“Yep. That's how they suck you in.”
He looks up from the manga he was reading just to see a group of three students about his age walk by.
“Thats my queue to head home.”
He grabbed a cup of noodles and some chips.
He pays for his snacks.
“A jagged edged ten yen. Huh. Must be my lucky day.”
He walks outside into the early autumn cold that is blocked by his 30,000 ¥ fully cotton tracksuit.
He walks up to the road to cross.
Instead of Subaru getting pulled into another world while he wipes his eyes.
“I guess being tired is a given when I stay in my room all day playing games.”
He decides to take a scenic route back home despite the light rain.
The rain begins to pick up until he regrets not bringing a jacket and an umbrella so he picks up the pace.
He sees a group of people arguing.
『I remember those three they were the ones that walked past when he was in the store.』
Then he sees the truck speeding over with the driver slumped down over the wheel.
『My legs moved before my mind』
He grabbed a young man and threw him out of the way.
Then as he just barely pushed the other two out of the way, he realized he was the only one in the direction of the incoming truck.
Crash*
He couldn't see where the other two went, his body below his waist was crushed
『So much for that body of honed Steele. At least it's not a close casket.』
He chuckled to himself as he could feel his mind fading
『Ambulance lights they hurt my eyes.』
『The sirens they hurt my ears.』
“Hey, isn't that Keni's boy?”
『Of course they knew my dad. Everyone knows him.』
Everything fades to dark.
Then he saw a hallway.
He was most likely being wheeled down in a hospital.
『Considering my injuries I'd be a miracle if I could survive.』
“Hey.”
He grabbed the wrist of the man pushing the cart he was on.
“Huh.”
The paramedic looked in shock as he heard Subaru quietly call out to him.
“Tell mom and dad. I'm sorry.”
He quietly said while tears fell down his face.
He hears the man start to break down after Subaru's request.
2004 Oct 1st 00:00 AM Subaru Natsuki has died.
Suddenly it was warm then a flash of cold.
Subaru began to cry.
As he was crying he noticed there were voices around him.
Subaru called out.
“What's going on here?”
But all that came out was incomprehensible babel's.
He opened his eyes only for his eyes to be invaded by an amber glow of a candle.
Then he saw a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes carrying him in her arms.
Seeing him calm down made her face give a look of relief.
He was suddenly pulled away from the woman into a young man's arms.
『Given the speed at which he scooped me up, he had to be about as strong as my dad.』
The man had long brown hair in a ponytail. When he was young his green eyes shined as he looked at Subaru.
“Rudeus Greyrat. My son.”
Subaru only looked in confusion because he realized everyone was speaking a language he couldn't understand.
He raised his hand to bring attention to himself.
He realized his hand didn't travel as far.
He looked at his hands they looked like a baby's
The adults in the room were surprised by the sudden yell from the baby.
