@garthdvycsbf has uploaded a video.
[The video started with a shaky pause as the person recording placed the phone down onto the dashboard of their car. The person came into view next, a tall young man with blonde hair and black glasses who looked awkward in front of the camera.]
“Hello. My name is Garth. You might know me from my girlfriend, Vyctoria’s, videos, where she is always surprising me with things, and today I wanted to do the same for her.”
[He paused for a second as he rubbed the back of his head.]
“I’m not very good at this, it’s my first time making a video, so, uh, stick around if you want, I guess. Anyways, what Vyc usually does for me is surprise me with something she’s made or bought or things like that, so today I am going to go out to the shops and make her a surprise bag.
“I’m not sure what to say now so let’s just go, and I hope that I will be able to edit this to make it look, er, presentable.”
[The video cut, switching from the interior of a car to the interior of a supermarket. It focused on Garth’s face as he held up a present bag to show the camera.]
“I just found this nice bag I think she will like, it’s this pretty blue with some clouds on it. It’s a little bit smaller than I’d like but that’s alright.”
[The video continued recording as he began walking through the store.]
“My plan is to fill this bag with all of her favourite candies, but I’m also going to create a fake bottom for the bag so I can surprise her with some Pokémon card packs. She’s been telling me about a new series that’s come out, but she hasn’t bought any yet, so I’m doing it for her.”
[The video cut again and was now in a fixed position, presumably propped up on one of the shelves in the aisle. Garth was standing in front of the camera with two bags of candies in his hands.]
“She really likes these red cloud gummies, but she also likes the rainbow sour strips… I think I’m going to get both. She does so much for me, I think I can afford to splurge today.”
[The video cuts to a similar shot of a different aisle.]
“I wanted to just get candy for this but she’s been wanting this Monster High doll since the reproductions have come out, so I figured I’d buy this too while I’m here.”
[The video cuts again to a shot of Garth walking through the store.]
“Okay, so, I’ve bought a couple more things of candy and now I need to check the Pokémon packs. Oh, I also bought some cardboard to make the fake bottom… I can’t remember the name of the series she wanted so I hope one of the workers will be able to help me.”
[He paused for a second as he approached the counter and started talking to the employee at the counter.]
“Hello, um, do you have the most recent Pokémon series that came out?”
Employee: “The Pitch Black Mega Evolution series?”
“Uh, I think that’s the one.”
Employee: “Yeah, we have a couple of those.”
“Great. How many?”
Employee: “There’s a limit of five per customer.”
“Oh. Okay. I’ll take five then.”
[The camera shook as Garth presumably took the packs from the worker.]
[Whispering]: “Okay, great, it’s time to go pay now.”
[The video cut and switched to a new setting — the interior of a house. Garth is sitting on the floor with all the items he bought on the floor in front of him, as well as a pair of scissors. He is holding up the Monster High doll.]
“So, I don’t know how I’m going to incorporate this doll — I got Cleo De Nile — into this, because it won’t fit into the bag, so I think I’m just going to surprise her with that separately.
“Now I’ve got to create the fake bottom, so I’m going to cut up this cardboard and put everything in and hopefully I will figure out how to edit a montage. Or just speed the video up.”
[The video then started to speed up as Garth cut out the cardboard and assembled the bag. After a couple of sped-up seconds, the video returned to its regular pace.]
“It is done! I wanted to write a little card but I am very dyslexic so I think I will skip out on that. I hope she doesn’t mind.
“She’s at a class right now but she’ll be back soon so I will give it to her then and record her reaction.”
[The video cut again to the same house interior but the camera was set up in a different position. Garth was standing a little off center, and his girlfriend, Vyctoria, was the same on the other side of the screen.]
“So, I’ve got a surprise for you.” Garth said, holding the bag behind his back.
“Really?” Vyctoria asked, voice sweet but surprised.
“Mhm. You always buy me stuff so I thought I’d do the same. You’ve been… studying for that big exam, so I figured this could help you get through it.”
Garth held out the bag to Vyctoria, almost spilling over with the amount of candy that was stacked inside of it.
“Oh, no way!” She exclaimed, taking the bag with excited eyes. “You’ve got everything in here!”
Garth smiled warmly. “I tried to get your favourites but some things were out of stock, so I hope this is okay.”
“Are you kidding?” Vyc gasped, flinging her arms around Garth and burying herself in his chest. “This is awesome. I love it.”
He hugged her back. “There’s still another surprise though. In the bottom of the bag.”
Vyctoria pulled back with her brow furrowed, searching the bottom of the bag. “What? Where— oh I got it— no way! You got me the Mega Evolution series? I thought scalpers would’ve got to them already! Holy shit, you’re the best.”
Garth bent down and kissed the top of her head. “There is one more thing.”
Vyctoria quirked an eyebrow. “Yeah? What is it?”
Garth pointed directly at the camera. “I recorded this.”
Vyctoria turned her head to locate the camera and while she did so, Garth quickly bent down to retrieve the hidden Monster High doll. He held it up in front of him so she’d see it when she turned her head back.
“You— what is this to post—? What?! You got me another thing?” Vyctoria’s eyes were wide as she gripped onto the Monster High doll.
Garth nodded, pleased with himself. “I know you wanted this one so I couldn’t help myself.”
“Shit, dude, this was my favourite back when I was a kid.” Vyctoria hugged him again. “You big, stupid, idiot this is so nice of you.”
She pulled back to kiss him on the lips. “You’re gonna make me look dorky as hell when you post that now.”
Garth smiled and kissed her cheek. “I know.”
[Video end.]
