| a barbie movie marathon and some mutual pining |

Summary:

" "I don't know why you think you have any right to question me or my love life." Shoko didn't sound the slightest bit irritated at that, more so confused, "I'm not the one snuggling on the couch, arms wrapped around my waist during movie night."

At that Geto quickly let go of his grasp on Gojo. The room went quite for a bit, only being filled with the weird sounds of a blue thing named 'Bibble'. Gojo couldn't help but curse under his breath. Damn you Shoko, things were finally going his way and Geto was making some of the moves and now she pulls this. Well it was mainly himself for prying. Damn you Satoru."

Or
Gojo walks in on Geto and Shoko watching Barbie movies without him and reasonably feels betrayed.

Notes:

I wrote this shit during the night after seeing a sad JJK edit. I can't do this anymore and I don't care to check for spelling errors, good luck everybody else.

Work Text:

"What is this."

Gojo snapped, pointing distinctly between the two. Geto was laying out on the couch, his legs taking up all the space while Shoko laid on top of him, staring at her phone as Geto watched the TV. Both were in their respective pjs, oversized shirts and pajama pants that had the prints of infamous characters. Shoko's pants were spider-man themed while Geto's was a jumble of all the My Little Pony characters.

"Relax Gojo, Geto was just being a prick and we compromised and settled for this. Though the movie Geto chose was quite bland. It's Barbie of Swan Lake." Shoko didn't even look up from her phone, still mindlessly scrolling. Geto shifted in his spot, twisting to his side to get a better view of the TV, Shoko putting her head back down onto his hip.

Gojo let out an angry sigh, "So while I was out doing extra work to fight off curses, you guys decided to ditch me, make popcorn, and watch a movie without me."

"I never knew you were so interested in the world of Barbie." Geto slyly remarked, Shoko snickering to herself at that. "Plus it's not our fault you got caught vandalizing the white board, otherwise you would've also watched Barbie has Rapunzel."

Betrayal couldn't even begin to cover the emotions Gojo was feeling. Betrayal, hatred, abonnement, it made his chest heavy. Did his friends truly hate them, were they secretly happy he was gone. Maybe they were even hoping that he wouldn't come back from the mission.

Geto and Shoko must have noticed the face he subconsciously made, glancing at each other with the same worried look in their eyes.

"Well I don't know why you're just standing there, looking all dopey, but go get changed and maybe we'll consider letting you stay to watch Barbie: Fairytopia. I heard some good things about it from the lady selling the DvD." Shoko instructed. Gojo's grin widened at the invitation, the reassurance that they didn't really hate him. That they were his friends for him, not that he was, not to brag, the strongest.

Quickly Gojo skipped to his room and got changed. He put on a loose black shirt he stole from Geto by accident during laundry and never gave back. He also put on his own pair of ridiculous looking sweatpants. He still remembers the day they all went to the thrift store and found these ridiculous pants, though Gojo would argue he found the best one, a pink Hello Kitty sweatpants that even came with pockets. Taking his glasses off and chucking his clothes into the laundry basket, he bounded back out to the living room of the dorms.

Shoko and Geto were surrounding the microwave as the popping increased in volume. Gojo went right behind Shoko and leaned against her, putting his full wait on her causing her to lose balance. Shoko grumbled in response and shoved him backwards as Geto took the popcorn out. Throwing it into a bowl, Gojo quickly took a handful and jammed it into his mouth.

"Isn't that hot?" Shoko asked, the steam still coming off the popcorn.

"Normally yes, but I could never find it too hot." Gojo could feel the inside of his mouth sweltering but he didn't want to give that to Shoko.

Shoko shrugged in reply and put in the new DVD, despite the fact that the other Barbie movie wasn't over yet. Geto put the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and lay back down on the couch. Gojo was about to run up and take his spot when Geto put a hand up.

"Turn off your infinity. It's much more comfortable if you have it off." Geto explained, Shoko nodded in response. Gojo didn't have a problem with it.

Before Geto could get out a thank you, though he probably wasn't about to say that, Gojo flung himself into Geto. Geto was laying across the couch and slammed into the back of it. Gojo laying parallel to him, was blocking the tv screen with his messy ivory hair. Geto groaned in response.

"Move it Satoru, I can hardly see the screen." Geto and Gojo shifted around until they got in a more comfortable laying position, Gojo laying in front of Geto, while Geto was enclosed to the back of the couch, Gojo shifted a little lower so his head was underneath Geto's chin. Shoto finally figured out the DvD and walked away briefly before returning with a blanket to throw across them.

She lowered herself down onto the tangle that was the two men's legs, putting her head on their hips as she faced the TV, the soundtrack just starting. Gojo could feel as Geto slowly wrapped his arms around his waist, resting his head on top of Gojo's as the movie finally started. Shoko even put her phone down, now struggling to throw the blanket over the group. Eventually it fell on them in an awkward manner, but at least everyone had some part of them covered.

"By the way Shoko," Gojo began, Geto shushed him but Gojo kept going, "who were you texting earlier? You seemed really interested in your phone." Gojo taunted.

Shoko kept her eyes on the Tv as she response calmly, "It was just Utahime."

"Shh." Geto once again enforced.

" 'It was just Utahime' ", Gojo mocked, "So what was so interesting in Utahime's conversation that you were stuck staring at your phone?"

"Shhhh."

"Seriously Gojo it's nothing."

"Be quiet." Geto let out in a hushed whisper

"Well I'm a bit sick of all the love sick glances you give each other, you're a cute girl Shoko, platonically of course, you could easily ask her out."

"Shhhhhh."

"I don't know why you think you have any right to question me or my love life." Shoko didn't sound the slightest bit irritated at that, more so confused, "I'm not the one snuggling on the couch, arms wrapped around my waist during movie night."

Damn you Satoru.

After a few beats of silence Gojo started up again.

"I'm sorry for prying, but I do think you two would make a cute couple."

"Thank you?"

And in a heartbeat Geto kicked Shoko and used his, now free hands, to his Gojo on the head.

"I told you too to be quite." He hissed under his breath.

"I never knew you were so devoted to Barbie, geez." Shoko retorted, rubbing the part of her back that Geto kicked. Gojo snickered a little at that and promptly got another hit to the back of the head, a little softer this time.

As the night went on, Geto slowly eased back into being affectionate with Gojo, the darkness acting as a cover. They weren't a think, really, they were just friends, but sometimes they'd have these moments or instances that just feel so right. But it wasn't gay though.

Geto slowly let his arms find their way back over the Gojo's waist, wrapping around him once again. Geto's lips were hovering at the back of Gojo's neck as he rest his head in a new position. Gojo couldn't help but get shivers every time Geto slightly moved. At some point, Gojo eyes just felt too heavy, even though he was excited to be with everyone, he hasn't had a good full nights rest in quite a long time.

. . .

Shoko still has the picture in her office. It was when Yaga-sensei came back into the dorms, finding the three on the couch. At some point in the night, all of them moved around in their sleep, the result being that in the morning they looked like some kind of abstract statue. Perhaps Yaga found the scene endearing, or maybe he wanted to use the photo as a form of embarrassment, but Shoko grew to be fond of it. Now it sits in her office, several decades later.

Every time she looks at it, she feels an unshakable feeling of dread and sorrow. But for the first few seconds she looks over that photo, she feels a sense of joy, nostalgia, and comfort. Even if it's brief, it's enough for Shoko to keep it around in her office. Perhaps it's just another one of her self-destructive addictions.
