Notes:

AUTHORED BY Snowberry-Vernia

This is the rewritten version. I merely just added additional dialogues and rephrased some sentences. Mostly targeting the awkward scenarios and my past writing skills back when i still was 5 years-ago fresh from my last fanfic writing. Idk if i will plan to refresh chapters SALVIA and AZALEA, but hmm that's for the future since i am pretty much still satisfied for both of those chapters' flow. (Also, if you didn't notice i changed the illustrations, giving Longtian her slightly longer hair so it's more accurate to canon.)

Chapter 1: I. Peonies, for the blossoming feelings inside

Chapter Text

Every ordinary day, that was Vielle's everyday. Tending flowers, tending orders. That's most of it, really. It wasn't like her shop was known to get much orders anyways. Besides, the breeze carrying out her fresh blossoms' scents are enough to make her day... That was until her shop's quaint little doorbell rings, signalling a customer. A customer that one wouldn't notice on first glance.

But for Vielle, it was immediate.

Surely, not much knows of her around these areas. But she, knows that face very well from the magazines, and posters her brother has sent over back from China.

Just one name, comes up to mind,  A name of greatness, of heights above.
A name, a beautiful name. A name she remembered, that even if she goes years and months without seeing it, it comes back in perfect memory. Perfectly like the return of blossoms on late winter's plum tree.

李龙天。

我肏,What was a big shot like her doing in such a simple, and modest flower shop. Vielle practically scrambled back to her spot on the counter, fixing herself and all that. Wait, let us rephrase that.

Today wasn't an ordinary day, TODAY IS A CRAZY DAY. Unexpected VIP clients? Vielle did NOT sign up for this. "Chrysanthemums and Lilies"... A voice calls, it sounded as if she was submerged in water… Chrysanthemums and lilies? It only hit her now that THE Li Longtian was actually ordering flowers, and infront of the counter, waving her hand on eye-level, finally enough to grab her attention. Upon finally coming to her senses, she didn't know if Longtian gave out a small chuckle or if her mind was tricking her so.

"You were… Quite frozen on the spot. Figured i might've need to come closer." She smiled, as her once-waving hand slowly lowered to her chest, as she exhale a relief that the shop manager has finally came to her senses. "Those chrysanthemums and lilies by the front. They seem quite happy there, and i happen to catch their attention. I'd love to get them." Vielle watched as her expressions shifted smoothly from concerned to relief, to eagerness, nodding along trying to catch up with Longtian as she spoke. Vielle wrote down her order on a reciept and left the counter so she could quickly waltz her way toward the Chrysanthemums and Lilies displayed upfront, her heels making little clacks as they hit the wooden floor. Upon retrieval, she hastily returned to her desk, clacking on the floor audibly different and faster than the ones she took before.

Vielle rapidly, but carefully and meticulously arranged the ordered flowers, half anxious of the results, while caring for each flower she arranges in a bundle. It was almost like, muscle memory... Longtian watched her, who would have known the nearest flower shop she visited out of convenience could offer such satisfying floral services.

"Tell me, how is a store like yours so small compared to the others out with the most common and boring flowers… I see you got quite alot of diverse blooms, and well… It just seems pretty convenient to get everything you want here.", The model inquired, suddenly starting a conversation with the flower shop owner. "Well, i don't really know but it's pretty convenient to have lesser clients sometimes. It just means i have more time to tend to your orders especially.", Vielle huffed out a smile. She wasn't really one out for fame, her little shop was merely just a way for her to have a job and do something in her spare time eitherway.

Having thought of that, the florist have finished up and even packed the flowers with neat little ribbons hugging it together so it doesn't spring out and fall off, reaching out and giving the bundled bouquet to Longtian, the very flowers she ordered.

"Thank you," Longtian exclaimed, now cradling the arrangement she purchased. With an exchange of little nod-bows she took her leave.

.....

"You've been staring at me for far too long, have i captivated you?" Longtian's expression was now a gentle-playful one as she spun looking back at the florist's eyes back at her.

"Indeed you have, Miss Li. Like a little fly stuck to a spider web." It was one of Vielle's mistakes to say that. Li Longtian never introduced herself, and yet you could hear her giggle. "更像是被抓住的那我了".Longtian blurted, Vielle didn't catch most of it, however.

"Don't worry, in this country you're just a Li Longtian." Vielle rested her elbows on the counter desk, chin ontop of her palms. "Y'know. None of that model thing, probably just a few of people here know you, and if i were them i would just let you scot off with a crime." Whatever she was saying, It sounded quite funny once she finished saying it. Of course it was already quite obvious almost nobody knows her here, And by the looks of Longtian, she seems confused by what she just said. Oh may  the gods just strike herself down already, Vielle prayed as the very hands used to rest her chin now cover her face in shame…

"You know, we'll probably see each other again. Especially your flowers." Longtian gave a smile, and actually took her leave. Vielle got a glimpse of it but she wasn't so sure if it was a forced smile, a reassuring smile, or a genuine smile meant to laugh at her. But eitherway, Longtian's smile was beautiful. Much much beautiful than the one in posters and magazines.

She was lucky enough to see it. Vielle is soooo telling Nian about this.

——–——

Another ordinary day, somehow she was scouted to do floral props. Weird, it was almost as if it was word of mouth. Vielle brushed off the thought of it, Longtian surely wouldn't have— No. She did.

This is another, not an ordinary day. Tell me HOW is she hired to do Longtian's small little event, why was she seeing this gorgeous woman once again for the second time this month. Who would've known, that the model specifically got the managers to get her to do the decor. Who would've known.

Vielle couldn't stop thinking of her. How would she explain to Nian about the crazy things occuring. It was as if somebody, a creator is typing out her story out for her. Everything feels so scripted..... (it is).

In her local shopping malls around her area, Longtian is in the shoes, jewelry, and perfumes sections. Buying everything she wanted, the ususal. Vielle sees her everywhere too oddly regularly,Even while she shops for antiques in secondhand stores. This woman drives her crazy, too crazy in fact...

She even might like her.

But hey,it's pretty normal to like-like celebrities. Vielle shrugs her interest off as a simple and mere celebrity crush. One that is just another experience a girl goes through. But maybe… She thinks, just like young girls in their fifteens dreaming of boys. Imagining a fantasy of shared laughs, holding hands, dates, kissing…

Hands on her face, Vielle hides from that thought. There is literally no such way for her to like her back. Vielle reaches for the hairpin of purple chalcedony butterfl— Longtian's hand— Vielle has quickly retracted, eyes wide. There she was again.

李龙天。

Does she just spawn everytime she thinks of her... "Ah, miss Li..." What the fuck Vielle, who said you can softly speak like tha—

"Pleasure to see you again, Miss la Vernia."

Okay Vielle you're on your own... You brought this upon yourself. "That hairpin..."

Longtian looked at the pin she held. Nodding, "Magnificent isn't it. Did you want it?" Her eyes shifted to the side, as if specifically targeting Vielle.

"Yeah."

Stupid Vernia. You should've just let her have it... Vielle gave a little gasp at the realization, tried to sieze the hairpin to buy for herself, however Longtian was far too fast and grabbed it first, and walked to the cashier... Well okay she wanted it afterall and that was awkward i guess...

With cards registering and the fold of packaging stop, sounds of shoes approaching replaced it. A little giftbag dangles infront of Vielle, who was now browsing the various secondhand antique brooches displayed.

No, she bought it for you.

Vielle flushed...  confused.

"Take it as a tip for your services..."  Longtian explained, Vielle blinked. "I didn't even serve you to be receiving this..." but Longtian let go of the little giftbag and Vielle catched it with her two hands.

The newly bought hairpin was now forced upon Vielle's hands. There was no more room for rejection.  "Thank.... You..." she awkwardly gave her super awkward signature head-nod-bow things…

Longtian smiled. She probably found that funny, good job Vielle... She's probably frying her insides, embarassed while fawning over Longtian.

"So... Are you willing to go shopping for more?" Longtian's voice rang... Vielle hummed for a thought, "Maybe next time. I need to sort myself out after what you just did." She blurted.

Longtian nodded, smiling... "Next time then?"

Vielle then realized. SHE WANTS TO SHOP WITH HER???

"Yeah.... sure..." Vielle softly replied, still shy and probably will regret all this later.

Longtian slipped a contact card. It was really.... Beautiful. Not as beautiful as it's  beholder, although for sure it was an accurate reflection of who owns it...

Vielle dug her pockets for her's... She did not have a card.... Just a pressed flower bookmark, but she had to make do. Vielle wrote her number and email and whatnot on it, thank goodness she brought a spare pen with her in her pocket... An exchange of contacts was made as Longtian accepted the simple floral bookmark of the simple florist... "You better reply." Longtian threatened a joke out, tucking the contact in...

"Yeah i will...." Vielle has gotten herself in a black hole she can't get out of.

Seems like starting now,she can never get enough of this woman.
