Work Text:
You had been controlling this teenager for a couple hours now, first exploring their school before finding this weird dimension inside a closet that was labeled as a 'dark world' by the prince, Ralsie. You had taken form as the teenagers soul, after you mysteriously had the vessel you made discarded by some higher being, you know, just a normal Thursday.
Instead of always being in their body like an actual soul, you were flying beside them, though you were not perceived by the people around you. It was interesting making the teen, Kristen? look around for you, you would do it yourself but you didn't have a body that could work for that! The 'body' you had was just a red cartoonish heart with small wings attached, nothing you could possibly use to pick up anything successfully.
One of the things you liked to do when you were bored was do little tricks in the air, swooping around and flying around Kristof's head. They were the only one who could see you, unfortunately for them as they seemed very annoyed being controlled. You couldn't blame them, you didn't want to control them either!
Since first coming into this world, you had learned the rules quickly, which is why you were confused when you heard a phone ring. Earlier, you had tried calling anyone on the teenagers phone, but all that played was garbage noise that hurt your ears when you tried. You looked around to try and find out where it was coming from, but it seemed no one else heard the noise, not even Kristine who was now looking at you strangely, after you made them stop walking.
"Hey Kris, you coming?" Susie asked while staring at them. Oh yeah their name was Kris! Right!
Suddenly the ringing cut off and you heard a voice, you're sure you hadn't picked up a phone, but it seems it had picked up itself.
"ARE YOU THERE?
ARE WE CONNECTED?"
A strange voice spoke in your nonexistent ear, making you shutter. You recognized the phrase from when that being made you create a vessel, only for it to be discarded, is it the same guy?
"I think so..? Who is this." You answered, unsure of yourself. Kris looked up at you in confusion, but you turned and flew away for some privacy in this weird inter-dimensional phone call.
"YOU DIDN'T
ANSWER."
The voice skipped over your question with one of it's own. You scoffed, if you could roll your eyes you would.
"I don't really have hands to do that dude, I don't even know where you're calling from." You replied, doing a couple scoops here and there while flapping your wings. The voice was quite for a while, probably pondering what you said.
"INTERESTING..
DO YOU DESIRE THEM?"
It asks again. You go still for a second, before moving around at a higher speed that can hardly be called casual. "You were going to give me a body in the beginning, right? What happened to that!" You demanded. If you were going to get limbs, you wanted your own body instead of controlling this teenagers.
"I CANNOT
GIVE YOU A VESSEL
I APOLOGIZE."
"Why not?! You were going to give me one before, what changed?" you were getting frustrated now, all you were asking for was a body, was that really so hard for this higher being? If they could make one before, they could make you one now. You flew over to a random tree and slammed your body into it, like you were banging your head against it.
"YOU WILL SEE
VERY
VERY
SOON
MY ANGEL."
That made you flinch backwards away from the tree, turning around to address the being like they were present. "My angel? Your giving me a pet name? I don't think we know eachother that well dude." you questioned, slowly spinning in a circle while facing the open area. The voice didn't respond, instead, a few seconds later you heard a click. Did they just hang up on you?? Must have been embarrassed if you had to guess, but you still had more questions! Like who were they, why couldn't you have a body, and why did they call you a pet name of all things??
They would all be left unanswered for now you presumed, as you flew back over to Kris, who had went into small talk with Susie and Ralsie. You were all close to the castle, and close to sealing the 'fountain', whatever that entailed.
When you got close, Kris glanced up at you and raised a brow in mock questioning, obviously annoyed at you having to stall the party moving forward. You did your form of an eye roll, tilting your body dramatically from far left to right.
After you were done, you started to move the party forward once more, the weird voice leaving your mind more and more as things happened that distracted you. One thing still stayed on your mind even as you approached the fountain, however.
Would you ever talk to them again?
The next day, another dark fountain was opened in the computer lab of the local library, or 'librarby' as the sign said. The party entered and chaos erupted instantly, as you found it always did in dark worlds. Even home town was prone to its weirdness, I mean it was named 'home town' for gods sake, but it still surprised you every time some random event happened that made absolutely no sense.
Today, you experienced what it felt like to loose a battle when you fought the annoying blue bird that was hanging around this fountains boss, in a random alley way. His attacks were weird enough, random papers with an A+ hurled at you, tornadoes? And more.
You felt everything go numb, while darkness replaced your vision in the damp alley way, a droning sound playing directly in your ear drums; a familiar voice layered on top of it all.
"IT APPEARS YOU HAVE REACHED
AN END."
You try to speak but it seems you can't, however the voice must know you wish to continue as it replies.
"THEN, THE FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS."
And your vision fades to white.
You start back at the last star you had saved at, you didn't realize it meant literally save, since it seemed your still alive and moments before your battle with that blue bird. You turn to Kris, who stares back at you and waits for you to continue on; did they not know what just happened? You think they would be freaking out a bit if they did, so they must not know, which is probably for the best. You cant get embarrassed at being abhorrent at dodging new attacks now, if you can technically go back in time!
Heading back to the room where you'll fight nerdly, you wonder why Kris doesn't seem too annoyed by the birds presence. If you didn't know any better, you would think they enjoyed fighting the bird.. Which obviously wasn't it. If anything, they wanted to kick his ass too!
Since your first attempt, you'd gotten better at dodging the birds attacks, as you now barely got hit with your amazing dodging. Battles were the only time other people could see you, and you couldn't even show them any of the cool tricks you could do most the time! Kris didn’t appreciate your tricks, and you can't show Susie and Ralsie when you know they definitely would. No one even commented when you did something cool to dodge, you were severely under appreciated. No matter what you did, Kris always got the credit.. Maybe if you sweet talked that guy enough they could give you a body? If you were going to do all of this to save the world, you wanted credit where credit was due, and that means getting a body.
The fight ended abruptly, with you leading the party to victory. You smirked at Kris, who was paying no attention to you whatsoever and instead staring at the bird who was being overly dramatic about his loss. You frowned and instead moved forward, going through events and battles with ease now that you were a little less afraid of loss.
After getting kidnapped by Queen and escaping your second prison of the past two days, the party came across a puzzle where they fought on the solution. You were going to go ahead and solve it for them, when a familiar ringing invaded your senses. You stopped your subtle bobbing and looked over at Kris, who seemed to be content watching the bickering. Seeing everyone momentarily distracted, you slid back into the previous hallway to try and figure out how to 'pick up' the phone. You still had no clue where this phone was, so you instead pretended to pick up a phone with your mind, which actually worked to your surprise.
"YOU PICKED UP
THE PHONE
HOW
INTERESTING."
The voice spoke in its usual tone, still sounding like it was talking directly in your head. It was almost mocking you for not being able to pick up the phone last time, which was rude. No one gave you a crash course on picking up imaginary phones, it was just luck you actually figured out how to this time!
"Yeah yeah, I loved when you explained that to me by the way.. Besides, you would just make me pick up if i didn't again." You replied, flying in a figure eight shape. The voice was about to speak again, but you decided to interrupt it.
"So, why do you keep calling me mysteriously? What's up with that?" You asked. You figured it had something to do with you being the unwilling possessor of a random teen, but you'd like to hear the reason for yourself.
"..HAVE YOU CONSIDERED
THERE IS NO REASON?"
You scoffed and started to do a slow turn in place while speaking, unbelieving of the voices claim. "Yeah right there's no reason, I don't know how much power you have over everything but it seems to be a lot, and I'm controlling a team of kids who are suppose to save the world.. Seems suspicious if you ask me." You accused, finishing your turn and waiting for a reply.
"YOUR SUSPICIONS
ARE VALID
BUT ALL I WANT
IS TO TALK..
..TO YOU"
The last two words were added on as a second thought, significantly quieter than the rest, like they didn't want you to hear them. You didn't know how much you trusted this entity, but what you did know is that they where more awkward than scary at the very least; It was almost, almost, cute.
"Something I've been wondering is who you are exactly.." You asked, you didn't want to keep calling them by 'the voice'.
"THEY HAVE MULTIPLE NAMES
FOR ME
LIKE MYSTERY MAN
OR FORGOTTEN MAN
BUT
THEY MOST OFTEN CALL ME
GASTER"
So He was definitely a man it seemed, but who was 'they' you wondered, someone who had a higher power than 'Gaster'? And did he not have an actual name? It seemed he went by a lot that was chosen for him by someone else.. That was familiar to your situation actually, maybe you had more in common than you originally thought.
"Okay then, 'Gaster', can I have my body back now please? Im sick of puppeteering Kris's, I want credit for all of the cool stuff I do." You asked, almost pleading. You were a little sick of being a floating heart with wings, and it'd only been a day and a half.
"I SEE YOUR
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
THEY DO NOT
GO UN-NOTICED
MY ANGEL"
Again with the pet names, did he call everyone 'my angel' or was it just you? Scratch that, did he talk to anyone besides you? Actually that would explain a lot now that you think about it.. It was nice that at least someone knew it was you doing all this, you were practically doing everything actually!
"I LOVE YOUR TRICKS
WHEN YOU DODGE
THEY ARE IMPRESSIVE"
Gaster continued with his praise of your skills. Now that you thought about it, it was slightly creepy; but also nice that you specifically got so much attention. If anyone asked, a faint blush did not appear on your 'cheeks'. You started to bounce around the hallway excitedly and flap your wings as you replied.
"Im glad someone appreciates what I do around here, I thought no one would notice! Kris just gets annoyed at me-" As if summoning them into existence, Kris walked through the door behind you. Quickly turning towards them, you clamped your mouth shut and went still, as a nervous smile over took your features.
"Heeeyy Kris, what's up.." you asked, acting like a kid who just stole a cookie from the cookie jar.
You heard the click of the call ending, making you feel slightly dissapointed that it was over. Oh well, you had to continue your adventure anyways; if it didn't end right now you might have kept yapping to Gaster for eternity.. You had a strange suspicion he wouldn't mind.
Kris rolled their eyes at you and beckoned for you to come back so you could continue the puzzle, you frowned and obeyed despite your reluctance. The room had quieted down, Susie holding lancer and leaning against the wall, while Berdly pouted on the other side of the room.
You completed the puzzle and the next pretty fast, but despite trying to think of other things, Gaster persisted on your mind throughout the rest of the dark world. He was infecting more And more of your thoughts every time you talked it seemed, though you couldn't say you weren't awaiting your next call.
So far, this was your favorite dark world; everything was so colorful and fun in a way no other could compare, probably because it was centered around television, which was meant to entertain. The main darkner of this dark world, Tenna, was by far the most interesting darkner you've seen yet.
You took every opportunity to learn about him more, and talk to him, you couldn't get the complaints from the party about wanting to leave if you were honest, the games were the most fun you've had so far.
Flying off the stage for a second time, you took the party over to the green room to prepare for the third round, and find anything interesting to do as you waited.
Tenna was an extremely interesting darkner, despite being a little.. Sad. You were definitely pulled towards men who were kind of pathetic, so it was fine by you!
Before you could do much more than enter the green room, a familiar ringtone made its way to your ears. After yesterday, phones haven't been the same honestly. Whatever happened to that Spamton guy must have been brutal.
You left the party and flew over to the S rank room for privacy. Further cementing this by sneaking past the door Ram was in front of and entering the dark gaming room.
You mentally picked up the call like last time, hearing a sound bite of a phone being picked up, that was new..
"MY ANGEL
WE MEET AGAIN"
Gaster spoke, he seemed so happy to talk to you, it was sweet. You still couldn't get over the pet name, however; you wonder if he would ever drop it, or if he would start using more..?
"Hey again, Gaster." you replied, a smile making its way onto your face as you started to bounce around a bit in the dark room. You thought you heard Gaster choke when you used his name, but you couldn't be sure as the call had always been kind of grainy despite being in your head.
"I actually have another question for you." You said, doing many spins and flips as you thought on how to phrase the question. "Is there any way you can stall the end of this dark world? I really like this one, and Tenna, I don't want it to end just yet!" You asked, hoping to get at least a couple more rounds of his games, and maybe more time with him.
Gaster didn't reply for a while, so you did more tricks in the air as you waited for his response.
"DO YOU LIKE HIM
MORE THAN ME?"
That caused you to pause, confused. Where was this coming from? "What, are you jealous or something?" You asked, just throwing out the first thing that came to mind and expecting denial. Instead, you heard a ruckus on the other end, as well as some coughing.
"I CANNOT DELAY
THE END
MY ANGEL."
He finally replied, still sounding caught off guard. You felt a little disappointment, along with the familiar flush you got when he used the pet name.
"Not even for little ol' me?" You shot out your final chance into the ring, hoping for just a few more games. If you could bat your eyelashes, you would, but Gaster wouldn't be able to see that anyways.. Probably.
Instead of an answer, a flower appeared nestled between your right wing and 'body'. It was a light pink, with many petals making up the flower from the center. You felt the blush that was slowly fading before, come back with vengeance as you realized that Gaster just gave you a flower.
"NOT EVEN FOR YOU
MY ANGEL
I APOLOGIZE."
You broke out of your trance and slightly shook your body like someone would shake their head. "No! No its fine.. I uh, like the flower by the way, what is it?" You asked, trying to swallow the feelings that were crawling up your throat.
"A CAMELLIA
IT SUITS YOU."
Oh this guy was trying to kill you! It was hard to tell if the flirting was on purpose or not, because the guy seemed lost himself.
You slowed down the flapping of your wings and took extra care as to not dislodge the flower from where it sat, you'd hate to loose the gift and not be able to pick it up again.
"Thanks Gaster, I like it.." You said, smiling and slowly bobbing in place. You abruptly remembered that you left Kris and the gang, you really needed to stop doing that!
… But that would mean you'd have to stop talking to Gaster.
They could wait every now and then, your sure they liked the freedom anyways.
"I should go back to the party now, I'll see you tomorrow?" You concluded in a question, just to make sure.
"OF COURSE
MY ANGEL
I WILL SEE YOU SOON."
And the phone was hung up.
You left the room feeling lighter than you have in a while, slowly flying back over to Kris, who was playing a racing game on one of the TV's in the green room with Ralsei and Susie.
Once you got close, Kris, who was sitting beside the arm of the sofa, glanced up for a second before focusing on the TV again, then doing a harsh double take at the camellia tuck in your wing. Their car in the racing game slammed into a wall, causing them to loose first place and Susie quickly over taking them with a laugh.
"Hey dumb ass, that's a wall!" She snickered, glancing over to Kris as they turned back to the game and started to race again, ignoring you once more. Usually it would cause you to frown, but you were feeling too elated to care this time.
After they finished their game, which you so gratefully allowed, you completed the next round and Tenna crashed out hard, causing everything to fall apart. Just as he was getting redeemed, the roaring fucking knight appeared and slashed his arms off! If you didn't already hate them due to them, you know, opening dark fountains, this would lower them to most hated. Even worse, its roar made your flower fly off somewhere, and you couldn't go to find it.
Trying your hardest, you couldn't even get past five of their attacks and lost. Weirdly enough, you didn't go back to an earlier time like you usually would, and instead Susie got up and chased after the knight when they tried to abduct Toriel.
The rest was a blur, since you were tired from the day, but even when you closed the fountain and got up for church, Gaster stood on your mind. From barely thinking of the first weird call, to almost exclusively thinking of him in just a few days, he had successfully carved a spot in your mind.
All day you were waiting for Gaster's call, but he hadn't appeared to even say a simple 'hello'. You had no clue if he could even be busy, especially with him saying he saw all you did, so why didn't he call?!
This dark world was different than the last ones, surrounding the prophesy and being way more serious. Not to mention what happened in Noelle's house earlier? You weren't too fond of Kris after that.
Now, the gang had just defeated a titan. A baby titan, which had been massive and extremely powerful.. Kris had closed the dark fountain and since went home, only to discover the owner of the grocery store and Toriel.. dancing and drunk. Even if you weren't fond of Kris right now, you'd take their side in a heart beat.. Toriel really didn't have taste did she? I mean this guy, really?
After going upstairs, Kris had taken you out of their body again, as they did often now, which meant you were snapped into the physical soul in their hand (less cool since it didn't have wings), and threw you into the cage so they could attempt to sleep.. which was hard since their mom was blasting music into late hours of the night.
Kris had left through the window, leaving you alone in a cold cage with nothing to do. Eventually, your vision faded and a feeling of numbness returned, filled with that droning and a sense of peace like you felt when you died.
"WELL DONE."
"THE HALF WAY
MARK HAS
BEEN ATTAINED."
"BUT
IT
IS STILL
WAITING."
"HOW MUCH
LONGER NOW..?"
"MY
DELTARUNE."
A flurry of emotions hit you in that place, faint but real, and yet out of touch. Darkness that was ever present yet not obscuring your vision clouding everything but still left one thing for you to think before rest.
Gaster upheld his promise, even if late, and he discovered a new pet name.
When 'waking up' today, as you did not need sleep but still slept some how, Kris climbed back through the window looking deathly pale and on the verge of decaying. You don't know why they stayed out so late when they knew they needed their soul, probably going to meet the knight to discuss world ending plans, or something as traitor like, like that.
They crawled over to the cage and accidentally tipped it over, causing it to crash onto the ground, before struggling horribly with trying to grab you.
After that fiasco, you did what you normally did and looked around at everything you could possibly make Kris get their hands on. This quickly lead you to castle town, and after looking at everything there, you went to the festival where the party met up with Noelle. Unfortunately, you only barely got a glance before cold hands covered your body and dragged you backwards.
You felt the air change, and when you opened your nonexistent eyes again, it was pitch black, save for a table in the distance.
Saying you were confused was an understatement, you had way too many questions as usual. Where was this? Why were you the only one here? Were you about to go to the farm house in the sky? And so on.
Doing a quick three sixty, you quickly learned there wasn't anything but that table in the distance, so you headed over to it cautiously. We'll, not too cautiously, because you were a little too curious for your own good.
Getting closer, you saw a vase of the same pink flowers Gaster gave you before, and two chairs pushed into the neatly set up table. Of course, you weren't glossing over the very obvious man seated on the other side, who was staring directly at you in a patient manor.
Using your amazing deduction skills, you figured this was probably Gaster. He was definitely not what you thought he would look like, a pale face with scars coming from both his eyes, and a body that didn't seem quite right, made up of a black substance that followed a wind that wasn't there. His hands were folded in front of himself and resting on the table. They had a hole that went directly through the palm, which made you wonder many things that you'd keep to yourself.
As you got to the edge of the table, he tilted his head while his smile grew, staring at you so sweetly you'd melt if you could.
"MY ANGEL
WE FINALLY MEET
FACE TO FACE."
His voice was clearer now that you were talking directly, having a soothing note to his usually quite scary sounding tone. You flew to the chair opposite of him, pretending to sit down by instead floating above it at table level.
"You know, you could have warned me about this instead of kidnapping me off the streets!" You teased, looking at Gaster who just smiled deeper with such a heavy infatuation in his eyes it threatened to drown you in the vast lake of inky depths.
"IT WAS
A SURPRISE
I COULD NOT WARN YOU
WITHOUT GIVING IT AWAY."
He replied, moving one of his hands to rest under his chin, the right making an invisible circle on the table with his pointer. You started to bounce around a bit, not one to stay still for very long before speaking up again and changing the topic. "I see you got more of these flowers, camellias, right?"
Gaster smiled and picked one out of the vase, before moving it out of the center completely and leaning over the table to put it in your wing again himself. This time, it was so much more intimate, causing a blush to rush to your body. Thankfully, you were already a bright red heart, so it was extremely hard to tell when you blushed.
"YOU LIKED IT
SO MUCH LAST TIME
BUT IT GOT LOST
SO I GOT YOU MORE."
His hand pulled back, while you ignoring how he definitely took his time pulling away, and instead smiling a goofy smile. You did that so much when you talked to him that it was starting to hurt, though it wasn't much of a complaint. You decided to to voice something that had been on your mind since you first saw him, moving away from your designated spot and towards the middle of the table.
"Ive been wondering since I first saw you, what happened to your face, and your hands? It looks painful.." you sympathize. Gaster doesn't seem too bothered by the question, instead leaning in and bridging the gap between you even more.
"NOTHING OF MATTER NOW
MY ANGEL,
WOULD YOU LIKE
TO SEE CLOSER?"
He asked, putting his hand flat with the palm up. You flew over slowly, before resting on his palm and inspecting it. His hand was cold, almost freezing compared to your bodies natural heat.
Yup, that's definitely a hole, a pretty round one too, with no signs of effecting any area around it. Not a chip or a crack, its like someone used the world best cookie cutter on the world's most behaved dough.
"Man that must have hurt.." you mumbled to yourself, almost going un-heard. Abruptly, Gaster shifted just slightly and raised his other hand carefully towards you, causing you to face him to see what he was doing.
His index finger started to gently pet the top of your body in a soothing motion, heating you up once more in a cycle that was bound to repeat, with how this meeting was going.
"What are you-" You tried to speak, but Gaster interrupted you.
"MY ANGEL
SO CURIOUS
IT WILL HURT YOU ONE DAY,
BUT FOR NOW IT IS A BLESSING."
He stared adoringly. You couldn't tell exactly what he meant by that, but the last line made you shiver; your wings resting on his hand in bliss as he continued to pet you.
"Your probably right, you seem pretty smart, and handsome." You smirked, not so subtlety shoving compliments in there. Gaster's eyes widened as a green blush fell onto his cheeks. It looked good on him, though the green was weird.. you would have thought it would be purple or something. You let out a chuckle and pushed into his finger a bit, like a cat would rub its face on your hand as you scratched its cheek.
Gaster turned his face away in embarrassment, causing you to chuckle more. "So, do you have anything else planned or are we just gonna talk, because im down for either." You said, wings slightly fluttering against Gaster's hand. The camellia was pinned much better against your wing as to not fall off this time, letting you have more movement with them.
"WHATEVER YOU DESIRE
MY ANGEL."
Gaster was definitely using that pet name way more often since their first meeting, and its setting you on uneven ground. You had to come up with a pet name for him next, fluster him just as much!
"Then we can just talk for now, my star."
It was a little corny, but it worked in flustering the man. His face flushed so much it was practically just green, you could see sweat start to form on his face as well, as the finger petting you got more frantic.
Fluffing your wings in pride, you waited for Gaster to collect himself before speaking once more. "Your way less bold in person, you know. Whenever you'd call me you would be all bark, but now I see you had no bite!" You expected another big reaction like before, finding fun in embarrassing him when he couldn't run away, but instead only a small blush rose to his face, and he looked back at you adoringly. The petting died down, before he leaned in to just a couple breathes away.
"IS THAT A CHALLENGE?"
You blushed and tried to turn away, but the hand that had been petting you gently turned you to face Gaster again, who had seemingly gotten closer again. If a sentient heart could sweat, you would be at this very moment. Gaster leaned in and placed his lips on the top of your body, giving your 'forehead' a kiss. He held there for a second, before pulling back with a grin that looked way too proud of itself. Your wings shot up in shock at the action, heating up to boiling degrees.
"I BELIEVE OUR TIME IS UP
MY ANGEL.
WE WILL MEET AGAIN."
Gaster smiled, and you jumped out of his hands in surprise and shock at his suddenness. "Hey you cant just end it right after that!-"
Before you could complain more, or even give him a kiss back in retaliation, the two hands that brought you here, which you now realized looked like Gaster's, pulled you back into hometown. The sudden sun, noises, and humidity made you clam up and close your 'eyes', your wings coming to protect your face in instinct.
You felt the hands disappear, catching yourself by quickly flapping your wings so you didn’t get dropped like a bouncy ball. The annoyance, but also embarrassment from that whole interaction started to eat you whole, cheeks flushing while your teeth clenched.
You couldn't believe that man! One second he couldn't take a compliment, and the next he kissed you and sent you home! The kiss had been pleasant at least, more than that, it made your whole body heat up and your insides twirl.. Even through your annoyance you yearned to have kept going with that, why hadn't you kissed him first? If you had been the initiator maybe you could have went farther with him..
Your frankly degenerate thoughts were interrupted by a laugh you recognized, looking around you quickly saw Susie and Noelle walking around and laughing together, holding ice cream cones. Farther behind them, Kris and Berdly were talking. We'll, Berdly certainly was, Kris was looking at him with this look that made your skin crawl. You saw Berdly look over at Noelle and Susie, then the ice cream stand, and rush over, leaving you an opportunity to slide back in and assess the damage that happened while you were away..
"Hey Kris, so, hows the festival been so far??" A sugary sweet smile made its way on to your face, so packed full of fake sweetness it could kill a Ralsei shaped horse. You didn't really talk to Kris, as when you tried they ignored you, but you decided to ask anyways. Kris looked up at you, then to the new flower tucked into your wing, before raising their brow in lieu of asking where you had gone.
You actually didn't have an answer for that, what were you suppose to say? You had been texting a mysterious powerful being every day, and then got kidnapped and went on a date in an empty void? As if you weren't taken seriously enough!
"I just went somewhere for a bit, what, you weren't happy to be by yourself for once?" You mocked, raising a brow like they had did prior and smirked. Instead of taking the bait, they signed to you. "What, are you embarrassed or something? Go on a date?"
Even without them speaking, you could hear their mocking voice. You flushed, out right confirming what they said, and spun away from them to try and avoid showing it. "Shut- shut up.." you forced out, before realizing it probably made your case worse. You heard them snicker, spinning around ready to say something back about hanging out with Berdly, but said monster had just came back from getting ice cream for the both of them.
Instead of words, you decided to in-act your revenge by making them be nice to Berdly. You couldn't actually think they wanted to hang out with him, despite already doing that before you came back, so it was prefect!
For the rest of the festival, you enacted your plan, only for Kris to seem way too happy for it to be actually working.
No matter what happened though, you were just excited to see Gaster again and take your revenge.
