Work Text:
They all had their own little melody for each other.
Grace's name was a melodic jingle, a bundle of "Angel", "Saviour", "Holy", all wrapped into a single note.
Rocky's name was long, as was Adrian's, but the two names sounded similar to the untrained human ear yet vastly different to the eridian body.
Rocky's name would - somehow - shimmer as it was said, shining and sparking in the purest of tones, ending off in a high note that was as clear as water.
Adrian's name was slightly longer, made up for by the soothing and captivating melody amongst the highs and lows their voice carried.
Simon's was slightly different, there wasn’t an eridian word for his name, and even if there was the other three would never be able to agree on just one.
Simon's name differed between his three, from Grace, his name was as soothing as the notes Simon would sing when he wailed from a nightmare, from Rocky, his name was as tough as the exterior Simon would push between them and the others to keep them safe, from Adrian, his name was as deep and rich as the soil Simon showed them how to cultivate and work with.
Yes, all three had names for each other.
And no other eridian could speak it the way they could.
