Chapter Text
Math class was so slow that the moment the bell rang, Octavia felt that she was brought from a death . She was always good in school but even she had to admit Math didn't interest her.
She gathered her things and left to go to her locker. It was on the way to her favorite subject, History, so the she didn't need to worry about being late. The halls were quite crowded and she kept getting bumped into.
As she was getting close to her locker, she caught a glimpse of a cowgirl hat that covered beautiful blonde hair and sky blue eyes, which belonged to someone she held quite the admiration for. That being Sally Smith.
Octavia had known Sally for quite a while. She would sometimes chat with her and even worked on projects with her in History. She couldn't help but sometimes take glances at her, one time even getting caught though Sally never mentioned it.
Sally was talking and laughing with a group of other girls. Octavia was passing by as she heard somethin.
"Whats with that girl you sit by in History? The one the long brown hair and is a complete nerd for Greek mythology?" said one of the girls. "She seems to really like you as she is always looking at you. Is she your lesbo lover?"
The grouped laughed. Octavia didn't think they could see her but she doesn't believe they would hold back their words even if they did.
Hearing such words felt liked she'd been kicked but she wanted to hear what Sally would say so she hid behind a corner close by.
"Of course not!! I'm not no lesbo!! And even if I was why would I like such an ugly ducklin' anyway?" she laughed. The group joined her.
Hearing those words felt like she was stubbed in the heart with a dagger. Octavia was not delusional, she knew that that her affection would never be returned but to hear Sally speak so little of her broke her heart even more.
She pushed herself off the wall and rushed to her locker out of sight while thinking she was so stupid for ever thinking she could like someone like Sally.
After grabbing her notebook for History, she walked quickly to class so she would not be late. As she was walking in and towards her desk, she noticed that Sally was smiling and waving "Hi" to her.
With anger growing inside her, she scowled and sat down, not paying the girl any attention.
