Chapter Text
Baek Saheon knows that Kim Soleum definitely finds it amusing to toy with him, but right now it feels like he ought to start writing his will.
These past few days, he's noticed that psycho's been acting a bit differently.....fifty times more terrifying.
He stares at him. Alot. Kim Soleum probably thinks he doesn't notice, but who wouldn't notice those ominous pair of eyes of his?? Each time he stares at him, Baek Saheon definitely feels like he's being sucked into a black hole. His black irises feel like a never-ending void, and those blood-red pupils that Baek Saheon oddly feels that he gets lost into everytime he stares into them.
It was terrifying enough just living with him already, but now that he stares at him constantly at any chance he gets, it just feels as if he's plotting to murder Saheon!!
He's also been acting a bit nicer to him, to the point it's getting creepy!!!!
Yesterday, he held the door for him while they were going into an elevator together. Maybe that's the bare minimum and all, but its fucking Kim Soleum. What surprised Saheon was the fact that they did small talk. Normal small talk!!
It was unlike that psycho bastard to just, ask how his day was going, how hard work was, and he even told him to stay safe? But then again, he also added,
"I wouldn't want you to die yet, before I've had my fill of fun."
'What is wrong with you??'
It was safe to say that the rest of the elevator ride was silent after.
He also bought him a drink for some reason. Without asking for anything back.
Saheon took the drink, obviously confused on why Soleum would by him a drink for no reason. Then, he heard a chuckle. A chuckle?? It seemed as if Kim Soleum was trying to hold in his laughter.
'He's planning in doing something to me, isn't he??'
And the cherry on top? He hears Kim Soleum talk about him to that damn bunny doll every, single, night.
It's not like he wants to eavesdrop on his "conversations" with that creepy doll. It's just that the walls in their company dorm are so thin, there is no thing such as privacy.
Whether he's out in the living room watching cartoons, or in his own room, he hears everything. Albeit a little muffled, but clear enough to make out his own name.
"...Baek Saheon? It's not like that..."
"Braun, Baek Saheon is...."
"Baek Saheon, what am I going to do with you...."
'Why. The. Fuck are you talking about me to that doll?? This creepy bastard...!!!'
He couldn't catch a break with that psychopath.
Kim Soleum wanted to bury himself six feet under after he came to a realization.
'I'm inlove with Baek Saheon...?!'
It's not like he was absolutely smitted with him. No, it made Soleum want to retch at the thought of being a hopeless maiden inlove for Baek Saheon. (or did it...?)
It's just that everyday, he found himself looking at him. No matter what, his eyes always landed on Baek Saheon. Staring, observing.
He'd notice how he'd scrunch his eyebrows when treated unfairly at the company. He'd notice how he'd smirk when he saw loopholes to exploit for his own gain. He'd notice how is eyes shined at the opportunity for easy rewards.
It was honestly cute.
But most of all, he'd seen how he'd absolutely avoid staring Kim Soleum in the eyes. How he'd slightly hunch his back around him uncomfortably. How he'd make a not-so subtle frown whenever he was stuck next to him. How he'd—
The list would go on and on about how Saheon would react negatively towards Soleum.
Honestly? He didn't mind if Saheon hated him a little or alot. I mean, that was kind of the whole point of the psycho act he did with him.
'I mean, I guess it would still be nice to see him happy at times...'
So, he tried to at least help him with his day. (Although, very subtly to not ruin his facade.)
He made small talk and bought him a drink the day before. It wasn't much, but it wad the best Kim Soleum could probably do for now.
He couldn't help but let out a tiny chuckle as he watched Baek Saheon grab onto the drink with a puzzled expression. He look like a deer on headlights.
Sometimes, he'd talk about his very, very slight romantic attraction towards Saheon with Braun.
[Friend, do you happen to have feelings for that roommate of yours?]
"Baek Saheon? It's not like that," he mumbled, flustered, "...Well, maybe it is."
[I see. While I may not be able to share your vision, as your Good Friend I will support you unconditionally in your romantic endeavors!]
"Braun, Baek Saheon is...well, he's manipulative, self-serving, and just....a difficult person in general. Why would I be inlove with him out of all people?"
[While this Braun will support you no matter what your opinion is, I believe that you should be honest with yourself, Friend.]
He flushed at the implication of what Braun had said.
"Baek Saheon, what am I going to do with you....." he let out a sigh as he buried his face into a pillow as he resigned to his feelings.
He really did love him. Viper. No, Baek Saheon.
After a week of suffering, things only seemed to get worse for Saheon.
Not only did he continue with the staring and the creepy acts of kindness, but he also started to smile at him more often (creepy!! but somehow his smiles felt a bit less creepier then they used to be?) Oh, and he also stayed in their shared spaces more often when they were together.
Whether it was to stare at him, give him snacks, or having small talk with him.
It was so unbearably suffocating.
Each time, Saheon would break out in cold sweat as he imagined the countless ways the other could and would brutally murder him all for kicks. Every single minute spent with him was spent in utter agony.
'Can you stop talking to me about how my day was?? I just want to microwave my dinner and leave!'
He'd wonder each day when Kim Soleum would finally kill him once he grew bored of Saheon.
Today, just as usual, Saheon left Squad F's office to go back to the company dorm. The elevators were out of order that day, so he was forced to take five different flights of stairs down. While it was a lot of stairs, it wasn't too exhausting nor would it take too long for him to go down.
While heading towards the stairs, he ran into him. Well, if his day hadn't gone to shit before; it had now.
"Haha.....It seems we're heading down at the same time again...sir." Saheon said.
"Yes, we are."
'Well, is that all you're going say?? No, it's better off for him to say nothing more.'
Thankfully, they walked down the stairs in silence. Kim Soleum didn't try to make any creepy small talk, nor did he stare at him too much. It was still fucking terrifying since he was walking down the stairs with him of all people, but Saheon was only grateful that he wasn't too creepy today.
As Saheon focused on the other, hoping that nothing bad would happen, he felt his left foot fall over as it reached for the next step.
He braced for impact as his head was about to hit the ground...But it didn't?
He looked to see that Kim Soleum had grabbed onto his arm just in time before he fell to the ground. It was a bit surprising that he'd actually held onto him instead of letting him fall, but what surprised him the most was the expresion on his face.
He'd thought that for even the slightest moment, Soleum's expression looked concerned...worried that he might've gotten hurt.
But before he could process it well, his face had changed in an instant. Did hd even see it properly..? Whatever, must've seen it wrong.
Saheon felt as if his heart was beating out of his chest. Maybe a little fuzzy. His face felt a little hot as well. Heart palpitations, probably. He'd just nearly gotten a concussion, after all.
Just when he started feeling the slightest bit of gratitude towards him, the psycho bastard opened his mouth.
"I told you to be careful. Like I said before, I don't want you dying before I've had enough fun with you."
'What was I thinking, being thankful to him??'
The rest of the trip to their company dorm was in silence. Quite awkward, really. But neither of them wanted to strike up another conversation after what had happened.
