hoping that Rayman’s horrible vocalizing would NOT cause another severe storm for now as long as he’s careful with his singing…
The End!
