Chapter Text
17 year old Anakin Skywalker immediately went upstairs to his room after getting home from school. Setting his backpack down, knowing very well that he will eventually end up pushing his English reserch paper off till the last minute, he hopped on his Xbox and booted up the Minecraft realm and waited for his friends, Ben, Ahsoka, Rex, and Cody to get online.
One by one, the group joined the game as Anakin set up his twitch stream. Once everything was situated, he clicked the Go Live button to start the stream.
"What is up, chat," Anakin said as more and more people join the live, "welcome back to another livestream, and we are once again on Minecraft realm continuing where we left off last time, working on the villager trading hall."
Anakin multi-tasked working on getting the villagers from the breeding area to the trade hall while also talking to the chat, which now had 66 people in it. While he was preoccupied with a villager that refused to get in the minecart, he noticed a random chest with a sign that read to: skyguy from: snips. Against his better judgment, he decided to open the chest only to fall in to a pit of dripstone.
"Haha," Ahsoka said in the discord call, "that's payback for last time, Skyguy."
"To be fair," Ben said, trying not to laugh himself, "you did deserve it for messing with her creeper farm."
"Yeah, man," Cody said, agreeing with Ben, "you kinda did it to yourself by letting all the creepers loose when you messed with it as a prank."
"Oh, get Ben's dick out of your mouth, Cody," Anakin said, causing an instant reaction out of the chat, including a random person spamming the got 'em meme, "how was i supposed to know that would happen, if anything, Ahsoka needs to improve her Redstone so that doesn't happen again."
"Dang," Rex, said trying to defuse the situation, "i know this is sort of irrelevant at the moment, but the Minecraft movie releases in theaters next Friday, how about we go see it."
"Rex," Ahsoka said getting an idea, "you're a genius."
"Honesty," Ben said remembering everyone at school hyping up the movie, "that's not a bad idea."
"Yeah," Anakin said agreeing with his friends, "Jack Black is literally playing Steve, not to mention all the memes people on TikTok have made and the movie isn't even out yet."
"Did you guys also hear," Cody said already anticipating the group's reaction, "there's going to be cameos from different Minecraft YouTubers like DanTDM, Aphmu, LDShadowlady, Mumbo Jumbo, and even a small tribute to Technoblade."
"I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since we lost the legend that made this game what it is," Anakin said as Technoblade never dies was being spammed in chat, "i remember that I punched a hole in my wall when I found out about his passing, my mom never found out since I covered it with a poster."
"I remember that," Ben said, recalling that day, "i was staying the night at your house, we had a bonfire and launched a firework in his honor."
"I found out about Techno's passing through TikTok," Ahsoka chimed in remembering that summer vividly, "i thought it was a joke at first until I watched the official video, Kaeden and I spent the rest of that night cuddling and eating junk food."
"Honesty, valid," rex said as he and his twin brother returned from mining in-game, "Cody and I were at summer camp when we found out, let's just say, our cabin was the quietest it's ever been those 2 weeks."
"So it's settled," Anakin said in the same smug tone that he uses when he comes up with an idea, "next Friday we're going to see the Minecraft movie."
After the stream ended and everyone logged off for the night, Anakin sat on his bed and practiced the song he's been learning on guitar for the past month as his dog, Artoo, laid by his feet and his cat, Threepio, silently judged him from the doorway.
