Chapter Text
It was an normal day for the rest of humanity, it was the same- families spending time with each other, children playing, students studying for quizzes or tests, police and detectives investigating crimes, heroes saving the day, villains terrorizing society, prince and princesses meeting, nobles conspiring against one another, etc...- They did not expect for an earthquake to happen. Not just any earthquake, but something of large magnitude that cause the ground to crack. Then quiet.....A bright rectangular light illuminated up in the sky and a voice bellowed out that every being, even deep underground couldn't help but listen.
DC UNIVERSE
Citizens from Gotham, Star City, Metropolis, and all the way above the atmosphere screamed in terror and panic after the earthquake subsided. Heroes who couldn't do anything before acted now. Managing the situating with professional ease and seriousness.
"Hey someone's stuck over there!"
"The buildings' on fire!"
"Superman plane 432 and plane 563 are about to collide-!"
"On it!"
"Manhunter the tower!"
"Diana to the Amazon Rain forest! Heat signatures pick up at least 50 people stuck"
It was the crazy and stressful 2 hours they experience that week (only) of relocating civilians, stabilizing infrastructures, calming down families who waited for their loved ones to return, and just saving as many people as they can.
"Soooo...Hate to be bearer of bad news but does anyone notice the floating screen up in the sky, cause it feels like the end of the world has begun or something" Green Arrow snarked. Intending to lighten up the mood inside the Hall of Justice, their fake base.
"We have no idea what it is" Answered Batman. He was looking up at the screen in the sky, eyes narrowed, assessing the situation in light speed. His face was grim as it always has been but Green Arrow noted the obvious stiffness in his body. Being friends with the bat for so long you could note a thing or two of the different expressions he made.
"Sending our best League Members does nothing to it, every time they even set a foot within the 50ft limit they always were sent back to where the once stood" Grumbled Batman, upset at the fact but still hold the firmness in his tone. Green Arrow just nodded, he saw what had happen when Superman, the Green Lanterns and even Doctor Fate tried to get close to the 'screen' ,as they dubbed it, and always shown no results other than being suddenly teleported to another area.
"All we can do now is wait and prepare for what's gonna happen next. Civilians in a 50-mile radius near the thing were relocated to another city" Batman sighed. Green Arrow offered a comforting pat on Batman's shoulders "Don't you worry Bats, we will get to the bottom of this". Batman nodded at his childhood friend. "I hope so too" He muttered under his breath, feeling a sense of impending doom that wouldn't go away.
"Doctor Fate! Are there any updates regarding our mysterious object" A female magician questioned the golden wizard before her. The two were standing on a tall skyscraper, carefully examining the screen without it triggering it's defense mechanism. "No, other than it being something out of our world, even our universe" Doctor Fate muttered in a low hush voice, tone filled with worry as how even HE can't understand this anomaly.
"Don't beat yourself up mate, that's my job after all"
"Ah, nice to see you showing up Constantine" Grumbled the Golden Magician, both annoyed and relieved. "So do we have other information about this thing, Batsy has been pestering me about it, asking questions after questions" Complained John. "One would think he should try and relax for a while, would do him good". Zatanna chuckled " You know Bats never relaxes while on duty, especially this kind of thing". John shrugged "Well, he should".
Doctor Fate shushed both of them when he realized something is happening. The two of them looked back and both of them had their eyes widened when the rectangular thing began to flicker and glitch. "Is it- glitching?" John gasped. "I think so too, better tell JL" Zatanna stated, establishing communication in her earpiece.
"Batman, We have a situation over here...Get ready"
TWISTED WONDERLAND UNIVERSE
The World of Twisted Wonderland was in shambles after the earthquake stopped, and no aftershocks were felt. The two schools in Sage Island suffered tremendous damage.
Yuu was breathing heavily along with Grim. They were hugging each other tightly, afraid to let go even for a second. As soon as the earthquake stopped, they waited a few minutes for aftershocks then left the table they were hiding under and scrambled out of the Ramshackle Dorm.
"Myah! That was so scary henchmen!" Grim cried out still holding Yuu's neck tightly.
"Don't worry Grim, at least it's over" Yuu sighed in relief. Atleast I hope so...
They both looked at the dorm in front of them, debris lay scattered everywhere as if they were broken glass, cracks on the ground appeared on every corner they see- not a single spot of green unscared. It was almost beautiful to look at in a different perspective...if it weren't for the terrifying experience in their lives. Yuu grunted as she walked back to NRC, she knew it was stupid to head over there after an earthquake but she needs to see if everyone is okay. The shaking was really strong, strong enough to almost turn the entire dorm and it's nearby areas to stone and dust.
NRC COLISEUM
"Is everyone here?!?" Headmage Crowley bellowed, his voice ringing across the Coliseum, the bird mask he always wore dusted after teleporting the other students who were stuck in between falling debris.
"Heartslabyul Complete!" Housewarden Riddle answered back just as loudly while rubbing his injured arm.
"Savanaclaw too" Housewarden Leona grumbled as he placed a wounded Beastman on the ground softly. His forehead dripping in sweat, and breathing rapidly after running around campus to see if more students have been trapped under rumble or hurt too much to move.
"Octaniville all present" Houseward Azul gasped as he tumbled a bit, Floyd by his side steadying him while Jade escorted other students to the severely inured section.
"SCARABIA IS HERE!" Housewarden Kalim yelled at the other side of the coliseum as he tends to the injured along with Jamil, carrying a first-aid kit towards them.
"Pomefiore, here as well" Housewarden Vil bandaged Epel's injured leg after trying to save Ace from falling through one of thoselarger cracks than are quickly forming across the earth.
"Ignihyde Present" Housewarden Idia made sure Ortho wasn't too damaged from getting most of their dormmates out of the dorm.
"Diasmonia all complete" Housewarden Malleus brushes a few strands of hair from Silver's forehead. Silver went unconscious after falling through a crack and hit his head pretty badly.
Half of the students were severely wounded from the earthquake. Blood dripping from their forehead, wincing at the alcohol being dabbed on their wounds. Some were unconscious and had to be carried delicately to avoid further damage to their bodies and injuries. The Housewardens were not getting much better than the others, the Professors were doing everything and running around to hand necessities and materials over to the rest of the kids.
"That wasn't a normal earthquake" Riddle hissed at the alcohol used on his injury.
"It's seismic activity is too weird to be caused by a natural phenomena, I have analyze it and what I found doesn't make any further sense" Idia sputtered. His hands still shaken from what almost happened.
"That isn't a surprise, earthquakes don't just sprout rocks and forms cracks out of nowhere" Leona growled. Clearly upset at the fact he almost let someone, specifically Ruggie, get hurt and almost got killed during a crisis.
"We have sent word to emergency services, they'll be here in about 2 hours-" Professor Crewel declared but was interrupted by an angry Vil
"TWO HOURS!? There are students in near death conditions, we are barely healing them and NRC's emergency first aid will run out in just minutes-" Vil barked as he held Epel close with Rook offering a comforting pat on the back, trying to ease his Queen's terror.
"I know Vil but we can't rush them....other areas, including RSA, were affected too" Crewel's eyes were filled with somber sadness when he said it.
"And base from the reports and messages from the faculty over there, their doing much worse than us" Professor Trein walked towards them and handed Azul a fresh coat of blankets to given to shivering Octavinelle students.
"How worse? Some of my siblings and cousins are in RSA!" Kalim gulped, shivering at the thought of anyone he loves and cares about hurt.
"Their entire school is reduced to rubble but thankfully no one was hurt" The History Professor offered a reassuring smile to the Asim Heir. Kalim just nodded but wasn't reassured in the slightest.
Jade Leech, his uniform a bit torn and dusty but overall okay, took the blanket from one of the Professors and asked "I don't mean to be a bearer of bad news but what do we do with that rectangular light up in the sky?"
Every person who heard what Jade inquired couldn't help but look at the ominous light and shivered in fear. It appeared right after the earthquake as if it was a sign of the end of the world. It was high up for anyone even with a broom to fly up to but also large enough for everyone to see. The staff explicitly forbade anyone from going near it, especially Draconia who insisted on investigating it. They can't risk anything right now.
"We should just wait for the rescuers....it's the only thing we can do now" Riddle whispered the last part but everyone heard him and their eyes either lowered to the ground or just looked around at the coliseum that now became an emergency location as it was the last, seemingly okay, building in campus that hasn't been damaged too extensively.
?????? LOCATION
"An earthquake? Really _______?" A tall figure questioned the person before her as they watched two universes from where they stood. Not at all amused or angry at the destruction that the shaking caused to both the environment and people, she was used to it.
"I am a person of drama ______, I live for people's reactions" The individual hummed as he zoomed in the Twisted Wonderland World where RSA students with severe injuries have been the first to be carefully transported.
"At least they didn't kill him! SHE wouldn't want the characters to be dead after all" A small girl skipped into view, munching on the cereal she found.
"Relax, I'm not crazy enough to anger HER" They giggled. Fingers tapping on the glass showing them the universes they invited.
"So which is next?" The 40 something year old man suddenly asked from where he sat at the far corner of the room, casually drinking wine with zero enthusiasm.
"SHE gave us a list, let's see..........oh! This is will be fun to see" A young boy brought out a scroll and opened it. The individual read the list shown to him and smirked.
With a snap of their fingers, earthquakes, stones and cracks made way to the worlds.
