Love Me Again.
Twotime sat outside the main cabin awaiting for when the Spawn would throw them into the next match. The other survivors were inside busy talking and laughing. They tried before in the past to talk, but the people here glare and criticise the Spawn. It didn't matter the occasion as they were always pushed away. The only person who ever saw them truely was Azure.
They really didn't need to think about him. Their past is over. Yet they still end up craving the relationship. The warmth from the sun landing on both of them as they go collect flowers. Hours wasted laughing and talking about nothing. His hand brushing agaisnt theirs for the first time and than immediately becoming a flustered mess.
They still remember when they confessed their feelings in the same flower patch the two always visited. The panic that rose up in their chest untill they heard Azure say yes. When everything just for one second felt normal. Life felt worth more than just worshipping the Spawn.
None of that mattered anymore though. They will never have that comforting presence in their life. The one chance they had at redemption giving away for the Spawn. Of course they believe the Spawn, as it is the only pritory in their life. Yet, sometimes they think too hard and hesitate on their beliefs just for a second. Azure. His name still screams in their brain every night.
A soft ticking noise rang from overhead. The sign that a match is starting. Another round of doing a round in this game of eternal suffering. This is what they deserve. It has to be the Spawn punishing them for being a horrible person who couldn't even do a proper sacrifice. If they prayed more, carved the symbols deeper, and devoted every single part of their body and mind to the Spawn maybe they would have a chance of redemption. A chance that they don't truely deserve.
They spawn into the map next to Taph and Chance in the space with the glasshouse. He immediately runs away to go put a tripwire in some very inconvenient place. Chance immediately starts flipping his coin with no concern about the amount of weakness they stack up. Ignoring these two idiots, they run to the house next to the mountain to carve the Spawn's symbol. Most of the killers would assume they weren't chosen for the map as long as they stay hidden. That's when they attack.
Their ritual setup is done and they give a quick prayer before running away. The amount of quiet they've had is a bit concerning. By this point someone would run in here to loop the killer. Right as they were about to leave, they saw a generator. Might not hurt just to finish it.
Twotime is not the best at connecting wires nor with puzzles. They've been trying to solve it for 20 minutes and have not even connected one wire. They gave up and went up the buildings stairs. Looking down at the map lays their fellow surviors' bodies. There is just one place the killer could be.
They turned around and attack with their knife hitting Azure. Azure? How did he get here? In a shock they took a step back and almost fell down. He looks different than the last time they saw him. Weird tentacles crawl out of his body and his iconic hat is weirdly purple.
They look up at Azure and ask, "How did you get here?!" Thousands of thoughts were racing through their mind. Their words slur together. "Dear Spawn. This is no good. Azure I promise that wasn't on purpose. I'm sorry I messed up the sacrificd."
His voice sounds like its going out through an old tv speaker. "That's the first thing you say? After all these years. You've never changed."
"I have changed Azure. I have been suffering in this hell because the Spawn is teaching me a lesson. A lesson that you never seemed to understand!"
His hollow eyes stare back at them. They were no longer gentle. "TwoTime. After everything we've been through, hell after everything you've put me through, you still don't understand. You never prioritise anything else besides the Spawn."
"Of course I would put the Spawn over everything else! That's how things work. The Spawn requires a sacrifice and you were perfect."
"Did you even love me?"
Everything TwoTime thought of Azure disappears immediately. Of course they love him. He was the only reason they held on for so long. Their knife drops to the floor. The world is spinning around them but they managd to get out some words.
"Of course I love you! I miss you every day. I pray to the Spawn hoping to see your face again and this is how you treat me? Like I was the one pushing you away? Dear Spawn, I did all of this for you! Being with the Spawn is a great offer and you deserve it."
The tentacles on Azure's back move closer to them. "That's what you're going out with? I deserved it? I won't waste time worrying about you anymore."
TwoTime tries to jump off the ledge of the house but Azure's weird tentacles cath them.
"You don't get to go away that easy."
He grabs TwoTime's knife out of their hands. The handle fitting perfectly in his hands. He held it before he got stabbed. Held it and admired the craftsmanship of the object. Now all he could do is cut them up in the exact same way they did all those years ago.
After losing a couple limbs and an egregious amount of Spawn symbols incarvings they return to the main cabin. The others look at them strangly. Just like they always do. Their knife is back in their belt loop. Just another killer they will have to deal with and ignore all the history they have together. After all these years they finally learned that Azure did not love him. At least they still had the Spawn.
