Apo sat alone, at the edge of the bench. The breeze blew her hair in the wind. All she had known was that maze but once she got outside with Owen, her best friend had gone on a journey leaving her behind in this town called Pity. The sand always got in her sandals and she was endlessly fixing her house.
"Apo, time to come back inside! Dinner is ready." Another woman called to her from inside her home. It was Cherri. A women she had met a few years after she settled down. Apo didn't come inside yet. She was waiting for Owen. He had sent her a letter that he was coming back to where he had dropped her off. He was coming back to Pity. And he was going to come with a lady friend. She had told Graecie that Owen was coming and Graecie was also preparing and waiting, but... "Apo, you get in here right now! The food is getting cold. You can wait for your friend after supper." She yelled.
Apo got up, sighing, and turned to go inside but a voice made her stop in her tracks. "Yeah, you better go, wouldn't want her to get angry. I'll be here when your done." Owen's voice said from behind her. Apo turned, ran and gave her old friend a big hug.
"I missed you."
