A Note on Format
I dreamed up this AU shortly after the Undertale 10th Anniversary stream and have been fighting with my motivation to write it since. My motivation isn't getting any better and I have other projects that are taking priority to this one, but I still love this AU and want to share it with people. I'm not an artist, so I'm doing that in the best way I can: through a master document!
This fic will be a weird combination of prose and summary. I will write scenes here and there throughout the narrative, and where I struggle to connect different scenes, the story will be told as an in-depth summary. Each update after this one will cover one chapter.
It's unconventional, but I do hope that it can manage to be interesting for those interested in following!
Introduction
Find Me Where the Lark Is, now shortened to the Find Me AU, is a human/monster war AU focusing on Spamton and Tenna as they find themselves on opposing sides of the war. From their unexpected love on the battlefield to their years separated by the barrier, Find Me will explore their love, their yearning, their lives as they navigate a world set against them.
Cast of Characters
Anthony Tennyson: A human bard whose goal in life is to bring joy to those around him. He possesses very weak magic that allows him to add little flourishes to his performances. Gentle and kind yet maybe too quick to love.
Spamton: An avian monster who befriends Ant after pickpocketing him. A kleptomaniac with big dreams, Spam is ambitious and determined with a heart of gold despite the walls he puts up. His magic focuses on healing but has offensive uses as well.
Silence: An enormous spider monster who weaves their thread into magics. Sly and cunning, they will do anything to protect monsterkind and regularly replenishes the barrier’s magic when it runs low.
Elden: A jaded monster who leads the rebellion on the Surface. After losing his family to the humans, he will do whatever it takes to inflict even a fraction of his pain onto those who took his loved ones.
Swatch: One of Silence's apprentices, takes a liking to Spamton.
Mana: A controlling cat-like monster and Silence’s most promising student.
Cadence “Ennie” Tennyson: A human child taken in by Ant
Seam: an elderly human who lost their monster partner during the war. Gives Ant and Ennie a place to stay.
