Then he stops feeling someone hug him.
Glam: evie?
He look at his adoptive daughter, evie, hugging him, she was 13 years old, they had adopted her a while ago after dee found her, she had escaped from her abusive home, even if it took a while before she trusted everyone, but she did, and she was very attached to everyone, and they couldn’t blame her.
Evie: Hi daddy.
Glam: how are you?
Evie: I'm good………what are you making?
Glam: I'm making pancakes, I'm making sure there’s enough for everyone, and also some bacon for your mother.
Evie: she really likes bacon.
Glam: she sure does, and she hasn’t been able to eat it due to us being busy, and the store i usually go to ran out a while ago.
Evie: how do they run out of bacon?
Victoria:’pokes her head in’that’s what i said!
Evie: hi mommy!
Victoria: Hi Evie! Are you trying to steal a pancake?
Evie: nope, i just wanted to see what daddy was doing! And it also smells really good! And I also smelled chocolate.
Victoria: oooo, chocolate chips!
Glam:’chuckles and hands her a few’
Victoria:’smiles at him’thanks glam!
Glam: you’re welcome, Vicky!
Evie:’giggles and smiles at them’
Victoria:’pats her head’
Glam continues to make breakfast as evie continues hugging him, victoria raises an eyebrow at her, but shrugs and walks away, but stops when she notices there’s a huge plate of bacon, she drools a bit.
Evie: Mommy, don’t eat the bacon yet.
Victoria: but-
Glam: she’s right, Vicky, it’s for breakfast, and besides, you’ll be upset when there’s not a lot of bacon because you ate most of it.
Victoria: You know me too well, glam.
Glam: we have been married for years.
Evie: He's not wrong.
Victoria growls hearing laughter and sees her other kids on the stairs, then they quickly run off when they see that Victoria sees them.
Evie:’laughs’
Later…………
Dee:’listening to music as he was doing homework, he was writing down the answer to the problems and after a while, he finished, he opens his folder and puts the sheets in it, then he closes it and puts it in his backpack’there, now i can finally work on other stuff, maybe i should work on history-
Then he hears the door open and raises an eyebrow, it wasn’t time to eat, and he was just doing his homework, so who was opening his room door?
Dee: Hello?
Then he yelps when evie flops onto him.
Dee: evie!
Evie: hi!
Dee: evie, what are you doing in my room? I’m trying to do homework and you’re distracting me right now.
Evie: I don't see it.
Dee: That's because I just finished my math homework and now I'm going to be working on my history homework.
Evie: That sounds really boring.
Dee: It's called doing school work and I rather have a good grade so I don't get grounded for it, and learning this stuff means I can do business with other kids, I'm trying to save up for a new pair of headphones.
Evie: don't you already have some?
Dee: I know but the ones I'm looking for have a cool ass design, so I'm saving up to get them in case my earbuds stop working.
Evie: Wow.
Dee: So I'm going to do it.
Evie: You're really smart.
Dee: Thank you.
Evie: I bet this is why everyone goes to you for help, you're really smart and you're also kind enough to help them.
Dee: I help people to get money from them.
Evie: But you don't charge us money when we ask you for help with our homework, you just help us with it.
Dee: it’s called the family discount, evie.
Evie:...........that’s nice.
Dee:...........are you ok?
Evie: I wish my old family was nice.
Dee: well…………
Evie: I wish I was born in this family.
Dee: evie-
Evie:’sniffles and wipes her tears away’you know, My old family didn't really like it when I tried to hug them, they said I was too clingy, so I slowly stop doing that stuff……..but this family is so different from them, they don't call me clingy or a huge baby when I hug them, they appreciate it, they appreciate it so much.
Dee: Well, physical contact is how we bond.
Evie:’wipes her tears away’
Dee:’puts a hand on her shoulder’hey, don’t worry, you’re here now, you’re family, and we won’t let anyone hurt you.
Evie:............promise?
Dee: I promise.
Evie:’hugs dee’thank you for finding me that day……….i don’t know where i would be if you didn’t find me out there.
Dee: Well, what are siblings for?
Evie:’smiles nervously and holds up her homework’speaking of…….can you help me with my homework?
Dee: Is this why you came into my room?
Evie: I was also bored and had nothing else to do, plus, I got lonely and I had nothing else to do, and I wanted to hang out with you, you’re really cool, and……….i feel safe in this house, I don't have to be scared about anything.
Dee:’looks at her’
Evie: You're the best brother ever, Dee, I hope you know that, you’re the best brother ever, but don’t tell the others that.
Dee:’chuckles’my lips are sealed.
Evie:’hugs him’
Dee:’smiles and hugs back’
Later…………
Glam:'opens the door'dee, evie, time for-
Then he stops seeing evie and Dee doing homework.
Glam: do you two need more time?
Dee: ya, sorry dad, evie needs a bit of help with her homework so I'm helping her, but we can take a break to go down to eat.
Glam: wonderful because you two need energy.
Evie: I am getting pretty hungry, and I also want to get away from the homework before my brain explodes.
Dee: your brain is not going to explode.
Evie: it's a figure of speech, dee.
Dee: I know, evie, I know.
