Now this was originally gonna be a little tid-bit in my end notes for a fic I'm writing but I went and did what I always do by putting unnecessary details on smth nobody cares about. Thankfully I believe the best creations come from pure self indulgence so idgaf.
I don't know if other people feel this way or even picked up on this but I really like the pro-shot West-end version because it adds a layer to Kram that I find amusing. Like obviously in front of people Kram act with a certain bravado but when they're put unfamiliar situations they haven't been 'trained' or prepared for the two are presented as meek.
Take 'Our love is God' as an example. This changed to them being a lot more awkward and again acting very giddy about meeting with Veronica instead of the more slick attitude from the original (until of course they die) and from that I like to depict that Kram aren't as suave or confidant as they put themselves up to be (Bully characters being complex??? woah omg that's never been done before 😯😯). Like I headcanon that Kram can't be sociable without drinking, sad ik.
That's why I really like Morci on YT and all her animatics, and how her 'au' (or better said as a re-telling?) shows them to also be affected by the social system. They have their part in "beautiful" but other than that they're only seen abusing it, like when they try to get Veronica to sleep with them bc they think they're doing her a favour🤢.
But back to Morci, Kram (while still doing bad things) are shown to keep parts of themselves away bc of stigma and what people will think just like everyone else. It's honestly refreshing direction played out. I'm still pretty knew to the fandom, so presumably there's prolly fics I haven't read or other stuff that show this, and I will gladly consume.
Side notee but this is why I LOVE fannon cause I know that realistically it would take a really good writer to add this kinda depth while and not having it look like they're sympathising with white (prolly wealthy) homophobic rapist teen boys. If they did mess up that bad I wouldn't be surprised that scares of any one whose had that Idea or company's to not go for it in case of backlash. Need I mention the TV show....
And omg this wasn't even supposed to be about Krammmmm, like I know I opened with the two but it was meant to be a tid-bit that starts the convo. And by conversation I mean me talking to myself

Okay lets get back on track. Another thing I like about the pro-shot is that Ram is portrayed as more frantic (that awkwardness I mentioned before) in regards to Martha.
Instead of the normal scene in big fun where he makes fun of her, the pro-shot has him caught off guard (also he doesn't spit in her face, that's always a plus) where he seems more scared of being seen with her or anyone thinking he invited her intentionally.
So when he says 'Why do you gotta be so weird all the time, people wouldn't hate you if you just acted normal', it feels like Ram's being serious, like he genuinely believes that if Martha just conforms she wouldn't have to worry anymore, because that's the system he's been fed. 'It worked for me so it'll work for you'
Or there's the scene (in the Pro-shot) with the pinata where in the background you can see Ram not jeering at her when Mac singles her out, as if he's concerned. I like imagine that this version of Ram has at least platonic care for Martha from back when they were friends that's obvs been warped by the social system to the point he feels the fat jokes are fully light hearted and assumes 'it's not that deep, but Martha sure is' <--- (I HATE that I wrote this down, I AM SOOOO SORRY MARTHA 😭😭). but yeah in this scene when she's first in the spotlight he's actually scared for her as I infer she doesn't attend at all and has no idea what to do.
Then when people start clapping Ran's thinking 'She actually took my advice', feeling comfortable to cheer along.
Idk if this was ANY of this was an intentional direction given to the actor but I'm not complaining. Again, I could lit be hallucinating but I fear you have to with these two 🥹
AND OMG FIC IDEA I HAD LIT JUST NOW. Martha x Ram fic where obvs in cannon (to musical) the Heathers are watching Martha go up to Ram (I'm pretty sure this happens idk 😭) and they expect his cannon reaction of 'F-off dumptruck' but its the scared one instead. Mac and Duke are like yeah sure I wouldn't want to be seen with her either and laugh it off but Chandler sees past his and suspects Rams feelings. So instead of the piñata that leads to her doom, Chandler plays the long con using it against Ram. She already talks about having Kram on a 'tight leash' where they're all yes ma'am but this would basically add to it. So no more cow tipping activities or she'd tell is basically the plot.
I actually started this on a earlier night of sleep deprivation so I have no idea where I was gonna go with this so imma post before Ao3 deletes this draft :P
