Fuck. I'm late.
I seriously can't take another warning from Mr McGintley. The guy is always on my arse about the smallest of things and I've just managed to secure a meeting with a law firm I'd been working to meet with.
My heels dig into the pavement, clacking against the ground, as I rush my way into the building. My arms are struggling to keep all of my papers together whilst balancing a coffee cup containing the single substance keeping me alive. All I'm thinking about is going home and I haven't even swiped my employee card.
Everything and everyone in my life is full of bullshit.
Yeah this is a daily thought, maybe hourly?
My shirt label keeps clawing at my neck and my trousers are sticking to my legs and my necklace clasp has decided to roll around and my coffee is depressingly finished and...what else?
Whatever, back to McGintley and his dreadfully unfortunate face. Oh yes, the meeting.
I basically run up the glass stairs(a horrible choice might I add, I always think I'm about to fall) to the third floor, narrowly dodging Joey, a new intern and a random I.T guy in my rush to the conference room. When I finally arrive I take a minute to let my breathing even and support my face in becoming less red (so loving, yes I know). I stand up straight and enter, looking like the ever professional young lady I at least thought I was. There were only 2 people waiting inside.
"Sylvia?" McGintley the bastard says
"Yes sir?"
"You're late"
"Yes sir, I apologise" apologise my arse he can suck my di-
"Is this the lovely Ms.Rosen you mentioned McGintley?" Another unbearable voice added
I snap my head towards the sound. This must be the lawyer assigned to my project. But damn he was gorgeous. Young, tall, clean cut suit in black, polished shoes, and a pretty expensive looking watch. A lawyer through and through.
"She's the lead for our design team. Sylvia you can manage this, yes? I'll leave it to you." McGintley leaves and shuts the door leaving the two of us in awkward silence.
"Hello Mr. Atelier, I appreciate your response to my email and the time you took to come visit today"
"No need to be so formal Ms Rosen, after all I will be working in your company for a while"
"We appreciate the help."
"By company, I meant personally with you, in the same office of course."
"Excuse me? I thought this was going to be over email or-"
"Nope. And we're about the same age, I assume, so feel free to call me Isaac."
"Oh, oh yes right, call me Sylvia, I'll be the one working on the design of your client's building."
"And I'll be handling the land registry and properties, so please feel free to be creative without restraint."
"Oookay, let's get to it then. Hope we can work well together Isaac."
"Likewise Sylvia."
