Work Text:
Meeting after meeting, wiring email after email. Of course. Rumi didn’t mind it of course as she loved to work and wanted to stay focused. The only problem was there was a regressed Mira out in the wild. Not really out in the wild but loose in their penthouse with no one to watch her. She planned to regress today which Rumi and Zoey both knew about since she was completely off today from photoshoots and she was already ahead on choreography.
Bobby was the person she had meetings with and Zoey had stated she was going to have an intense writing session today to get at least 3 songs written so she knew to not bother her. It wasn’t that Zoey said anything about being bothered, but Rumi knew she would get distracted and she needed to focus. Thanks to Rumi, Bobby was also made aware of both of their regressions and was made aware about today’s possible barrier. She warned him that if there were any interruptions, it would have to do with Mira’s regression and he completely understood.
“Okay Bobby, so I think we also need to discuss-,” Rumi heard loud bangs coming from their kitchen, getting worried Mira had hurt herself. “I-I’ll be right back.
She jolted from her bedroom to the kitchen, seeing Mira on the counter climbing and what it seemed like she was reaching for something. Bowls and plates, all fallen on the floor.
Rumi stood there with her hands on her hips, getting a good look at her little one. A good look that gave, ‘I’m giving you a warning or you’ll be in trouble.’
“Mira, get down from there,” she ordered firmly. In the same tone she gave the pilot when the girls were in a hurry to their show and needed hot water for their ramen.
Another bowl fell to the floor as Mira looked at Rumi. Eyes widened, her face full of shock that her caregiver caught her, knowing she shouldn’t have done that. It was silly since she was the tallest of the three and can definitely reach.
“You’re gonna hurt yourself, sweetie. And you’re too little,” Rumi added, this time in a softened tone. “Now let’s get down.”
Instead of getting down like Rumi had asked, Mira stomped her knee on the counter.
Rumi’s eyes had widened and taken a step back and collected herself before she was going to have an argument. She knew better than to argue with little Mira. Big Mira was another story.
Just as much as she loved her babies, Rumi wasn’t going to let this slide.
“Mira, that was not nice. If you wanted something you could show me in whatever way you can,” she stated firmly.
Now, Mira’s face expressed guilt. Rumi could tell she felt bad.
“It’s okay baby. I know you’re nonverbal right now, so you just need to show mommy what you want,” she added, cupping the dancer’s cheek.
Mira then pointed at the bowl that fell on the floor and Rumi took a glance at it before looking back at her little one.
“Oh, are you hungry?”
Mira nodded in response.
“Okay baby, that’s all you had to tell me,” Rumi cooed. “But first you still need to get down.”
Mira sighed in defeat and wrapped her arms around Rumi’s shoulders.
“Did you want uppies?
The little one sighed from embarrassment with a nod, admitting she wanted it. When she was big of course she had her moments of discomfort, but Mira rarely ever got embarrassed. It was easier for her to get embarrassed when she was in little space.
Rumi chuckled, acknowledging how embarrassed Mira felt. “It’s okay, yeobo. You don’t need to feel embarrassed. I know this is different because you’re taller, but you’re still my baby no matter what.” She kissed Mira’s cheek before she hooked her arms around Mira’s waist to wash help her on her feet.
As soon as Mira was finally down, Rumi opened the fridge so the other girl could make another decision. “So, what would you like to eat?” she asked before Mira shook her head and pointed at the snack cabinet.
Instead of making Mira sign as it would’ve been to complicated to sign that she wanted something from the cabinet, Rumi still accepted the pointing.
“Okay, but no spicy food,” Rumi stated before Mira crossed her arms and stomped her foot. It was clearly what she wanted, but she was never allowed to have spicy food when in little space. The last time that happened, her poor tummy was so upset which was pretty normal in her big space too but the difference was that her big self wouldn’t cry and wail about it like her little self would. Her little self often freaked out over pain which is another thing her big self didn’t do.
Rumi chose not to acknowledge the stomping behavior and instead pulled out a bag of the sweet potato snacks which was a non spicy thing Mira liked when she was little. After pouring them into the bowl Mira had picked out, the little one happily took the bowl from the caregiver and munched on her snack while standing up.
“Excuse me, we sit down when we eat,” Rumi stated in that same tone from before. Mira didn’t put up a fuss and sat down immediately on their couch. She knew that rule.
“Are you happy now, baby?” the leader then asked in a softer tone as soon as she followed suit to the couch, with the visual nodding in response. Rumi smiled at the little’s response and kissed her head. “Now mommy has to get back to her meeting, okay?”
Mira shook her head no after hearing that and patting an empty spot on the couch with pleading eyes, wanting Rumi to stay with her. Normally Rumi would protest and insist on staying in her room during her video calls. However, this time was different. Not just with Mira being little, but she was nonverbal. She knew the little one wouldn’t make a peep and just eat her snack. Also, it wasn’t like Mira was going to pay attention to what was going on in the meeting either and keep herself occupied. She was really good at that when in little space.
“Eh, I suppose I could bring my laptop out here. I can trust that you’ll be quiet,” Rumi chuckled before giving Mira one more kiss on the head, making the little girl giggle.
Just then, Rumi brought her laptop out to sit next Mira and wiping a crumb off of Mira’s face with her thumb before continue her meeting. “So, where were we Bobby?”
