Rui didn’t want to go to school, he really didn’t need it anyways.
He knew everything they taught, He remembered every single rule they told him, so why did he even go?
That's what he told himself, but he still found himself walking to school every day.
Weird,huh?
His classmates weren’t quite fond of him, so they wouldn’t mind if he skipped, right?
Ah,well—people didn’t have to like him, it was their opinion, after all. People were allowed to have opinions, he couldn’t be mad. Maybe he was just weird. He didn’t really like describing himself like that, but maybe there was truly no other way. That’s what people described him all, so it wasn’t a bad thing, it’s just what he was.
Other people had labels that fit them too, like smart,ugly,loud—-or any word that described them.
Labels weren’t quite that bad, it’s just how people saw you. And if people saw Rui as weird and he didn’t like it, he should just stop coming off as weird.
Simple.
Oh,right. Mizuki had texted him this morning that they would not be coming to school that day.
…
Which left Rui alone once again.
He was usually alone, though, so it shouldn’t bother him.
It did though, but it's okay.
He just had to wait for Mizuki to come back
It's not like Rui was particularly hated in the school,People just didn’t hang out with him. Everyone just had other classmates that they would rather hang out with.
It was fine, really. He could deal with that.
He didn’t like his classmates either, so he didn’t make friends with them.
They bothered him sometimes, but it was alright.
They broke his inventions, but he could make new ones. They stole his things, but they were replaceable. If they spread rumors, he could just ignore them.
Not to say he didn’t mind it though.
…
He minded quite a bit, but…he could deal with it.
It was okay.

Arriving at the front of his school, Rui changed into his school shoes and started his tread to his classroom. Supposedly, Mizuki would come tomorrow, so that was something he could look forward to.
“Hey did you know? There might be a new transfer student coming today!”
What?
New transfer student?
Rui peeked around the corner to eavesdrop a bit more on the two girls gossiping
“Ooooh really? I kinda hope he's a cute guy! The ones at our school are getting boring”
Ah…
He didn’t really want to think about what a transfer student would be like, so he just blocked out those thoughts for now.
He’ll think about it later.

The purple haired boy sat in his seat dozing off, waiting for the lesson to start.
He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, because he had been working on ideas for inventions…he should have a better sleep schedule…
He’d stay up making inventions all day, no wonder why people thought he was weird. That wasn’t a normal thing to do, but it was fun, he enjoyed it.
“Everyone,please turn your attention up here as we welcome our new transfer student”,the teacher exclaimed.
So the transfer student was coming to his class,out of all the classrooms,huh…
Fate really is strange isn’t it?
Rui turned his attention to the front of the room and observed the boy in front of him.
He had yellowish blonde hair with pinkish-orange tips and bright yellow eyes,wearing a yellow cardigan to match his hair. He seemed to have put a lot of effort into his appearance.
Hopefully his personality was bearable,if not-–
“HELLO EVERYONE! MY NAME IS TSUKASA TENMA,TENMA MEANS PEGASUS, AND TSUKASA MEANS TO TO RULE!!! WITH THAT, I AM THE PEGASUS THAT WAS BORN TO RULE THE STAGE AS A WORLD FUTURE STAR, TENMA TSUKASA!!!”
Ah…
He probably wouldn’t be talking to this new student anytime soon.
Rui cringed from the sheer volume of the boy’s—Tsukasa’s—volume,and from the fact that he immediately knew what kind of person Tsukasa was.
And,what's a “world future star” anyways?
The mood in the room changed in an instant,suddenly tense.It was clear the new student had certainly made an “impactful” entrance.

Rui had slept through the whole class,dozing off whenever he could and not caring about the lesson whatsoever,as he knew most of what was being taught.And as the day flew by,as soon as Rui knew it,it was lunchtime.
He decided to eat outside on a bench sketching new ideas for inventions. Maybe a robot with a pattern of yellow stars that could dance? Ah..no,that was a little stupid.

He had to eat lunch alone today. Surely other people ate alone too,so it wouldn’t be weird if Rui did it. Sure,it was a little pathetic for sure,but he could live with it. He hoped he wouldn’t come off as weird sitting by himself.
He wished Mizuki was here,they’d listen to whatever he had to say,judgement free at least–
“HEY YOU!!! MY NAME IS TSUKASA TENMA,A WORLD FUTURE STAR!!!”
Why was he so loud?
“Ah,yes…I know your name. We are in the same class after all….”,did that come off as rude?
It did,didn’t it? Now Tenma would leave him…
Hold on—Leave him? They weren’t even friends yet,how would he leave him?
“Hahaha!” Tsukasa laughed–or,more like straight up screamed—Rui was shocked about how a single person could possibly create so much noise.
“Uh...Tenma-kun–” Rui muttered,as he dug his nails into his arm—a nervous habit he had.
“No! Call me Tsukasa!” Tenma—no,Tsukasa insisted loudly, standing with his hands on his hips proudly,with the biggest grin Rui had ever seen.
“Uhm,Tenma-kun,we just met so–”
“Call me Tsukasa! Tsu-ka-sa! We don’t need honorifics!”
…They had just met though? Are you supposed to give your full government name to strangers? And why did Tsukasa come to him out of all people?
“O-oh,nice to meet you Tenma-kun,” responded Rui.
“HAHAHA!,why of course! I—wait!,Speaking of,I never did get your name!” Tsukasa realized
Rui didn’t realize Tsukasa was actually asking for his name until an awkward silence filled the air and he looked up to see Tsukasa staring looking at Rui expectantly.
“Ah yes aha...I never did tell you my name….It’s Kamishiro….uh…my name is Kamishiro Rui” Rui started giggling…He giggled when he was nervous.
Hopefully he didn’t look like some weirdo who giggled to himself.
“Splendid! What a beautiful name!” Shouted Tsukasa striking yet another pose,as he seemed to do that everytime he shouted.
Beautiful? Rui was going to ignore that part. Tsukasa probably didn't mean that. What did a “beautiful” name even sound like? He didn’t know.
Rui looked down awkwardly at his lunch that still hadn’t started eating,it’s not like he was uncomfortable per se,but he was still processing…Tsukasa…since he was a lot.
He didn’t realize how quiet Tsukasa was until he looked up and saw Tsukasa looking curiously at a notebook—Rui’s Notebook.
“Rui,are these blueprints?” Tsukasa asked,finally looking up at Rui
“A-ah yes,they are.For my robots.”
Silence
…
Ah…he shouldn’t have said that.
Anything else,he could’ve said they weren’t his,he could’ve told him that they were for a project,he could’ve told him anything else.
…
“ROBOTS?! Rui, that's amazing!”
…
Huh?
…
Was Tsukasa actually interested in his inventions…? Interested in him?
“Why do you make them? What are they for–oh! Could I watch you make them?” Tsukasa had to stop himself in the middle of his rant to calm down and catch his breath. He was thrilled at the news Rui just told him,as making robots was very impressive.
It took Rui some time,but after a while it flowed out naturally. How he made his inventions,what he used to make them,and whatever other information Tsukasa wanted to know. As soon as they both knew it,it was time to go back to class.
“Ah,Rui! We should walk back to class together!”
Ah,right,they were in the same class together after all.
Well,Tsukasa wasn’t as bad as he expected him to be,so…
…
He’d hang around him a bit longer.Being around Tsukasa was alright.
And…Another day with him wouldn’t hurt.
So…
“A-alright,lead the way Tsukasa-kun.”

As they made the way back to their classroom,they were stopped by some of their classmates—the two girls Rui saw earlier.
He hadn’t talked to them,but he’d known about them.
They didn’t like him. That's okay,people are allowed to dislike others,it’s not illegal
He disliked lots of people,and lots of people disliked him. It's alright.
He had people that liked him. Rui’s parents liked him,Mizuki liked him,he hadn’t talked to Nene lately but he’d hoped that she still liked him,and Tsukasa–

Did Tsukasa like him?
Well,Tsukasa did talk to him earlier,but who knows if he had been told to do so by a teacher,and he could actually be—
“Oh! Tenma-kun. Come,I need to tell you something!”
Oh…he’d zoned out and didn't hear anything they said. It’ll be fine,probably nothing he cared about anyways.
“Ah…well then,see you at class Rui!” Tsukasa turned away and followed the girls wherever they were leading him too.
…Oh
“Ah..well then,see you Tenma-kun”

The girls had led Tsukasa just around the corner,eager to talk to Tsukasa
Aha! Who wouldn’t want to talk to a world future star after all?
“Hey Tenma-kun…was Rui bothering you?”
Huh?
Ah,They had probably wanted to make sure he was adjusting well.How nice of them! Who wouldn't want to check on a future star like him?
“Oh,not at all! Me and him we’re just talking—hey,did you know that he makes robots? He really—”
“Yeah,we know. He’s actually pretty rude to us y’know?”She gestured to the other girl,”Well,not to spread gossip or anything,but you might wanna leave him alone. He seems nice at first…but that's just because you don’t know him. We’re not trying to be mean,really! We’re just giving you a heads up,Tenma-kun~” The way she had said “Tenma-kun” left a visceral feeling in Tsukasa’s stomach,though he couldn’t put his finger on exactly why….
…
Ah…he did just meet Rui,and what the girls told him could be true but…
Rui didn’t seem rude to him…
So…
He’d hang around him a bit longer,Being around Rui didn’t seem that bad…
Yeah…another day with him surely wouldn’t hurt.

It wouldn’t.
“Tenma-kun? Did you hear us?”
“O-oh yes!” Tsukasa turned away,not wanting to be near the girls any longer, “I’m gonna go to class,goodbye!” Not giving the girls time to say goodbye, Tsukasa bolted to his classroom unsure of what to make of what just happened.

Tsukasa had barely made it to class,and the day flew by.
Him and Rui didn’t talk much after that
…What did he do?
Did he make a mistake?
…
That wasn't good,world future stars didn’t make mistakes! Not often,anyways.
Actually,not at all.

Ah...he was overthinking,Rui liked him just fine!
Most people liked him. Why would they not?
He was Tsukasa Tenma after all!

Tsukasa didn't stop by that day to visit Saki at the hospital. He had visited his sister yesterday though,so it should be okay.
He was tired,needed to rest. He’d woken up two hours earlier than he usually did that morning,to make sure that he looked absolutely perfect.
He’d made sure that everything was perfect.
He’d practiced his introduction in his mirror,over and over..
He’d made sure there was not a single strand of hair out of place,
Not a single smudge of dirt on his clothes,and absolutely zero blemishes or scars on his skin.
Absolutely perfect.
He had to admire himself,he truly looked like a real star!
…
Maybe he shouldn’t have woken up so early though.He was quite tired.
He should go to sleep.
…
Ah…his parents weren’t home today,they were working late. It was a little lonely but…it was fine.
He could handle it,it was okay.
One day without his parents wouldn’t hurt!

As Tsukasa drifted to sleep,he couldn’t help but let his mind drift off to Rui…
He was amazing. He’d have to talk with Rui more,though he’d seemed a bit tense when talking to Tsukasa...
Hopefully,they'll talk more…
