Pigeon-man

Summary:

Felix's drunk trains of thought need to be studied, really. Taken under a microscope and picked apart until they can be understood.

Not that that's really possible, though.

OR:

Felix is cute and also speaks his mind when he's drunk.

Notes:

here is my apology for my other chanlix fiction TT this is just cute silly blah blah blah

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Felix was drunk. His face felt hot and flushed from his alcohol consumption, and giddiness caused him to be giggly and overly touchy, happily babbling to Minho, who was nodding along to his bullshit with a very intent expression - Felix really hoped the elder wasn't actually trying to decipher anything he was saying. That would be incredibly embarrassing.

"Well, Yongbok-ah, to me, it seems that you like Chan-hyung," Minho mused, running a hand through his silky hair. Felix had always been jealous of his hair, wanting his to look so soft, but he supposed Minho didn't dye his nearly as much as he did.

"'course I like hyung, hyung! I like all of my hyungs, 'n the other members, all so good! Fighting!"

Minho's lips twitched, and he sighed fondly, voice patient, as if he was talking to a child. "I mean that you like Chan-hyung in the way I like Jisungie. Y'know, Bokkie, romantically, not just in a dongsaeng-hyung way."

Felix's eyes widened, and he quickly covered them. "You're gonna make my eyeballs pop out!" He whined, kicking blindly at Minho's legs from where he was perched on a barstool. He could hear Minho laughing at him, more openly than usual, and gingerly removed one of his hands to give a harsh glare.

"Oh, Yongbok-ah, what is hyung going to do with you, hmm? Your eyeballs can't fall out, silly; and you look like an angry kitten with that expression. Gonna bat me with your scary claws next?"

With an indignant huff, the blonde grabbed his glass, only to find it empty. He turned to the bartender to ask for a refill, but was prevented by Minho catching his wrist and guiding his hand back to the table. "I think you've had enough, baby, c'mon. We should go outside, yeah? Get you some fresh air."

"Don't want to drink fresh air!" He complained, wobbling as he was rudely tugged down from his stool; grabbing the lapel Minho's coat so as not to fall.

"You're not drinking it, you're breathing it in," came the dry retort. Against his will, although that didn't feel very strong at the moment, tears welled up in Felix's eyes. Minho was being mean to him. He had barely gotten a sniffle out when Minho was hushing him, guiding him out of the door with warm, gentle hands and leading him to the benches in the car park.

His head spun as he sat down, and Felix made another pitiful whining sound, watching a leaf be blown across the cracked tarmac. "S-sorry, hyung. 'm being sensitive, right? Too sensitive, need.. need to stop, no-one will like me if 'm sensitive," he slurred, the words coming sluggishly to his head.

"Yongbok-ah," Minho soothed, hand cupping Felix's jaw. "You're not too sensitive, you're really drunk. Hyung should've done better in not letting you drink so much, hmm? You won't be having a nice time tomorrow."

"Wha's happening tomorrow?" He mumbled, a questioning lilt to his voice. He sounded funny, and that thought drew an involuntary giggle from him, which quickly devolved into a bout of coughing. Minho patted his back and rubbed it until he was done and blinking tears from his eyes, rubbing at his throat.

"Well, Bokkie, you'll probably be pretty h-"

"Oh, Chan-hyung!" Felix yelled, spotting the elder across the car park, before promptly clapping his hand over his mouth upon realising how loud he was being, due to Minho's small snort of amusement.

Hearing his name, Chan turned, flashed a smile and headed over, looking fond and serious simultaneously. Felix blinked owlishly at him, noticing that he was no longer wearing his coat.

"Minho-yah, Jisung-ah wants to… Talk? Or something," he conceded, sparing Felix a quick glance. Distantly, Felix wondered if something was being ommitted because he'd probably cry at just about anything sensitive or vaguely upsetting right now, and Chan was checking to see just how out of it he was.

"Ah, okay," Minho muttered, standing with a swallow, shrugging his coat off and wrapping it around Felix's shoulders. "Wear this, hm, Yongboks? It's cold now. I'll see you tomorrow."

Felix gave an enthusiastic nod, pushing his arms through the sleeves. "Tell Jisungie I say hi, hyung, or he'll be 'ngry."

"Yeah, yeah, alright," the elder responded easily, patting Chan on the shoulder before heading off, back into the bar. The door swung shut behind him, and Felix watched the window as Minho's silhouette moved past it and went out of sight.

"He's gone, hyung."

"Observant today, aren't you, Lix?" Chan sat down next to him, his warm arm dropping over Felix's shoulders as the younger cuddled up to his side, pulling his knees up to his chest and resting his head against Chan's shoulder. "How much have you had to drink, hm?"

"Minho-hyung said too much," he giggled, nodding rapidly for no particular reason. "But! I was about to get more, then hyung said I should drink fresh air instead. 'n I said, hyung, you can't drink air, and he laughed at me!"

"Oh? Was Minho-yah being mean to you, baby? That why you're so pouty?"

"Yah, 'm not pouting. You're pouting," Felix retorted, poking Chan's chin and staring at his mouth. Really, Chan had such nice lips, he didn't spend enough time appreciating them. He should spend more time appreciating them.

"Ah, I'm pouting, am I?"

"Mmhm." Felix poked his lower lip. "You're stickin' it out."

"Uh-huh," Chan drawled, gently encasing Felix's smaller hand is his own and bringing it away from his mouth. "We should probably start getting you home, hm, Lixie? Get some water into you, and then some sleep, else you'll wake up with an awful hangover."

"Nope!" He responded gleefully, not elaborating any further. Chan stared at him for a moment, then blinked, cooing. Why was Chan cooing at him? Was his hyung transforming into a pigeon? He gasped and shot up from the bench, pointing at Chan accusingly. "Pigeon!"

"Uh, sorry?" The elder looked bemused. "What do you mean, pigeon? There are no pigeons."

"You're a pigeon."

"Lix, that's not nice. You're really drunk, yeah? We need to go home." Chan stood up from the bench too, holding his hand out patiently. Felix stared at his palm, examining his ring and the bracelet clipped around his wrist.

"That's my bracelet," he said accusingly, not moving to take Chan's hand.

"Yes, you bought it to me and gifted it to me," he said agreeably, not lowering his hand. "I wear it loads, Lix."

Felix stared suspiciously at him, then took his hand, skipping forwards. "Let's go, Channie-hyung! Need to get home, make Jeonginnie porridge!"

Chan didn't dignify that with a response, shaking his head and jogging to catch up with the blonde, who did not seem particularly well balanced. Felix's grip on his hand was tight, tugging him along, and he kept looking back to throw Chan giddy smiles. While Chan was not drunk, barely even tipsy, he felt more off-kilter than he was upon seeing the younger's sunny face.

He almost stumbled as Felix suddenly turned around, hanging off of his arm and staring up at him with wide eyes. "Chan-hyung, your lips are very pretty," he began seriously, resching up to touch and then promptly snatching his hand back to his chest. "Really, I mean it!"

If he didn't have concealer on, Chan was sure he'd be bright red, but unfortunately, that did not stop him from stuttering through his words like a blundering idiot. "A—ah, that's- thank you, uh, Lix. Full of surprises tonight, aren't you?"

"Boo," Felix whispered conspiratorially, then stiffened, pushing himself up on his tiptoes (despite not really needing to) and pecking a clumsy kiss onto Chan's mouth with an exaggerated smacking sound. "Mwah!"

Chan wondered if he was hallucinating. "Felix, no," he warned. "You're drunk, and we need to go home. Calm down, yeah? I'll get you some water to sober you up."

Needless to say, Felix did not look happy with that declaration, and gave Chan the strongest glare he could muster up while tears threatened his eyes. "You're bein' mean, Channie-hyung."

"No, I'm-"

"Shh," Felix whispered, pressing a finger to Chan's lips to (successfully) shut him up. "No talking."

"Sorry?" He said incredulously after a long moment, removing Felix's finger from his mouth. "You're drunk, Felix, we're not…" he sighed. "We can have this conversation when you're sober, yeah? Otherwise you'll end up doing something you'll really regret."

"Won't," he grumbled, tugging away from Chan's grip on his hand. "Only make good decisions!"

"Do you now," he muttered, before clearing his throat and speaking louder. "Your next good decision can be drinking some water, Lix. Sobriety, yeah?"

"Bad decision."

"Uh-huh."

"Pigeon-man, bring me water?" Felix asked, pleading eyes fixed on Chan. He's difficult to take seriously when he's quite so drunk, but also difficult to resist, damn those puppy eyes.

Chan also could not quite believe that he'd been dubbed "Pigeon-man", it seemed only god knew what happened inside Felix's brain, but sometimes, Chan truly doubted that even he, as an all knowing being, could understand Felix's thought processes sometimes.

"Later, baby."

"Now, pigeon-man!" he complained and tugged on Chan's arm.

"I don't have any water for you now, Lix," he grumbled, turning Felix around and leading him back to where the exit for the car park actually was. "We need to call a taxi and get you home."

"Porridge for Jeonginnie!" Felix sang, before he started to skip while allowing Chan to redirect him. "He likes cinnamon, Channie-hyung."

"Very nice."

"I lied."

"Why?"

"He loves cinnamon! Just like I love you, Channie-hyung, and-" he cuts himself off, turning around to whisper into Chan's ear like this is some daunting secret. "-Seungminnie told me he thinks you and I have insane sexual tension!"

Chan goes bright red, concealer rendered useless against the force of his embarrassment. "Ah, uh, that's great, Lix, really amazing. Taxi, now, yeah?"

"Felix loves Channie-hyung!" he chirps, and smacks a kiss onto Chan's burning cheek.
