The All-Too Gleeful Executioner of the Cult of Eyes.
Once, a humble butcher struggling to get by was found by a man who would pour honey in his ear with the promise of success at the cost of his individual freedom. Moral and social suicide in the pursuit of his ambitions. Complete loss of humanity.
Thought to be merely a remarkably skilled and naïve countryman, but proved to have a much more wicked mind underneath layers of charm. Whether he was already twisted before the Cult found him is anyone's guess. But one thing is for certain: his prestige was only earned through the brutality and effectiveness of his handiwork.
Ceaseless, inhuman appetite came as a byproduct of his role.
But who was he truly after? In a town with only hundreds of denizens, eventually the population would grow. And so would the Cult's potential ranks...A pressing level of control or surveillance would have come into place.
He would become the town's omen. The last thing one would ever want to encounter. Those who defy would face punishment by crossing the underground gates to meet their new god— a death far more dignified than becoming prey for the Cult's ravenous mad dog. The beast who takes great pleasure in devouring indiscriminately, laughing and boasting as it proves no one shall be spared.
Perhaps even if it were an undesirable role, the powers that be would rather keep the valued monster entertained, while his peers turn the other way as long as the task is completed.
As long as the Devil is sated.
