Work Text:
The sign was almost bitter, starring Wemmbu in the face as the wind blew in his hair. The words ringing in his mind, making his head hurt and his thoughts seem to blur into a mess of quiet sobs and a chaotic mess.
Wemmbu couldn't understand why, everything had been so good, he and Mane had a good relationship and he just couldn't fathom why he would do this.
Wemmbu decided to call out to the lion, to look for him and ask him why, but when he tryd to speek his voice wouldn't comply, all that left was a chocked sob because only now it hit him. Mane was gone, he left. He was alone, again. Betrayed by one of the only pepole he could call a friend.
Wemmbu felt sick, he wanet to scream, to cry, to find his mentor and ask him why. Why would he do this. He wasn't a lost cause..? Right? He wasn't. He trained so hard and tried his best, there was no way.. right? There was no way that he could be a lost cause after everything, he was supposed to be strong not.. not however he's feeling right now. He didn't even hear register the sobs leaving his throat until it was too late, until he was I front of the sign, teras running down his cheeks and the sign starring bitterly in his face. He felt sick. He wanet to throw up but at most he was mad, so mad so, so, mad. He wasn't a lost cause and he will prove it, he will prove it to everyone, starting with himself till he will prove it to Mane.
Or at least he tryd.
Wemmbu had trained everyday, he had trained through sickness, broken bones, bleeding wounds. Through everything, he had really tried but when Mane was finally back, face to face with Wemmbu he lost, again. He lost his grip in the mace and had plummeted down, pooing his totem instantly leaving Mane just starting at him before muttering 'still a lost cause' under his breath.
Wemmbu's breathing was labours, as his wounds rapidly healed and the metallic taste of the totems chemicals filled his mouth and veins. His ears rung, blood filled his mouth. He wanet to throw up, he would throw up soon, really soon, he couldn't handle it. He had lost, he had really lost after training for so long, he had failed. He failed proving Mane wrong, he failed proving himself wrong. He failed everything.
When Wemmbu had finally came back to his senses and was looking for Egg, he noticed, Egg, his best friend had also left. He was alone. He was truly alone. He had nothing left, his gear had broken, Mane had left and even Egg had given up on him. Everything he had worked for was gone.
Wemmbu sighed, he was tired. So tired of.. everything. Taking one step off the edge of the mountain, he starred down at the rocks below, their spiky tips glinting in the afternoon sun as it slowly set. This was it, he was a lost cause and.. frankly that's it. He can't do anything about it. He placed his armour in a chest along side his maces and his crown in top of the chest. He could finally rest, he can finally have peace that maybe without him the work would be a bit better, a bit brighter. Maybe now that he'll be fine Flame will finally have his title. He hoped Egg would be alright because even if he left, Egg was still his closes friend and he truly hoped he would be alright. Taking a deep breath he stepped off. The air was cold, his fall was almost peaceful. He will finally be free. He can finally rest in peace after everything. He can finally have one last goodnight and finally be free.
Wemmbu was impailed by a on stalactite.
