Drinky Drink

Summary:

Lloyd is done with life. Rants to this old guy they suggest vodka. Feels conflicted but gives in and gives it a shot.

Notes:

Aged up at 10 to 14 currently 17

I’ve got tipsy once a few months ago. Don’t remember it the best but that’s what I’m basing majority of my alcohol knowledge on.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Just drink your problems away

The amount of times Lloyd had heard that phrase over the years... He wondered if it really made things better. It was such a self destructive coping mechanism. Like no thanks he enjoyed his functioning liver.

That was over a year ago. Since then things had changed drastically. He'd gain so many friends, lost double. Everything was on him. Some good things, most people only want to point out your screw ups though.

Lloyd stared in the mirror questioning who was really there. He wasn't even in the right body. At first when he was struck with tomorrow's tea he thought it was the coolest thing ever...... in reality it was the most unsettling thing ever.

He should be turning 14 next week not 18. His birth certificate said turning 14 but he wasn't really. Lloyd looked over his body. He saw 16 minimum not 14.

That was just his body. His mind was a completely different story. He remembers immediately feeling more mature, but lacking any knowledge or meaningful memories he would have gained through the years. He was just as dumb as before just with different tastes. So technically was his mind still 14 just mature or 18?

Kai called him immature the other day but Jay was older than him and always acted 10. Then again it was Jay... and he's not the green ninja.

Lloyd sighed turning to the bag on the stool. When unloading his life story on a complete stranger this was not how he'd expected it to go.

"That's rough kid." The man stroked his beard eyeing the street. "I think I got just what you need." The man handed Lloyd a plastic bag full of cans. “Trust me, it'll help significantly."

Lloyd peered in the bag cringing as he read the label. The ninja would kill him for touching the bag. Lloyd quickly shoved the bag back in man's arms.

"I-I shouldn't even be touching those." The man chuckled handing Lloyd the bag back. “I’m way under the drinking age I don’t even-“

"When you're basically at rock bottom you start to crave bad decisions." Lloyd felt like he should leave but his feet stayed still and ears listen intently. "You know they're wrong... but the comfort, the relief, you become so desperate for." The man had an expression Lloyd couldn't make out as he looked up at the sky. "There’ll help." The man gestured to the bag. "Just try it. What you crave is in reach." The man began to walk away leaving a panic Lloyd calling after him.

What was he suppose to do with three cans of vodka soda!?

"Strawberry dragon fruit." Lloyd's hand shook as he reached out to pop off the tab.

“You want to do stupid things”

Maybe Lloyd did want to be an idiot... especially just for one night. He was under so much stress, breathing had became an unattainable dream. He was ready to jump off a cliff at this rate and end it all. He deserved one night to let loose. Right?

The alcohol stench hit him like a train. His nostrils were not ready for that. Lloyd brought the can to up debating life. His hand shook as he pushed it against his lips. He took a deep breath, and got to it.

“Drink your problems away”

With one gulp Lloyd began chugging the can. It wasn't that bad. Tasted pretty good actually. In another second the can was empty. Lloyd threw the can in the trash turning to the two others on his stool. Maybe he should have took his time with the one.

He stood in silence keeping his gaze on the other two cans. What the fuck is he even doing! He's the green ninja! He shouldn't be-

Lloyd hesitated as he went to throw the last two cans away.

Drink your problems away

Oh how he wanted to do that… It became an itch in the back of his throat. He's a mature responsible being 90% of the time would it really hurt....

Lloyd grabbed the pineapple orange letting the smell sink in as he pulled the tab. It really wasn't that bad. Kind of relaxing. He took a sip. Pretty good. Better than the dragonfruit.

Lloyd sat on his bed watching YouTube occasionally taking sips. After about 20 minutes his chest began to throb. Probably nothing. Maybe just an after effect.

Around the 40 minute mark this stomach began twisting and turning. No problem….. Lloyd would be a lair if he didn't admit he was starting to become a little concerned.

After another five minutes later Lloyd headed to the bathroom very slowly using the wall for support. His head was starting to hurt. Uughhh. Just as Lloyd opened the door he couldn't take it anymore. Vomit came spilling out all over the floor. Shit. He ran to the toilet heaving more up.

His throat was as fire. He vomited another three times Lloyd leaned against the wall breathing hard as he caught his breath. He was sweating like crazy.

He sighed scanning the room. He had to clean this up before ninja got back. He groan standing up heading to the closet for some cleaning supplies. Lloyd just wanted to die on his bed under fuzzy blankets.

It didn't take to long to clean up. Just extremely disgusting and draining. The smell of alcohol was strong. He had to vomit again right before leaving. Dam he was so thirsty.

He grabbed a big bowl and a water bottle before heading off to his room. His stomach was twisting and turning. It hurt like hell.

He sighed rolling in bed. He ran a hand through his sweaty curls untangling a few knots. “Uughh.” Lloyd sat up slightly grabbing his water. This time he slowly took sips. His throat was begging for liquid. Chugging it didn’t seem smart with this stomach so upset. Then again it’s not like he’s been the brightest.

Lloyd groan placing the bottle back on the nightstand. He wanted to lay down but that took so much energy. Lloyd lunged for the bowl vomiting again.

Lloyd slowly pushed himself back on his bed breathing hard. He didn’t know how long he lay there in pain twisting and turning in his blankets.

He hadn’t been in this much pain in a while. His head was pounding, his stomach felt like it was going to kill him, and his throat was dry as hell. He recently discovered drinking water just made him vomit… so that was great. Maybe he could get away with a microscopic sip, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to risk it yet.

More time pasted. All Lloyd wanted to do was sleep. His body wasn’t allowing anything like that. Soon things began to change though. It was like he was floating and the pain just vanished. Well kinda he could feel it… it was just numbed kinda. It was confusing but he didn’t care.

He soon began mumbling nonsense and laughing. It felt good. Amazing. Like he was floating in cloud town. He was so happy….

He continued laughing at the nonsense he spoke before finally drifting off. That only lasted 40 minutes most.

Lloyd awoke immediately lunging over his bed vomiting once again. Oh he was so sick of throwing up. It tore at his throat more and more each time.

Now that the fun part was gone Lloyd was back to twisting and turning. He went to the bathroom a few times to splash water on his face and vomit. Things just got worse.

Lloyd leaned against his wooden headboard panting heavily. He took the time to reflect on somethings. Then his thoughts brought him to tonight.

The pain sucked. Definitely in top five most painful experiences no doubt. He wiped more sweat off his forehead. It kept getting hotter and hotter.

When he was floating…. That was amazing… almost worth the pain. ALMOST. Maybe next time if he can get
more he’ll just have a much smaller portion, and pace himself way better.

Ugh He was such a disgrace to his legacy for even thinking like that. The green ninja doesn’t get drunk. The green ninja shouldn’t even glance at alcohol!

Lloyd screamed in his pillow. This was hell. He wanted to go back to fluffy cloud land o-or just for these thoughts and pain to end so he could sleep.

Sleep was just a wish. Who knew how many hours of agony passed. Lloyd tried eating a granola bar. He threw it up in seconds.

After more hell Lloyd was finally able to drift off. Who knew the time he couldn’t fine his phone anywhere but the sky was starting to lighten up.

“Shhiitt.” Lloyd rolled off his bed colliding with the wooden floor. Just one more thing to add to the pain list. No biggie. Lloyd began to pant more. He wanted to tare his body apart it was so hot.

He hastily made his way to the bathroom as fast as possible soaking himself with cold water. Still so hot ughdjendjw. Felt worse than before.

Lloyd threw his shirt to ground as the world went dizzy. He grasped onto the sink staring at his reflection. He looked like he got hit by a bus.

His grip wobbled. He wobbled. A loud ringing sound echoed through the room. Where was that even coming from? Shapes began to disappear replaced with a gray blur.

Oh it was so hot so hot he couldn’t-

Lloyd groan as he slowly blinked. He was on the floor. How did that happen? He was holding on to the sink a second ago then it just went black… how long had he been sitting here.

He begrudgingly stood up leaning against the wall for support. His left palm dripped blood. Where could he even cut himself?

Lloyd shook his head making his way back to his room. He had more important measures to deal with.

He didn’t make it far before he clasped to the ground again. The world just became so blurry.

“Lloyd? Lloyd?” Lloyd heard a shadowy figure rambling around him.

“W-w-who’s th-t-there ugh.” Lloyd slurred his words together before clasping into another persons grasp. He began laughing.

“Lloyd?” The figure took a whiff of his cloths and frowned. “You’re drunk.” Lloyd continued mumbling. The figure sighed picking him up.

He was placed on a soft bed with a sheet wrapped around him. “Stay here.” The figure came back with a cup of liquid. “Drink it slow.” It had a weird taste but his throat couldn’t complain.

The figure took a seat next to him rubbing his back. Lloyd sighed leaning into the man’s touch finally feeling relaxed. His heavy eye lids couldn’t take it anymore and dropped.

-

The sunlight shined bright in Lloyd’s eyes. He groaned in pain as he rolled over. He felt horrible. His head barely hurt but it was still there. Everything felt groggy. Like there was gunk stuck in his gears.

Lloyd huffed grabbing a near by bowl on the nightstand. He stared in the plastic blue bowl waiting for it to come. He just continued to wait.

Since when was his bowl clean? Lloyd looked around the room taking in all the red and fire decorations. Now he remembered what happened last night. He was screwed.

“Hey green bean. Nice to see you’re awake.” Kai slide through the door with his signature cocky smirk shining bright.

Lloyd let out a sour sigh bring the blanket up to his shoulders. “So, how do you feel?” Kai took a backward seat on his spiny chair leaning his head on the back.

Lloyd gave him a side eye before quickly turning back to bowl. Just like before it just felt like he had to vomit.

“You’re experiencing dry heaving. You feel like you’re gonna throw up most likely won’t. Still a bitich to experience. Especially after drinking a whole can and a half of vodka soda. That’s some strong stuff little dude.”

Lloyd’s tired eyes landed on Kai as his curls slipped in front of his eyes. “You look like shit.”

“No dip Sherlock.” Lloyd’s voice was raspy and small. He hated it. He was suppose to be the leader of the team but look at him now.

“Take these.” Kai handed him some pills and a gatorade. He mumbled thanks quickly taking them from Kai’s hand. “Still drink slow. Trust me on this.”

The two sat in silence. At least seven minutes. “So, was it worth it?” Lloyd shrugged brushing his greasy hair out his face. He felt a dip on the bed but refused to turn. “We’re all here for you if you ever need to talk…. Or a break. Anything.” Lloyd pulled his hand away from Kai’s.

The green ninja shouldn’t need to rely on others. It just hurt the team and add another fail to the list.

“Lloyd-“

“Leave me alone.” Lloyd jolted off the bed faster than a hungover guy ever should. He grabbed on to Kai’s headboard for dear life well rubbing his eyes.

When Kai saw the gaze Lloyd turned to him with his heart shattered. “I’m fine. I don’t need you or anyone. I’m doing great.” His voice cracked. “If anything do me a favor and leave me alone.” Lloyd mumbled angrily as he left the room.

Maybe Kai had let some observations go too far. Hopefully it wasn’t too late to help a bean out.

-

Lloyd shoved whatever was in his reach to the floor. Some things cracked or shattered, he didn’t care. He flopped on his bed letting tears fall. When would this nightmare end.
