Prom night.
Just two more days away. C00lkidd struggled to find a partner to dance with. Other kids doesn't like them. Not to mention Mia already rejected his offer. He tried asking Pr3typriincess, but just like everyone else, she rejected him.
Who knew finding a friend was hard? They've always said that making friends is easy! His dad even said it! What other things did they lie about?
C00lkidd, who was about to give up, was then approached by a girl. She looked at him, smiling at him. She opened her mouth to ask,
"Do you want to be my partner?"
"And I, of course, accepted it!" C00lkidd pulled Bluudud close—veryyyy close—to his face, they are very excited to dance with this random girl he just met. Bluudud then pushed himself away from C00lkidd, rolling his eyes. "So? I didn't ask for you to explain the whole thing, y'know!" He replied, visibly irritated at the sudden pulling and was probably even MORE irritated when C00lkidd started to yap about what happened. C00lkidd stared at him for a while before laughing at him. "I'm just- really REALLY excited to meet her!" They replied, sitting on Bluudud's bed and kicking their legs.
"You barely even know her, how are you so excited about this?" Bluudud crossed his arms and looked at them, looking at their joy filled expression. They seem to be very happy about this...
"Well.. Maybe because I was never asked before! It was always me to ask first.."
"Yeah, well, you're unlikeable!"
"Hey! I got a prom partner and YOU don't! I'm WAYY more likeable than you!" C00lkidd immediately grew defensive. Bluudud felt his eye slightly twitch. Hearing C00lkidd's loud voice and the sudden comparison. While—that is true—Bluudud is homeschooled, it was still a punch to the gut.
"W-well, my followers from Twitch says otherwise, so- HAH!" Bluudud then blew a raspberry, or a blueberry? C00lkidd does the same and growled at him. "...Did you seriously just-"
"I was just about to ask you to help me learn how to slow dance but nevermind!"
Slow dancing? Is he SERIOUSLY gonna have a cheesy dance with a girl he barely knows about??
"I don't know how to slow dance! Why are you even asking me?" Bluudud replied, his expression had a small hint of confusion. He literally told C00lkidd a few months ago that he only knows how to do Fortnite dances and that's it! Not romantic, slow dances! That's just not his thing.
C00lkidd stared at him.
They didn't answer.
"... You don't know either, don't you?"
"Yeah no i don't."
With a sharp, tired inhale. Bluudud pinched the bridge of his nose(?) and sighed. "Okay- okay fine! I'll help. ONLY because you'll bother me about it, and I don't want you embarrassing yourself." Bluudud said the last sentence quietly, not wanting to see like he cared about C00lkidd's well-being.
He knows how those kids acts around them. He had seen it before, he wouldn't risk it happening again.
God, he hated seeing C00lkidd cry. It was weird but oddly heartbreaking.
C00lkidd beamed with joy and immediately dragged him along, getting his ipad to watch a simple tutorial on how to slow dance.
Bluudud stared at their joyful expression, he couldn't help but smile at it.
Not too long for him to realize that he's smiling at THEM, he quickly frowned and snapped his arm away from theirs, backing up and let them place down their ipad.
C00lkidd typed in the YouTube search bar for slow dancing tutorials and manages to find a simple tutorial. "This one seems easy enough!"
They say, clicking the video and standing up. They stood next to Bluudud, who seems to be thinking about something. Thinking if this is worth his time or not. Not to mention he's dancing with C00LKIDD, OUT OF ALL PEOPLE!!
C00lkidd doesn't seem to care much about it and only needed his help, after all. Pushing down the nervous feeling, they watched the video starting.
It was an ad.
"Oh, come on!" Bluudud yelled at the Ipad before the ad stopped and let the video play. C00lkidd looked at him for a bit, giggling at his reaction.
Bluudud glanced at them, elbowing them afterwards.
A lady with her partner then appeared on the screen. "Hello, everyone! Today, we're going to teach you how to slow-"
Without hesitation, C00lkidd sped up the video to the main point. They don't got all day, afterall! As the video was now at the main point, both of them listened closely.
"First, you have to pick who's the leader for the dance."
"DIBSTOBETHELEADER!" C00lkidd immediately yelled out to Bluudud, they both stared at eachother, then Bluudud starts to pick his ear at the sudden yelling. "Yeesh- I get it-" he grunts, the yelling must've hurt his ears easily
"The leader must follow these steps; left to the side, tap. Then, right to the side, tap."
C00lkidd then nodded and followed her stepping. It was pretty simple, nothing too serious like breakdancing.
"Then, the follower has to do the same thing but the opposite! Left to the side, tap. Right to the side, tap."
Bluudud raised a brow and looked over at C00lkidd who stared at him, wanting to see him try. He quickly avoids their gaze and tried it out himself. C00lkidd then pointed out a mistake,
"You're supposed to-"
"Then, rotate your right foot to make it easier! You can turn a small angle."
C00lkidd nodded, they seem to understand this pretty quickly. But Bluudud? Not so much. He's not dumb, or anything. This is just really confusing personally to him.
"Now, since we're done with the steps, time for the exciting part! How to hug your partner!"
Wait- hugging??? Bluudud immediately snapped his head to C00lkidd. Him? Hugging C00lkidd?? Gross!
He doesn't want to hug them! They might get their redness on him!!-
Ohhh no. NO.
C00lkidd paused for a bit. Hugging? Bluudud? He needs to hug him? Well, he doesn't mind it but..
...
It's a bit nerve wrecking for some reason. They never really thought of hugging him before. Most of the time he just hits the back of his head for his attention!
"The leader and the follower must face eachother."
With that simple instruction, C00lkidd was already facing him while nervously fidgeting. Bluudud, on the other hand, slowly and dramatically faced them. Like he was doing this against his will.
C00lkidd looked over at the video again, noticing that both of the couple are veryy close to eachother. C00lkidd then took one step closer to Bluudud, which Bluudud starts to internally panic.
What is he doing?! Bluudud thought.
I'm just following the steps, no biggie. C00lkidd reassures themselves.
"The leader must put their right foot in the middle."
C00lkidd then does what the video told them to. They looked directly at Bluudud's eyes, seeing him looking away from their glance. Their eyes relaxed at the sight of him. Funny, isn't it? Being this near to Bluudud made them anxious, but looking at him makes them feel.. oddly peaceful.
Safe, even.
"The follower must put their left hand behind their partner's neck."
Bluudud then looked back at them, putting his hand behind their neck. "Bluudud, that's your right." C00lkidd corrected. "Oh- I uh. I KNEW THAT!" He immediately placed his other hand instead. C00lkidd just laughed at him, smiling oddly softly towards him.
Their facial expression was.. Peculiar to Bluudud.
"The leader must put their right hand on the follower's waist."
Bluudud stared at C00lkidd placing their right hand on his waist, his face felt hot. They were very close to one another, he can hear their heartbeat.
And also, why is his heartbeat beating so fast?! What he HECK is happening?!?!?
C00lkidd felt Bluudud tense at the sudden contact, they'd then held his hand to calm him down. They knew Bluudud isn't really a fan to physical touch. And since Bluudud helped them to have a small practice on slow dancing, they wanted to return the favor too.
C00lkidd was never the type to help people. He doesn't about them unless they helped him with something.
C00lkidd listened to the last instruction on how to embrace your partner, which was holding their hand, then started to attempt slow dancing.
It didn't last long since Bluudud fell. He stepped on the wrong foot, which was the mistake C00lkidd tried to correct him.
"Uugh- why didn't you tell me!?" Bluudud snapped, rubbing his arm.
"I was about to but I was trying listening to the video too." C00lkidd simply replied back, making Bluudud grumble at their response.
"Let's try again!" C00lkidd held out their hand, helping Bluudud up from the ground. They went back to the same position and looked at eachother. Even if Bluudud avoided C00lkidd's gaze, again.. C00lkidd knew that he was just nervous.
He is very understanding to Bluudud, afterall. Of course they know what he's feeling.
They tried again. Failed.
They tried it again. Also failed.
They tried it one last time. They got the hang of it.
It was pretty simple, but sometimes C00lkidd's speed might become way too fast to keep Bluudud in track. And Bluudud is very clumsy with his footwork, making him step on C00lkidd's toes and nearly get them tripped.
Despite the frustrating failed attempts, C00lkidd still laughed. Still having the same, cheerful smile they always wore.
Bluudud is, admiringly, jealous of them. They are so happy with everything, it's like nothing affects them at all. Even if nobody seems to like them, they still smile at almost everything. He's not sure if that's their resting face or if it's forced but, they just looked so...
Bright.
Bluudud admires them, but he will never say it out loud. That's C00lkidd, a boy that nobody likes. A boy no one cares about.
A boy.
He wouldn't be caught dead dancing with a boy like him. But, here he is. Listening to cheesy, romantic music as they practiced for C00lkidd's dance partner. It's not even for him, so, why does he feel this way?
Why does he feel this way?
It feels oddly right to dance with Bluudud. They almost forgot about the girl that asked them to be their partner. Maybe it's because it's Bluudud. They are more familiar with him. More comfortable with him. Even if Bluudud hates them, they know deep down Bluudud cares for them too. If not,
What does all of this mean, then?
Slow dancing, listening to music, hearing eachother's heartbeat..
This isn't something C00lkidd can just brush off, not anymore, at least. Bluudud is very special to them, as a friend, of course!
It's not like they like... Bluudud, right?
It's not like they like boys.
Other kids says it's bad. It's weird.
Unnatural.
...But were they ever normal?
Were they ever considered to be normal?
Everyone calls them weird. Everyone picks on the both of them. It'd only makes sense to have eachother.
...
I'm worrying too much. C00lkidd thought, they'd then looked at Bluudud, who was lost in his thoughts. Only for him to be snapped back out of it once the music stopped.
Bluudud pushed C00lkidd away, this time, more gently. C00lkidd's eyes slightly widen at the sudden gentle push. Bluudud looked at them, then looked away again. "That was.. uh..."
"That was fun! Let's practice tomorrow again!" C00lkidd replied almost immediately, they were shaking a tiny bit. A sign of them being nervous. Bluudud noticed it but didn't say anything about it. "Yeah, sure. Tomorrow."
"Okay, cool! Cool-" C00lkidd then cleared their throat and immediately ran off with their ipad. Bluudud watched him leave, watching them dash out of the house. He stared at the door for a while before going yo the door and close it.
He felt... Calm. Content, even.
"AGGHHHHH WHYWHY WHY WHY WHYY!!!!" Bluudud screamed onto the pillow, hitting it multiple times as he recalled what happened today. He'd then threw the pillow across the room, angry at what he was feeling. He frowned at nothing, he was just angry at himself for feeling peaceful around C00lkidd. C00LKIDD. THE BOY HE SWORE HE HATED.
He feels embarrassed. Humiliated.
"I can't BELIEVE this happened to ME!"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!!!" C00lkidd wailed, feeling like they've completely ruined something. They felt like they've made Bluudud HATE them even more. They feel like they want to burst into tears. How can they be so stupid?!
Dumb c00lkidd, stupid c00lkidd. He messed it up BIG TIME. What would Bluudud think? What will his dad think?? Is this even normal?..
C00lkidd then continued to cry, feeling overwhelmed with intense emotions going through within him. This is exhausting to deal with. He needs to sleep through this, maybe it'll get better by tomorrow.
Tomorrow came by,
The same position, the same dance, the same music.
This time, they understood the steps. How it's supposed to go and what they're supposed to do afterwards.
They were, as again, comfortable being in eachother's arms. Even if there's a few mistakes, it was still decent nonetheless. As they both continued to keep up the dance for as long as they could, C00lkidd then realized something.
It seems like he prefers Bluudud to be his partner more. Is that even allowed for prom night? Two boys dancing in eachother's arms to romantic music? It sounds so wrong, but they wished Bluudud was their partner instead. They wished he was the girl that asked C00lkidd to be her prom partner.
I should stop thinking about Bluudud like this. C00lkidd thought. Will he even ask me to be his partner?
The thought of Bluudud rejecting them scared them more than it needs to be, than how they imagined it. They wouldn't risk it. They wouldn't risk losing Bluudud.
As Bluudud took a small glance at C00lkidd, he noticed they seemed to be lost in their thoughts. He paused, which caught C00lkidd off guard at the sudden halt of their dance. Bluudud then stared at them for a bit before smirking, then bursting into a fit of laughing.
"Ha! Got you!!" He teased, he loved the reaction C00lkidd had at the small prank he did, just so he can get him off guard. C00lkidd stared at him laugh before slowly laughing with him as well. "You jerk!!" C00lkidd barked out a laugh, lightly punching Bluudud's shoulder. They'd then placed their head onto his shoulder, giggling like an idiot.
Bluudud stared at them, looking at their expression as he slowly wrapped an arm around them. "Hey," he started. "If anything bad happens during prom, I'll just be outside." He says, he sounded.. a bit nervous. C00lkidd did not miss that. "Why?" C00lkidd asked, curious about what he's planning.
Bluudud opened his mouth to answer but, he decided not to. "I'll tell you later once you're outside, kay? It's uh... A surprise! Yeah." C00lkidd stared at him for a while before smiling. "Okay! I'll meet you outside once the prom's finished."
"Yeah, yeah.." Bluudud nodded as he stared onto C00lkidd. "Hey," he asked again. C00lkidd hummed, looking up at his nervous expression. He opened his mouth to say something, but he closed it again. "Nevermind." He says, looking away from them. C00lkidd raised a brow, curious about what he was supposed to say.
"What were you gonna say?" C00lkidd asked.
"No, no- just forget about it. It's a stupid question." Bluudud shrugged it off, hoping C00lkidd can stop asking him about it. "But, I'm curious thoughhh!" C00lkidd whined and shook him. "You can tell me!! I'll probably forget about it anyways! It'll just be a me and you thing!"
"It's not like that! It's a question, kay? A stupid one too. I don't think you'll like it."
"C'mon please!!"
"No."
"Please please pretty please!!"
"No! Nuh uh."
"Aw, come on!! With a cherry on top????"
"God, you're annoying- FINE!" Bluudud groaned, rolling his eyes as C00lkidd squealed in victory. "YES! okay, okay.."
They both stared at eachother. Bluudud rubbed the back of his neck, looking away. Only then did C00lkidd realized that it was something serious. Their smile slightly faltered.
"... If I was a girl,"
Bluudud paused and looked over at C00lkidd to check for his reaction. He was starting to regret his decision already. "Will you... Like. Me?" Bluudud whispered the last sentence, hoping C00lkidd heard it so he doesn't need to repeat it again.
C00lkidd stared at him for a while before awkwardly rubbing his arm. "Ah, well..."
"A-as a buddy! Y'know like.. a girl and guy friendship!!" Bluudud quickly added, not wanting it to sound like the other meaning. Even if it was the other meaning, he was NOT risking it. Being friends with C00lkidd is a HUGE headache, but.. it was better than being alone.
C00lkidd blinked. Then blinked again. They looked down, trying to think on how to answer. Yes, of course they'll still like him!—as a friend, of course—but, they also don't mind liking Bluudud for the way he is as well. "..What about you? Will you still like me- as a friend- if I were a girl?" C00lkidd asked, wanting to check if both of their thoughts are mutual.
The atmosphere became quiet and a bit suffocating with the awkward silence. It was tolerable but, both of them really wants to run away and hide. Like. Right now.
"I mean... You being a girl doesn't make it any less annoying now, does it?"
"Hey! That's a yes or no question!"
"Yes, obviously!" Bluudud scoffed. "You didn't answer my question though." He added, reminding C00lkidd about his question from earlier. "Oh, right! Uh.."
"I mean, you being a girl still makes you a big loser! Hah!"
Bonk!
"Owww!!!!" C00lkidd then held their head, they'd then looked at Bluudud smirking at them. "That's what you get!-"
A pillow, specifically from the couch, was thrown at him. Bluudud waits the pillow to fall from his face, frowning at C00lkidd.
Similar to those cartoon shows. C00lkidd blew a raspberry, only for the same pillow to be thrown at them.
"EUGH- EWW EWW BLEH!-" they spat out their saliva. "You made me taste your yucky pillow!" They continued to act disgusted. "Dud, it's just a pillow."
"Oh, yeah?"
"No, literally. It couldn't possibly be that bad."
"How about we have a pillow fight?" C00lkidd suggested, already holding the pillow. They smiled widely, wayy too wide. "...uh. L-let me get a pillow fiRST!!-"
He ran to the couch to get a second pillow before C00lkidd can hit him. "Don't run away and be a coward!" C00lkidd teased chasing after Bluudud who was climbing ontop of the couch just to get away from C00lkidd. "LET ME PREPARE FIRST!!" He yelped, dodging C00lkidd's attacks and ends up falling off from the couch. "Come here, bunny boy!!" They say, climbing on the same couch Bluudud fell off to.
Bluudud quickly got out of the floor and stood on an area that's slightly far away from C00lkidd, just enough to create distance.
The both stared at eachother, pretending to be in those old wild west movies. They can even hear the iconic whistle in the background and the random ball of sticks rolling behind them.
Without hesitation, C00lkidd immediately jumped off the couch and lunges himself to Bluudud, which caught Bluudud off guard.
"AAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Bluudud then covered his face with a pillow as he was pushed down to the floor. "AHA!" C00lkidd barked out a laugh and starts hitting Bluudud with a pillow. "OKAY OKAY YOU WIN!" He surrendered while curling into a ball, but C00lkidd did not stop playfully hitting him. They're having way too much fun with playing.
Bluudud then had to force them to stop by pushing away his pillow and held C00lkidd's wrist to stop. "I said stop." He says, trying to sit back up. C00lkidd then pulled their arms so Bluudud can stand right back up to his feet. Bluudud huffed at the act of kindness. C00lkidd isn't kind though, that's for sure.
"Hehe, you okay?" C00lkidd asked, smirking at him. "Oh, nooo! I almost died!!" Bluudud dramatically posed before looking at C00lkidd with a deadpan expression. "What do you think?"
"I think that's a yes!" C00lkidd smiled before dropping the pillow down. "I'm gonna head back home! Prom's tomorrow, ya know?" C00lkidd says, going home early so they can arrive prom early. "Bye bye!" They say, not bothering to pick up the pillows on the floor. Bluudud stared at them, a bit surprised and upset that C00lkidd is leaving early. Maybe he's not used to it but, he felt weirdly angry.
Like he wished he was their partner instead.
Bluudud sighed and picked up the pillows, he'll think about it later. It's not like he likes C00lkidd. Not to mention that he's the last person C00lkidd would ever date.
I mean, look at me! I look like... this! Bluudud then pointed at himself while looking at an imaginary camera. He sighed, sulking on the couch as he placed both pillows down.
Oh, how we wished he was a girl.
Prom night. It was tonight. C00lkidd asked Bluudud if he can send him there. His dad is, as always, busy to help him out. But it's fine, he's used to this treatment already. They rang the doorbell and fixed their hair, waiting for Bluudud to answer.
They wore a simple dark red suit. Dark red because it's better that way! They had a small flower on their heart, which is pretty cute, but they wanted something more intense and cooler than that! Too bad it's stuck onto the suit. They wouldn't want to attempt ripping it off and end up having his suit ruined.
They'd then heard the door click open. They watched the door swing to the other side, revealing Bluudud who was also in a suit, a dark blue one to be specific. C00lkidd looked at him with confusion. Why was he wearing that? "Bluudud, you're not going to the prom." C00lkidd stated.
"I know." Bluudud responded, simple and short. "Then, why are you wearing that?" They asked, curious but not judging him. He looked... Handsome. Surprisingly handsome that looked so... Y'know! So Bluudud.
"Can't a dud like me also wear something fancy too? Besides, I want to look better than you!" Bluudud replied, arms crossed with a smug on his face. "Where did you even get that? It looks expensive."
"I just bought it, ya know?"
"Sure. "Bought" it. I bet it only costs less than five bucks!"
"Hey! It's not!"
Before Bluudud can even start arguing, C00lkidd then started to drag him along. Bluudud nearly stumbled forward at the sudden pulling. Bluudud then tried to keep up with their fast pacing. "W-wait!— slow down a bit!!-" he tried to call out to them but they only continued to drag him along. Bluudud sighed and allowed them to drag him along. C00lkidd giggled before stopping so they can both walk together.
Bluudud sighed in relief, feeling his hands intertwined with his. He huffed, trying to ignore the warm feeling. Both in his heart and their intertwined hands. Bluudud brushed it off, but the silence wasn't working.
Though, he did notice something subtle. C00lkidd's grip is getting tighter. Like they are trying to ease off their nerves. He looked over at them, tightening his grip. "It'll be okay." He muttered, making sure it was loud enough for C00lkidd to hear.
C00lkidd looked at him for a moment. Did he say what they thought he said? They stared at him.
He looked so beautiful. C00lkidd was lucky to be his bestest friend. C00lkidd giggled. "Thanks! That really helped." They simply replied, which was enough to make Bluudud's face more bluuer. "Y-yeah. No problem.." his voice grew quieter to the point it just sounds like a squeak.
They both arrived at C00lkidd's school building. He lets go of their hand, watching them head inside. "I'll see you once the prom's over, kay??" C00lkidd says before waving bye to Bluudud. Bluudud nodded, waving at them as well.
He stood there, looking around on where to sit. He noticed a bench nearby and decided to wait there.
Who cares if C00lkidd had a prom partner? It's not like he cares about them. They can do whatever they want! None of his concerns.
It's none of his concerns.
Even if it bothers him alot. Which it shouldn't. But it does anyways.
"Why should I care?" He said to himself. "I'm supposed to hate them! Not.. miss them. Or anything like that! Gross!" He huffed, getting angry at his own words. Maybe he was just angry at himself. He hates how he cares way too much about that damn kidd. It's not like he'll miss dancing with them.
He never wanted to anyways! Yeah! It was all just to get C00lkidd away from him, that's all!
Though, he does hope that C00lkidd doesn't end up embarrassing themselves. But overall, he does not care at all.
He reassures himself, looking around to find something to do as he waits.
"Ooo!" He spotted an ice cream store nearby. He looked around to see if anyone is watching before standing up from his seat and went to the store to buy something.
C00lkidd then walked down the classroom, seeing everyone being with their partners and such. Mia doesn't seem to have one, though. Pr3typriincess had Divadayo.
Wait, Divadayo?
Is that allowed? Aren't they both girls??
Eh, who cares. Pr3typriincess was the type of girl to follow her own rules. And Divadayo was the type to break them. It's a... Eeer. Perfect-ish match? He really can't tell.
He doesn't care if they do end up together, though. He just worries that they might become extra annoying.
And dangerous.
He looked around for his dance partner, even asking other kids about her. But like the usual, they did not answer, some others even made fun of them for it! How rude.
C00lkidd isn't really nice either but they'll just ignore that.
As they searched for their dance partner, they'd then heard a familiar voice behind them. "Excuse me!-" a girl—no, Charlotte—then went inside the classroom, immediately noticing C00lkidd. "Oh, you're here!" She says, excitingly going towards him. "Hello!" C00lkidd waved at her, which he paused for a bit, and did a small bow. "I mean- hello, m'lady." He says, sticking out his tongue playfully. "Oh, silly! Don't act like thaaat!" She giggled, elbowing him playfully. C00lkidd just laughed at her before it slowly died down.
Awkward silence sets between the two, only C00lkidd sipping fruit punch was the sound between them until Charlotte spoke up again. "Soooo... Did you learn how to dance?" She asks, trying to have a conversation. C00lkidd raised their brows at the question. "Well, yeah.."
"Really?"
"With Bluudud! I learnt it with Bluudud!" They say as Charlotte nodded. "Ohhh," she paused for a quick second. "How romantic!" She teased, which caught C00lkidd off guard and spat off their drink. They looked at her slapping a hand to their mouth and nearly bursts into laughter. "H-hey!! It's not like that!"
"Pffft—sorry! I'm so sorry!!-" she doubled down, holding her stomach while closing her eyes. She slowly stopped laughing once C00lkidd huffed at her. "That's not funny!"
"Okay, okay... Sorry!" She hummed, breathing in some air after laughing too hard. "But, that's good! That you know how to dance." She complimented, which made C00lkidd stopped being angry at her. "Yeah, it is!"
"What dance did you guys practice?"
"Oh, it's uh..." He tries to think on how to reply to this. Should he say the truth or lie about it?
"Mmm.. just, I dunno- slow dancing?" C00lkidd replied, drinking their fruit punch. "Slow dancing?" Charlotte repeated. "Yyyeah." C00lkidd replied slowly, not sure if he should tell Charlotte everything about it. It's nothing special, after all!
"That's..." Charlotte paused, not wanting to embarrass C00lkidd. "Sweet! I never knew you guys could get along!"
"Eh, think of it like a Pr3typriincess and Divadayo thing. We become friends, we don't become friends.. it's a... Uhhm."
"Off and on thing?"
"Yeah! Something like that. But we're frenemies, to put it simply!"
"You should've just said that, y'know?"
"What? I want to be complicated!"
"Sure, bud." Charlotte playfully rolled her eyes, smiling at him after the playful banter.
Suddenly, the class president—or Pr3typriincess, apparently—then announced that the dance will be starting shortly. "Everyone, go to your partners! Chop, chop! I don't got all day!" She says impatiently, like she wants to get this over with.
Or she just wants to dance with Divadayo.
Maybe both.
Charlotte then held out her hand, waiting for C00lkidd to take it. C00lkidd looked at her for a quick second before taking her hand and intertwined it with his.
It doesn't feel the same when him and Bluudud danced, though.
They missed the feeling, but they brushed it off.
C00lkidd then started to slow dance with Charlotte. Who seems to notice his odd expression, like he wasn't having a blast. C00lkidd is usually excited about almost everything. Seeing him so down makes her a bit worried.
"Hey," she called out, which C00lkidd looked at her. "You alright?" She asks, wondering if it's about her or if it's something else. "Huh? Oh, yeah." They nodded, not knowing why they felt so.
Empty.
Like a part of him was missing.
Like his other half isn't here with him.
Charlotte then decided to rub his back, an attempt to comfort him. "Hey, it's alright. We can stop dancing if you like." She says, smiling at him. C00lkidd paused and looked at her. "But- the prom! We're supposed to be dancing."
"Who cares about the prom? I rather go to a war instead of seeing you upset like this." She says, stepping back from C00lkidd, who stared at her, a bit dumbfounded. "But..."
"You don't wanna dance with me, don't you?" Charlotte cuts him off, not wanting to hear any more excuses on why they should force themselves to dance with her.
"Well, I wanted to but.." C00lkidd paused, rubbing the back of his neck. "I just wanted to be normal, y'know?"
Normal? Charlotte looked at him, raising a brow at his statement. "Normal? What do you mean?" She asks, waiting patiently for their response. "...I wanted to dance with Bluudud." C00lkidd admits. "But, I don't... Want him to become my partner."
"Why not?"
"Well!- y'know! We're both boys and.. it's just- odd!" C00lkidd exaggerated their arms, trying to make a point. "Dancing with boys isn't really bad, though."
"Not to you! But for me, it's weird." C00lkidd replied back, it was painfully obvious that C00lkidd doesn't feel too proud or happy about his feelings. Charlotte realizes this, and out of sympathy, she placed a hand onto their shoulder. "But you want to dance with him, right?"
"...Yeah."
"Well, go for it! It's not like it's a crime to dance with him!"
"But it's weird."
"Wanting someone the same gender isn't weird, c00lkidd. You just gotta follow your..." She'd then poked C00lkidd's chest, giving it a boop. "Heart!" She finishes, smiling at him. "So, if you wanna dance with Bluudud, go dance with him!" She encourages C00lkidd, who was still trying to decide if it's worth it or not. They looked around, feeling nervous. "It's not that easy, y'know.."
Charlotte stares at them, feeling sympathetic at their struggle, then pats their shoulder. "Well then, I'll let you think about it, kay?" She says, before leaving him alone. Leaving C00lkidd to handle their thoughts and feelings.
Was it really okay? To dance with someone like Bluudud? A boy?
Well, dancing with him was pretty nice. They've also missed the feeling of holding his hand, standing close to him..
Hearing eachother's heartbeats.
They felt like they've met their other half.
They can't deny it anymore, they missed Bluudud's prescence.
Hell, did they even wished Charlotte was Bluudud instead. Pretending it was him that they were dancing with.
Bluudud understood them when nobody cared to try. Sure, he hates them, but he didn't abandon them.
And being alone is way worse.
But it's wrong. It felt so wrong. What does Bluudud even think of him? Will he even like him? Does he even like him?
C00lkidd doubts he does. Not to mention how many times Bluudud stated that he hated them. How many times Bluudud is absolutely pissed at them. C00lkidd doesn't really give off a positive vibe personally towards Bluudud.
But, when they danced. It's like the total opposite. Does C00lkidd still have a chance?
Will he still let them dance with him?
There's only one way to find out.
"Bluudud!" C00lkidd yelled out, looking at Bluudud throwing away his ice cream cone almost immediately. "IMNOTEATINGANYTHING!!!" Bluudud immediately yelped, hiding away his hands.
Both of them stared for a while until C00lkidd started to giggle at him. "NOT FUNNY!" Bluudud immediately yelled at them for it, feeling a bit embarrassed for yelling like that. "Okay, okay.." they say, heading to Bluudud.
"Prom's over?" Bluudud asked, wondering why C00lkidd went out so early. Doesn't prom last up until 8pm or something? It's still 6:50pm. Only 13 minutes passed by. C00lkidd then looked around, trying to find a reason. "I uhh.." C00lkidd started, not knowing how to word it out. "Did something bad happen?" Bluudud assumed, looking at C00lkidd straight in the eyes. "What? No! It's just that.." C00lkidd trailed off again. They looked around nervously, trying to find something to collect their thoughts.
Bluudud raised a brow and sighed, signalling them to follow. "Let's go." He says, already leading them both somewhere. "Wait where are we going??" C00lkidd asks, not hesitating to follow, though.
"Remember when I told you to meet me outside after the prom?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Well, I found a nice place to hang out with. Just the two of us." Bluudud says, looking away. He tried his best to keep his cool.
C00lkidd hummed in response, looking around to see if anyone's watching them. "Okay!" They replied, their voice slightly higher than before.
Both of them were equally nervous, as it seems.
It wasn't too long for them to arrive at their final destination. They were... Somewhere. They went to a nearby forest and ends up being in a field. Not sure how that works but, it was peaceful. "Nightshades." C00lkidd commented, noticing the flowers. "Night what now?" Bluudud asked, wondering what they meant by that. "Those flowers, look!" C00lkidd pointed at field having the same flowers surrounding it. "..What, are those things poisonous?"
"Some of them are!" C00lkidd replied, going near to the nightshades while Bluudud paused in his tracks. "U-uh." He stammered, looking at C00lkidd who went near to a suspiciously placed boom box. "Woah, where did this come from??" They took it and hit play.
Bluudud flinched and immediately ran up to them, nearly stumbling forward.
The first tune sounded familiar, like C00lkidd had heard this multiple times already. Only for it to be paused by Bluudud. "Wha- hey! I was listening to that!" They complained while Bluudud lifts up the boom box away from them. "Not yet, dud! I didn't even tell you what we're supposed to do yet!" Bluudud tries to kick them away. "Oh my gosh- fine!!" C00lkidd stopped attempting to get the boom box and sat down. Bluudud looked down at them before placing the boom box down, making sure it had some distance away from C00lkidd.
"You should really stop messing with other people's things."
"Says you!"
"Says me?? When did I ever do that??"
"Dud, you literally stole my hood one time without asking."
"Um, correction, I DID ask but you didn't listen! Also it was cold at that time!"
"No, you didn't ask. Never heard you!" C00lkidd crossed his arms, acting defensively.
"Maybe you just have a really bad hearing!"
"Bluudud, I can hear things very clearly! Back when we played hide and seek, I literally heard you breathing!"
"Shut up! You were just lucky!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Freak you mean nuh uh??"
Bluudud scowled at C00lkidd, which earned a laugh from C00lkidd. "Oh, you're so easy to tease, bunny boy!"
"Ew. Don't call me that." Bluudud quickly replied to the nickname. It was cute but refused to like it. "Oookay!" C00lkidd hummed, looking over at Bluudud. They've been sitting here for a while, Bluudud didn't even told C00lkidd yet about why they're here. They were about to ask but Bluudud got up. It was already dark out, a perfect time to tell them.
He got up from the ground and pressed play on the boom box, revealing the same music they both used to practice slow dancing with. Bluudud extended his hand, asking C00lkidd for a dance.
"Wanna have a dance? With me?"
C00lkidd stared up at him, their words stuck on their throat. Nothing seems to get out of their mouth, until they forced it out. "I..- of course!" He replied, his voice slightly shaking with happiness and anxiety.
He took his hand, letting be pulled up back to his feet. C00lkidd held Bluudud's hand, their free hand on his waist.
They stared off to eachother for a while, seeing comfort and familiarity in eachother's gaze. C00lkidd starts to rotate, Bluudud followed.
It was familiar. The same steps, same position, the same music.
Bluudud made a mistake, again. Accidentally stepping on C00lkidd's toes and nearly fell. "I got you!-" C00lkidd said, pulling Bluudud back up to his feet. Bluudud exhaled in relief, he did NOT want to fall and ends up ruining the mood. Quick thinking, C00lkidd. Bluudud goes back to having his left arm on C00lkidd's neck. They paused for a while so Bluudud can adjust to the rhythm and started
dance again.
The moonlight was beautiful. But they've already seen true beauty within eachother. Cheesy, I know. But can you really blame them?
They don't know what they're feeling, but it was familiar.
Comfortable, even.
C00lkidd then gazed off to the night sky. Looking at the moon taking it's time to rise. C00lkidd knew Bluudud was always a big fan of space and astrology. Heck, he even knows alot about stars.
"Hey, Bluudud?" C00lkidd asks, looking back at Bluudud. "Hm?- yeah?" He replied, his voice sounded more quieter and less irritated. Calm, even. C00lkidd paused for a second, wondering what to ask about. "Can you give me fun facts about stars?" They asks, smiling at him.
Bluudud's eyes slightly widens, he blinked once, then twice. "Stars?" He repeated. "Yes! Stars! I heard you like learning about space and stuff.."
"You.. really want me to talk about it?"
"Yeah! I want you talk about it!"
"...Well- I can tell you about red stars and blue stars." He stated, smiling because he thought of something really funny. "Cuz, y'know. You're r#d and I'm blue." He joked, earning an amused smile from C00lkidd. Bluudud then paused, thinking a small fun fact about it.
"Did you know red stars are actually cooler than blue stars?"
"...Really?"
"Yeah! I forgot why but it's kinda.."
"That's kinda ironic, in a way." C00lkidd added. "Yeah! That's what I was about to say!" Bluudud nodded, eager to tell C00lkidd more with the knowledge he has about stars. C00lkidd couldn't help but smile at his joy. They never seen Bluudud so happy like this before, not towards C00lkidd. The only thing Bluudud was happy towards them was when he gets to have a small revenge after C00lkidd did a prank.
But, right now? Bluudud is smiling ear to ear because of C00lkidd asking that one simple question. C00lkidd then slightly leaned in, they seemed to be interested in Bluudud's discussion about stars as they dance.
"I also heard that looking at stars is considered as time travelling."
"Ooh, really??"
"Yeah cuz.. light takes time to pass through space and stuff. So you're basically seeing their past."
"Ohhhh." C00lkidd nodded, understanding it's concept. They looked up at the night sky again. "So to them, we're basically the future?" C00lkidd asks. "Yeah! Something like that.." Bluudud followed their gaze up to the night sky, seeing the stars twinkle above them. "Pretty cool, right?" Bluudud looks at C00lkidd, who was still staring in awe. They'd then looked at Bluudud, their smile widening. "Uh huh!"
Bluudud smirked, feeling proud at his knowledge about stars. "You're really smart." C00lkidd commented, which caught Bluudud off guard. C00lkidd? Genuinely complementing him?? Unbelievable. "Ah- I mean, yeah! Of course I am!" He stammered, trying to keep up his proud smile like the compliment didn't affect him at all. "...Thanks." He added quietly.
They continued to dance, the silence wasn't really awkward anymore. It felt more safer, knowing that they both trust eachother very deeply.
"How about you? What are things you know about?" Bluudud asks, which C00lkidd hummed and pondered. It took some time for C00lkidd to think, but they managed to remember one topic.
"I know things about the sea!" C00lkidd replied, they looked at Bluudud, trying to gauge his reaction. Bluudud stared at them before nodding. "Sure." He replied.
"Okay, so.. did you know that being underwater can actually crush you if you don't have safety equipment because of the density?"
"..oh."
"Oh, yeah! And did you know no one can hear you scream if you ever drown? Blowing out your bubbles wouldn't help either."
C00lkidd stared at Bluudud, who looked a bit disturbed at those facts. He gulped and nodded. "Oookayyy..." He says slowly, making C00lkidd laugh at his reaction.
He'd then placed their head onto Bluudud's chest. Bluudud flinched at the sudden contact but lets them rest anyways. He couldn't help but smile at them. C00lkidd was basically his source of happiness. His source of motivation.
Even if he doesn't want him to be one in the first place.
Bluudud loved them so much, his heart could burst out of his chest. He can't even deny it anymore.
They both continued to sway within eachother's arms until C00lkidd accidentally stepped on Bluudud's toes.
"Ow!-" Bluudud yelped, lightly pushing C00lkidd away while he knelt down to hold his feet. C00lkidd stared down at him before asking "You okay?"
"I'm fine..!" He says, already hearing the music fading away. He'd then sat down on the ground, watching C00lkidd sit right next to him, then scooted a little bit more closer. C00lkidd looked up, seeing meteor showers. Seeing stars twinkle. Seeing the moon shine brightly.
C00lkidd couldn't help but mutter,
"The moon is beautiful tonight." Their smile widens, they placed all of their focus onto the moon. "..Yeah, it is." Bluudud replied, looking at C00lkidd. He'd then followed their gaze, looking up at the moon.
"Does the moon actually turn blue?" C00lkidd asks, which Bluudud shrugs. "I think so! Cuz blue is awesome and is space color coded!"
"Space color coded??"
"I don't know how to word it shutup." Bluudud elbowed C00lkidd. Which C00lkidd elbowed him back. "Heyy I'm just teasing youu!" C00lkidd then stuck out their tongue in a playful manner.
"...Thanks, by the way." C00lkidd hugged his knees to his stomach. "Hm? For what?"
"For y'know. Everything." C00lkidd smiled, they were truly grateful. From helping him how to dance, to be able to dance with someone tonight. At least they didn't feel alone. Or was abandoned. Not like how everyone else pushes them off to the side.
Bluudud's eyes softens, he looked at him for a quick second. "No problem." He replied, feeling content.
"..Bluudud." C00lkidd called out again, making Bluudud snap his head towards them. "I- uh- i-- yeah..???" Bluudud replied almost immediately. "...I really, really." C00lkidd then paused, immediately closing their mouth. Was it the right time? They've already accepted that what they're feeling is love so, why can't he get it out of his throat. He'd then looked away.
"Nevermind. Forget it." They replied, feeling to scared to say it out loud. Their voice was more dismissive. Bluudud, skeptical, lets it go for now. "M'kay, then.."
They both arrived back at the neighborhood. C00lkidd held Bluudud's hand on their way back home. Noticing Bluudud's house was already infront of them, they gave him a smile. "Wanna play tomorrow?" They asked, which Bluudud nodded immediately. "1v1! On roblox Rivals." He says, confident that he's going to beat C00lkidd this time. C00lkidd smirked, feeling challenged. "Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"You're so ON!"
Both of them pressed their foreheads together for dramatic effects, only for them to burst out laughing. Bluudud held his stomach while C00lkidd held their head. As the laughter died down, Bluudud elbowed C00lkidd playfully. "You better come here early then!"
"I'm always early!"
"Yeah, right!"
Bluudud held the doorknob, but paused. He can hear C00lkidd already leaving.
Bluudud then took a step back from the door and called out,
"Hey, C00lkidd!"
C00lkidd stopped in their tracks, looking right behind them to see Bluudud trying to catch up with them. "Dang, how you so fast??"
"What is it?" C00lkidd asks, it was already dark out, he didn't want to make his dad worry. Bluudud then tries to think of something quick. He'd then took their arm, which was surprising since he isn't really a fan of physical touch. Especially when his skin is literally made out of fabric.
"I.. uh. I just want to say that—you make me.. so happy. I don't know how to explain it but-" Bluudud stuttered, trying to express what he truly felt. "You just.. mean so much to me, C00lkidd! I can't even deny it anymore." His grip tightens, hands shaking from the overwhelming feeling of fear and love.
"And I just... I like you, C00lkidd." Bluudud then lets go of C00lkidd's hand, looking at C00lkidd to see their reaction. The silence wasn't like the comfortable one thst they've felt before. It was suffocating.
"...Is that why you were so angry?"
"Huh..? Angry?"
"Bluudud, we're you jealous that someone asked me out to prim??" C00lkidd teased, making Bluudud's face even more bluer than before. "I- i-i— NO!" Bluudud then denied it, despite his earlier confession about his feelings. Well, partially. "W-why would I even be jealous of YOU! Out of all people!- I don't like you remember? Well- ignore the confession. I MEAN EXPRESSION!! It was NOT confession and I WAS NOT PLANNING TO! I MEAN!!-"
C00lkidd then took Bluudud's hand and looked at him. Their gaze softens, which was enough for Bluudud to stop making excuses. "It's okay, Bluudud. You mean alot to me, too." They replied.
"..really?"
"Really, really." They say, looking at Bluudud and held his hand. "Can i... Kiss your hand?" They asked, too shy to give him a kiss immediately. Bluudud stared at them and paused. He looked around a bit before nodding. "Yeah- just this--"

C00lkidd kissed him on the cheek.
"Whoops!" C00lkidd giggled, sticking out their tongue playfully. Bluudud stared at them, dumbfounded. Then, his face grew brighter. He'd then starts coughing at the sudden display of affection. "WWHATTHEFREAK--" Bluudud continued to cough, not caring if someone around the neighborhood would hear. He was happy, though. He was happy he had gotten a kiss from C00lkidd
"You can kiss me back if you want!" C00lkidd suggests, leaning in to Bluudud who stared at him, then away, then back at him. "You'd... Let me?" Bluudud asks, which C00lkidd nodded. "Yep!" C00lkidd smiled at him, which Bluudud then leaned in and gave them a quick kiss.
"mwa- THERE!" Bluudud then pushed their hand away. He crossed his arms. "THIS DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!!!" He took a step back, refusing to look at them. "Sure, sure." C00lkidd paused. "Boyfrieend!" C00lkidd teased even further. "SHHH SHHHH DON'T SAY THAT OUT LOUD YOU JERK!" Bluudud immediately punches C00lkidd by the shoulder. "Ow! Hehe! Okay, okay!-" C00lkidd hits him back.
"Ow."
"Told ya it hurts."
"Okay sorry..." Bluudud rubbed his arm, feeling silly. "It's okay! I know you didn't mean it!" C00lkidd smiled before walking away. "Bye, bye! See you tomorrow!" C00lkidd waved goodbye, skipping away happily. Bluudud watched them leave, making sure no one's watching,
"YESSS!!!!" He yelped happily, jumping up in the air and clicked both of his shoes together and ends up falling. "OW!!!" He whined, feeling his leg aching with pain.
"Worth it!!..."
C00lkidd immediately ran up to his room, throwing himself onto the bed while giggling like a total idiot. "I DID IT! I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT!!!!" C00lkidd squealed onto the pillow, hugging one pillow and starts to roll themselves side to side from the bed.
They are not gonna be sleeping very easily after what happened. Since both of them are now... Official? He thinks they're official. It's alright, they'll think about it tomorrow.
This was a miracle, a huge miracle. It's like a dream none of them wants to end.
Now, all they have to know is how long will they last?
Hopefully long enough.
