Work Text:
It's been twelve days since Timekeeper cookie visited the now fully broken future timeline.
She sighed, staring at the ceiling. After all the office was rather boring to be in alone. She looked at the picture that Moccachino took of the future Croussaint and remembered their accidental meeting.
"Timekeeper? Is that really you?" The future alternative Crousanit said, staring at the
floating Cookie that was ahead of her. The spiral in their eyes twirling.
"Croissant—or should I say Director?"
Her sharp smile slightly widened, but it seemed to be hiding some emotion.
Croissant smiled back.
"It really is you."
"Why wouldn't it be me? Other than the fact that your version of me did what they did, I guess."
She shrugged. Before leaning towards the Director.
"Oh you're great at this, really. Better than me even!"
The Director took a moment to think, taking a deep breath as she did so.
"Thank you, truly. That-that means a lot."
She smiled, tears seeming to form in her eyes. She was on the edge of breaking and Timekeeper could see that, they could see that clear as day.
A part of timekeeper felt pity for this...rather easy to pity Director. Timekeeper simply held a smile on her face and gently wiped the tears on the Director's eyes.
"Unfortunately for you...I'm not really YOUR Timekeeper aren't I." Timekeeper quickly floated upwards: "After all a time pocket isn't really an attractive destination for me!"
The Director froze, staring at them with the look of a soldiers mother who just heard her husband died in the war.
"So you-you're not-"
"I would hurry up searching for them if I were you, maybe it isn't too late!" Timekeeper quickly said and teleported before she saw her face.
She didn't want to see that reaction.
