Jinx couldn’t sleep well. Something was bothering her every time she tried closing her eyes for a quick nap or wishing for an endless sleep. She kept dreaming of someone in blue; she was tall and had white hair. The voices? She couldn’t decipher what the tall being was warning her… well, it sounded like a warning. What is weird is that she, too, was like the tall being; she was also blue for some reason.
She looked at her own arm, seeing human flesh and not the blue she had seen in her dream. Sometimes, though, she’d ignore a memory that’s been repeating in her head. It was all blurry, and it didn’t make sense why it kept showing her these things. Her tattoos weren’t really permanent ink. She had these for a very long time, and it won’t come off. She tried to seek anyone who had a history with marks, and it ended with the same answer: her sigil was tied to a powerful being, and there must be a reason why she was chosen.
Lately, her marks have been glowing purple, and that scared her crewmates. She tried to think of any higher-up losers who did this torture to her and kill them. She doesn’t belong to anyone! She’s Jinx, the pilot and explosive member of the Morning Star!
To pass the time, she’d looked at the holograms in the mission room as Yasuo labeled it. Holograms of every planet that they’ve been banned from, and the others that are safe to have a pit stop. She heard voices again and looked around, ready to strike whoever was trying to mess with her. Jinx wanted to scream and throw hands, but she couldn’t risk getting another annoying lecture from her captain.
She pulled out her zapper and aimed it around her surroundings. She wished this was just one of her episodes, but the voices were different. Her tattoos started glowing again, the voices were her own but… different in a way she couldn’t even describe.
“Okay, I get it. This is a fucking dream! I j-just need to wake up-”
A whisper, “Find me, my Bluejay…” Her heart felt a familiar warmth, a red dot was seen in the coordinates and it read a conquered planet by the Dark Cosmic Court. Has she found the answer?
“Find me, my Bluejay. You belong in my arms, do not alert the crew. I want you to look for me.”
Maybe she’s crazy to actually look for the voice, but that voice…
“I’m coming home, Lightbeam.”
