Work Text:

Making sure her outfit looked nice. Putting extra attention into her makeup. Touching herself up in ways she never bothered with. Someone who saw all the effort she was putting in might think that Sodachi was heading off for a date— but while that wasn’t entirely wrong, it likewise wasn’t entirely right.

It all depended on what one considered a date. Some might consider what she was doing as a date, but Sodachi wouldn’t. She was going to meet up with a friend for a platonic activity.

Sexual, yes, but platonic.

Or, rather than a sexual activity, Sodachi was going to meet a friend for sex.

That was something she did every now and then. Lacking a partner of any kind, and with friends in the same situation, Sodachi had found herself in the habit of casual sex. At first, she had been apprehensive about it, but by this point, it was just another thing she would do with friends. Have dinner together, see a movie, chat, and have sex. That was normal.

Just because it was normal didn’t mean that Sodachi didn’t want to look her best for it. After all, attraction was still a factor here. She wanted to look her best, even if at the end of the night, she would be far more disheveled.

She checked her phone and saw that the bus would be arriving in just a couple minutes. That was the sign to let good enough be good enough. She grabbed her purse, then headed for the door.

Her friend she was visiting today, Reina, was a former coworker she stayed in touch with after they both moved onto better jobs. At first, their friendship had been chaste, but after some coincidences, she had gotten added to Sodachi’s web of relations.

Sodachi didn’t feel like an extrovert. She felt like an inward-facing person, one with few relations… but at the very least, she knew enough people that she could separate her friends into two groups, the ones she had sex with and the ones she didn’t. Neither category felt small, either. Sodachi had to admit that, even if she didn’t get out as much as it felt like she should, people seemed to like her.

It was while Sodachi was musing about her relationships that she felt a shudder across her entire body.

Anticipation?

It was certainly something. Maybe it was just the feeling of realizing that she had grown and changed as a person in her adulthood. She wasn’t even in her thirties yet, but already she was so different from who she was in high school.

Whatever it was, she let the feeling pass. She had an exciting evening ahead of her. Not just sex, of course. It was a chance to hang out with a friend and spend time together. They would chat, get dinner, and maybe watch a movie. Sex would also be part of it, but it was still an act of friendship. Sodachi wasn't sex-crazed.

Eventually, Sodachi got off the bus. A short walk later, a familiar apartment building lay in front of her. She sent her friend a text message, then waited outside. Before long, she was greeted at the door.

Back in Reina’s apartment, they traded pleasantries. They didn't have plans per se, so they just started chatting. Reina started talking about how work had been treating her, then Sodachi chimed in with her own recent work stories. It was a playful back and forth, hardly flirting, but it eased them in.

They were always like this. Sometimes, they wouldn't have sex for hours. Sometimes, they would just chat the hours away. On more than one occasion, they got so caught up in talking to each other that they forgot to have sex.

That wouldn't be happening tonight. While Sodachi was happy to make conversation with Reina, in the back of her mind, there was a nagging feeling. Sodachi wanted to have sex. She was horny. Not a normal amount, either. It was distracting. Eventually, it grew to be overpowering.

At that point, Sodachi gave up. She grabbed Reina by the wrist and whisked her away to the bedroom.

A few hours later, they were done. Sodachi had been vigorous in a way she hadn't much before. At no point did she feel satisfied. If anything, the more they had sex, the more she wanted to have sex.

Reina didn't agree. “...I have no idea how you aren't exhausted right now.” She laughed, tiredly. “I'm about to pass out.”

Sodachi shrugged. She rolled over in bed to look at the ceiling, leaving herself exposed. “I don't know. Normally I would be. I guess there's just something about today that's giving me energy. I feel like I could run a mile.”

Reina was shocked, to say the least. “Well, maybe you run your mile while I take a nap. Maybe an eight hour nap.”

Sodachi sat up, then got out of bed. “I don't think I'm going to do that, but I am going to take a shower. I don't think round two will be happening tonight.”

“Definitely not.”

Sodachi gathered up some casual clothes that she had left last time she visited Reina. Then she headed into the shower.

She had planned for it to be a quick thing. She would wash off, then get out and wake Reina up so they could move on with their evening. But to the contrary, it ended up taking a lot longer. Bodily urges waylaid those plans.

Sodachi spent the time sitting in the shower, masturbating. She wasn't normally like this, but for some reason, her sex drive had gone into overdrive. She was proving to be insatiable. She only stopped when the water turned lukewarm. An unpleasant experience killed the vibe just a little, which was enough for Sodachi to push herself to finally finish cleaning herself and to get out.

As expected, Reina was asleep, but it was a shallow sleep, so she was easily roused. Once out of bed, the pair made a quick dinner, then sat down to watch a movie.

All the while, Sodachi was distracted. Enough was no longer enough, apparently. She felt insatiable. Before she knew it, she had taken out her phone and was texting other friends. She wouldn’t have any plans tonight, of course, but she wanted them as soon as possible.

It was rare Sodachi had sex more than twice in a week. Often, it was even less than that. That was enough to satisfy her, or at least it had been. Any more and she would begin to feel self-conscious, but more than that, she just didn’t desire that. She didn’t want to be someone who was always having sex.

But now that had changed. By the time she set her phone down again, she had several more plans. A date tomorrow, and the next day, and two the day after that.

Even that much might not be enough. It was a little maddening.

Sodachi was doing her best to restrain herself around Reina. While obviously they were not strangers to each others’ bodies, it would still feel weird to start masturbating around her. So, while she was fidgety, she kept her hands from any of the places she wanted to put them.

She had never felt this way before. Yet, she didn’t mind.

Sometimes, Sodachi stayed the night. That wouldn’t be the case this time. She wanted to get home and have some time to herself. Thankfully, that had been the plan already, so it didn’t come across as out of character for her, but internally, Sodachi felt conspicuous as she was leaving. Reina had certainly noticed the mood Sodachi was in, and some jokes were made about it, but there was no way she had realized the haze she had found herself in.

Reina seemed tired, anyway. Sex must have wiped her out in the way that it gave Sodachi energy.

No, Sodachi was far from tired. Even after she got home, she found herself practically bounding off the walls. All of that energy went into herself. She went to bed almost immediately, but rather than fall asleep, she started masturbating.

She didn’t stop, at least, not anytime soon. It was well after midnight when the physical exhaustion finally started piling up. Despite that, Sodachi still felt lively. She could tell that her body was on the verge of giving out, but if not for that, she would have felt the same as before she started. Infinite energy had been discovered and it rested solely in Sodachi Oikura’s libido.

She had work the next day. She was able to survive that fine enough, but as soon as she was free, she hurried home. She would be hosting this time. Thankfully, she didn’t need to clean too much, so she spent the rest of the time preparing herself.

It was a guy friend this time. He was someone Sodachi had met through a social club in college. They stayed in touch, and eventually started having sex.

Sodachi hadn’t warned him about the mood she was in. It simply didn’t occur to her. While it was out of the ordinary, it wasn’t anything to worry about, so it wasn’t something to bring up. She only realized he might have needed a warning once he was calling it quits and she was still unsatisfied.

Once again, where sex would normally leave her tired, now it only made her feel more invigorated. And on the other hand, once again, her friend was left exhausted at the end of it.

Sodachi was disappointed. There was a part of her inside that said, no, let’s keep going. Another five minutes will surely fill this bottomless well which has opened up. Sure, he says he’s tired, but we don’t need to stop there. Let’s keep going

Still, Sodachi stopped when he asked to stop. If she wasn’t satisfied today, then hopefully she would be tomorrow. That would be Friday, so there was no obligation to go to bed early. Not that Sodachi was doing that, anyway. Once again, that night, she found herself staying up late, and this time, there was the temptation to stay up even later. All her life, she had been a morning person, but was Sodachi now flipping? Was she becoming a night person?

She didn’t realize it, but that wasn’t the only change happening to her. By the time Friday was over, and after having had so much sex day after day, a new type of change was beginning to take form. Although they were still too small to be seen apart from her hair, two horns were beginning to grow. Not just that, but the beginnings of a tail was poking out from the bottom of her spine.

Friday came, and so did she. Many times, in fact, yet Friday proved as unsatisfying as the days before, but since Sodachi has multiple plans for Saturday, she hoped that might help.

It was to no avail. The first date did nothing to sate her, so as she approached the second, she was feeling ravenous.

This was, without a doubt, the most sex Sodachi had ever had in such a short period of time. At this rate, it would quickly be eclipsed.

The horns and tail were more conspicuous now, and nascent bat-like wings were sprouting from her back. Yet, even when Sodachi was completely naked, nobody would have noticed them. After all, people don't expect to see normal people with those features. They would simply ignore them.

The second date that day was Renako. Renako was someone Sodachi had met through a dating app years before. As such, they were hardly the closest of friends. They kept in touch enough that it wasn't awkward when one of them wanted to hook up, but they did nothing more than that.

Renako had no idea what she signed up for today.

They were in a love hotel. Sodachi had hosted three times this week already. She wouldn't be able to keep it in a guest-ready state like that.

Several hours passed before they took a break.

“Geez, Sodachi…” Renako groaned. “What’s with you today?” She rolled over in bed, then started fumbling for her phone. “I’m gonna order food. You want something?”

“Um…” Sodachi shrugged. “Get me whatever. As long as, you know…”

“Mm, yeah yeah.” Renako pulled up the delivery app and started browsing.

Meanwhile, Sodachi was antsy. It was no surprise anymore than sex did nothing to squash her sexual urges.

“Rena…” Sodachi whispered. “Do you think we could get a round two before the food gets here?”

Renako laughed wearily. “I don’t know if I have that in me right now. Whatever’s going on with you today has left me totally exhausted.”

Sodachi started fidgeting. “Yeah, I’ve been hearing that lately…” She turned to look up at the ceiling. “Something’s been up. I mean, I don’t mind it, but if it goes on any longer, it might become a problem.” It was her turn to laugh, but it was an awkward laugh.

“I get that,” Renako agreed, “Sometimes bodies just do things like that.” She paused for a moment, then said, “Really, what’s weirder is you topping. That’s new for you, isn’t it?”

Sodachi shrugged. Somehow, that felt more uncomfortable to talk about that than it did to have sex.
“I don’t know… Just came with the mood, I guess.” Sodachi wasn’t sure why, but that sort of desire had begun to emerge from within her. Sex was more fun when she was on top, she concluded. She was beginning to enjoy taking the lead.

Before this, Sodachi had always squarely been one to be led. She was happy to let her partners take charge, unless she had to. Now, though, things were different. Sodachi didn't just want to lead. She wanted to command.

It was a new feeling, but a good one. Sodachi liked it.

Little did she know that this new feeling had coincided with several other things emerging from her.

The next day, Sodachi was meeting with someone she wouldn’t have sex with. It was almost a miracle that she had that plan. If it hadn’t been decided more than a week in advance, Sodachi might have cancelled and found a hook up to fill the time instead.

But she couldn’t. This was special. She was meeting with a friend.

Koyomi didn’t know what to expect from that meeting. When he showed up to the restaurant, it felt like today would be just another of the regular meetups he had with Sodachi. Indeed, after a few minutes of waiting, he saw her approach the restaurant through the front window.

There was something different about her. Or rather, a few things. Her outfit was a bit different. She had clearly put in a lot of attention for her makeup. Koyomi rarely saw Sodachi as dressed up as she was now. Sodachi wasn’t someone to slack on her appearance, but neither was she someone to give 100% every day.

Yet, as she approached, he realized that there was something much more significant happening. As she entered the restaurant and walked over to his table, Koyomi noticed something wrong with her hair. Was it a bit messy? No, that didn’t make sense. Not with the attention she had shown to her outfit and makeup.

It was only once she got closer and sat down that Koyomi realized what it was.

Were those horns? Curved horns, like one might see on a demon?

Were demons even real? Was that yet another form of oddity Koyomi hadn’t seen before?

And if so, why was Sodachi now looking like one?

Once Koyomi noticed the horns, he began looking closer, and once he did, it wasn’t long before he noticed a thin tail flicking behind her.

“Um, Oikura…?”

“Mm? What is it, Araragi?” She had the usual venom in her voice. In most respects, this seemed to be the same Sodachi Oikura he had known all his life. Yet, there were other differences in her demeanor. Most notably, she seemed to have a distant expression in her eyes, like she was tired. Was she having a busy weekend?

“Oikura, are you feeling okay? You seem a little unwell.”

She shook her head. “No, I’m feeling great. I’ve had a fun weekend so far.”

“O-oh. That’s good to hear.” If Sodachi felt she was hiding something, then she was doing a good job of it. Her report was like she didn’t know the horns were even there.

They ordered their food and things went as they usually did. The two talked about their lives and what they had been up to lately. It was normal, but still, Koyomi was unnerved. There was something wrong with Sodachi, he could tell. Whatever it was must have been subtle, but there was something.

It was only towards the end of their meal, as it came time to pay their checks, that Koyomi realized Sodachi was checking him out. That was one of the things unnerving him, at least. Sodachi had never shown interest in him before. If anything, she had expressed disgust at the idea of finding him attractive. Yet now, it seemed like, from the ways her eyes crawled across his body, she found him attractive. She was clearly into him.

She knew he and Hitagi were back together. She should know not to do that. Shouldn’t she?

It was as they were leaving the restaurant that Koyomi really became concerned.

“A-Araragi, do you want to go somewhere else? We don’t need to go our own separate ways just yet.”

“Um.” There was a hint of desperation in her voice. That tail of hers was flicking back and forth eagerly. There was even a crimson tinge of a blush across her face. Something was up. Koyomi had to think fast to solve this dangerous problem.

“Can you give me a second? I need to call Hitagi to tell her that I’ll be home a little later than anticipated.”

Sodachi nodded. “That’s okay.” She waved as Koyomi walked away.

Koyomi walked a ways down the road, until he found an alley to duck down. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts until he found the name he was looking for. He dialed, then waited for the answer. He hoped she wasn’t busy.

A few moments later, Mitome Saisaki answered the phone. “Oh, hey. Koyomi, what’s up? It’s not like you to call me on your day off. Wanna chat with your senior?” She laughed jovially.

Koyomi laughed awkwardly. “Well, you see…” He explained the situation as he saw it to the best of his abilities. “A friend of mine recently has grown horns, you see, and a tail. There’s clearly something supernatural afoot. And she’s, um.” He paused for a moment, unsure of how to phrase the next thing he wanted to say. “She’s…”

“What is she doing, Koyomi?” There was a hint of concern in her voice. She could tell Koyomi was on edge.

“Well, when we met up, she seemed normal. She had dressed up more than she usually does, but I didn’t question that. I mean, people change their habits all the time, and we haven’t seen each other in a while, so it’s possible that she wanted to make a good impression.”

“But it was more than that, yeah?”

“Yeah. She… was showing interest in me in ways she’s never done before. A way I figured she would never show interest.”

“She wanted to fuck you?”

Koyomi winced. “Yes. I got the feeling she was looking at me sexually.”

“Araragiii…” From nearby, Koyomi heard Sodachi call out to him. It sounded like she was getting closer.

“Was that your friend?”

“...Yeah.”

“She sounds cute. You go entertain her and I’ll do some research over here, okay? I’ll get back to you once I know more.”

“Araragiii…” Sodachi called out once more, which Mitome took as her cue to hang up. Suddenly, Sodachi poked her head down the alley. “Araragi? Oh, there you are.”

Koyomi laughed awkwardly. “Haha, yeah.” He stuffed his phone in his pocket, then turned to face her. “Just finished my call with Hitagi. She—” He was about to prattle off some excuse, but the words died in his throat when he saw Sodachi.

In just the few minutes they had been apart, she had continued to change. Now, her appearance was even more severe than before.

Those horns atop her head had fully grown in. They now curled above her head like a ram, giving her the appearance of a stereotypical demon. Behind her, the tail, now several feet long, flicked back and forth. As she called out to Koyomi, he saw fangs in her mouth. “C’mon! What’s delaying you?”

But the most surprising change of all was the pair of small, leathery, bat-like wings now sprouting from her back. They were certainly too small to fly with, but they gave her an altogether different demeanor.

Was his childhood friend possessed by a demon? What was happening here?

Before Koyomi could respond to her call, Sodachi stormed over. She grabbed him by the arm and started tugging. “Arara—” She finally tugged enough to make him get moving, “—gi! C’mon! I have a place I want us to go.”

Koyomi was scared of where this was going. Still, playing along was better than leaving Sodachi to whatever oddity she was currently dealing with. He hoped he would be able to deal with it and get her back to normal, but if she was let loose, that wasn’t an option.

“Ah… Oikura, where are you taking me?”

“Someplace fun,” she giggled. Was she acting like an airhead now?

Which, as it turned out, meant a love hotel.

All of Koyomi’s attempts to get a straight answer out of Sodachi had failed. It was only once he realized the part of town they were heading in that he began to get worried. By the time she made their destination clear, Koyomi’s worse fears were coming true.

This wasn’t really Sodachi, or at least, it wasn’t really what she would have done. Clearly, whatever oddity was afflicting her was changing her behavior.

He just couldn’t imagine her doing this normally.

While Sodachi was checking them into the hotel, Koyomi checked his phone. He was hoping Mitome would have already gotten back to him, but it was to no avail. He quickly sent her a text asking, “Any updates?” but he wasn’t able to ask more before Sodachi returned to drag him to the elevator.

“Um, Oikura…” Koyomi tried asking her once they were in the hotel room, “Are you sure you want to do this?” Yet, she was already undressing. It seemed like Sodachi’s mind was totally set. She wanted to have sex with Koyomi, whether or not he wanted the same.

Well, in her eyes at least, he had come with her, and even after it had become clear that they were visiting a love hotel together, Koyomi hadn’t put up a fight, so in her eyes, there was consent. Koyomi could only blame himself for that.

He had to figure out something quickly.

He could only stall for so long, especially when Sodachi was undressing before him. Koyomi had never wanted to see his childhood friend naked, but now he didn’t have a choice. He turned his gaze to the side, but as long as he was in the room with her, it would be impossible to avoid.

“Araragi? Aren’t you going to undress, too? What’s taking you so long?”

Koyomi gulped. He could only put this off for so long.

Thankfully, just after she said that, his phone rang. He looked down to see that it was Mitome again. He breathed a sigh of relief.

“It’s a call from work. I need to take this. Can you give me a moment?”

Sodachi pouted with an uncharacteristic cuteness, but she relented all the same. She waved him away dismissively.

Koyomi stepped out into the hallway. In a hushed voice, he answered Mitome, “Do you have an answer for me?”

“Yup.” There was a certain rough bemusement in her voice. “You got yourself a succubus on your hands.”

“Um…” Koyomi grew pale. That certainly explained the situation. “Well, she's dragged me to a love hotel. So I suppose that's the most logical thing.”

“A love hotel?” Mitome started cackling. “Well isn't that just great.”

“Mitome, can you give me an answer for how to get out of this? I'd rather deal with it quickly. If I don't, I fear something drastic might happen…”

“Gotcha. I did look up solutions to your succubus problem ahead of time. Y’don’t happen to have some salt on you, do you? That's always a good solution for a demon.”

Koyomi patted his pants, but groaned all the while. “I keep some with my work equipment, but none on me.” Salt worked for more than just demons, in fact. For a member of the Rumors Squad, it was an invaluable tool. Yet, Koyomi couldn't have anticipated a run-in with a demon on his day off. If he started bringing his work gear with him everywhere he went, he would rapidly descend into paranoia.

“Alright, scratch that. There's some other methods. Succubi used to have an obsession with corpse semen—”

“Nope.”

“True love's kiss always works.”

“Wouldn't there need to be true love, first?”

“Suppose that's true. Christian prayer?”

“I'm not a Christian.”

“The succubus doesn't know that.””

Koyomi paused for a moment. “It’ll have to do. Can you send me something? I’m not terribly familiar with Christian prayers.”

“Yeah. Gimme five. I’m sure you can hold your own in that time.”

Koyomi glanced towards the hotel room, then grimaced. “I hope I can. Be quick.”

Koyomi stuffed his phone in his pocket and stepped back into the room.

Back in the room, Sodachi was sitting on the bed. She had finished undressing. As soon as Koyomi realized that, he looked down at the floor. Knowing that this was an oddity causing all of these issues, Koyomi wasn’t about to start judging Sodachi for her actions. At the same time, that meant that he would need to ensure everything remained above board. It was too late to avoid seeing her naked, but the less he saw, the better.

“Araragiii… C’mon, get over here.” Koyomi couldn’t see it, but she was flailing her hands wildly in his direction, as if to grab him from across the room. “Araragiii…”

“Ah, Oikura. I…” Koyomi had no idea what he was supposed to say in this situation. He didn’t want to have sex with her, but the succubus would likely start insisting, if he turned it down. Sodachi wasn’t about to relent easily.

Eventually, he sat down in a chair next to the bed. He was still looking away from Sodachi. His heart was about to explode from his heart out of stress. Forget life or death situations, this was the worst oddity he had ever faced.

“So, um, Oikura, is there anything you would like to talk about?”

Sodachi just giggled. “We didn’t come to a love hotel to just talk, silly. Take off your clothes so we can get started.”

“Oikura, I… would rather not. Let’s not do this.”

Sodachi pouted again. “But I want to! You’ll have a good time, too.” She stood up and began approaching Koyomi. “Here, I’ll help you undress.”

Koyomi stood up and tried to hurry away from her. Sodachi began chasing him. It wasn’t a fast chase, but she made her intent known. If it came down to it, Koyomi knew he could overpower Sodachi, but he would rather if things didn’t come to blows. He didn’t want to hurt his childhood friend.

Eventually, however, she cornered him. Koyomi found herself getting pushed towards the bed, until finally, he fell over onto his back. Sodachi fell on top of him, a devilish grin on her face. She began grabbing at his shirt, trying to pull it over his head.

“Oikura! Oikura! Can you stop?” Koyomi tried pushing her off of him, but she was persistent.

He felt his phone buzz, but that didn’t help him. At this point, even if Mitome had a response for him, wasn’t it too late?

“Oikura, please stop. Can you let me check my phone?”

Somehow, that seemed to work. Sodachi dismounted him and crawled to the edge of the bed. “Fine.” She didn’t seem all that happy with it, but she was going to let him all the same.

Koyomi got off the bed and stepped away. He made sure Sodachi wouldn’t be able to see his phone screen, then checked his texts. It was indeed Mitome.

Koyomi began memorizing the prayer she had sent him. He didn’t know anything about Christianity, so he didn’t understand the meaning all that well, but he hoped this would work.

Sodachi’s eyes fluttered. Her vision was bleary. It took her a few moments to realize she wasn’t waking up at home in her own bed. She pushed herself up into a sitting position, then looked around, trying to gather her bearings.

She was in some kind of hotel room, that much was certain. She wasn’t alone either.

Once she noticed the other person in the room with her was Koyomi, she nearly shrieked. She jumped, then covered herself with the blanket. She was completely naked, after all. What had happened here?

“Araragi! What are we doing here?”

She continued looking around wildly. Things began falling into place as she realized this wasn’t simply an ordinary hotel room, but a love hotel.

Nearby, Koyomi let out a sigh of relief. “You seem normal again…” He shook his head. “I’m not really sure how to describe how we got here.”

Even without him explaining, though, Sodachi was beginning to have an idea. Memories were beginning to return to her, not just of today, but of the whole week. As the memories rushed back to her, she began to blush.

What had happened to her? She wasn’t normally like that. She certainly didn’t feel like that now.

Why had she tried to drag her childhood friend to a love hotel? What was wrong with her?

Koyomi seemed to notice the discomfort on her face, because he said, “It’s fine. There was a lot going on. I won’t hold this against you.” Sodachi’s shoulders fell in response. That didn’t exactly help.

Was this a manic episode? Sodachi had plenty of those in the past, but none of them had turned her into a nymphomaniac before. She would appreciate it if it never happened again.

Not that it hadn’t been fun. Her memories of the weekend in particular were scattered, but she remembered having a good time. Yet, now that this was over, she was ready to move on. She would talk about this with her therapist the next time they met. Hopefully, the terror of having tried to have sex with Koyomi Araragi wouldn’t remain ingrained in her.

Hopefully, she would never have a manic episode like this again.

Sodachi looked up at Koyomi. She still had a blush on her face. Awkwardly, she asked, “Can you leave the room so I can get dressed?”
