During a visit to Ruatha Hold, where Zuko gets to meet Sharra, a number of his blue dragonlings get his attention and lead him out of the Hold.
He soon finds himself responsible for a Threadscored man, newly down half a leg, barely a turn or two older than himself who’d been on ground crew, and two holderless teens who had been hiding in a care and startled the elder into stepping into a thread burrow.
Jaxom offers support and Zuko gets all three into a Craft. TheThreadsored man is sent to the Healer Hall to recover and spends time enough with the Harpers, copying records for Harpers and runners, learning healing through proximity, learning cooking for variety. Keeping busy and learning his new limits.
The teens are siblings and want to either learn the same Craft, or complimentary ones. They start at Harper Hall, to be sure of their lessons and writing, before opting to both learn healercraft.
Zuko, of course, visits them whenever he can. With these three he’s taken responsibility for, he also studies local healing techniques and gets his skills tested for a near journeyman level. With time spent frequently at Fort Hold, despite many visits elsewhere, he walks the tables as a journeyman Healer.
During his visits, Zuko also gives the three their own eggs, helping through the impressions and warning them about the six to eight month mark to let him know as soon as they start seeing sparks.
The Thread scored man, Thomas, teaches the dragonlings about record keeping and is eventually lured to the Fort wher hold and meets Forsk. Through the dragonlings' encouragement, he gets permission to try impressing a wher.
Kenna and Samavin, the previously holdless siblings, get Searched before long.
Luduth, senior queen of Fort, requested Zuko’s presence to check her eggs when they appeared to have grown lackluster. Margarita could get nothing from her beyond that it would help. Zuko, upon checking the eggs, learned that Kittith and Melusine had conspired to get his potentials appropriate dragons.
Soon enough, Zuko sat in the stands at Fort Weyr and watched Kenna Impress Hareeth, (hindi, green) a green with irregular white stripes from nose to tail, with wing sails fading to white at the the edges, and Samavin, S’vin, to Neelath (hindi, blue), a blue with bands of white at the base of his neck, legs, tail, and at his ankles, mid neck, mid tail, and mid body, such that with wings tucked to body, the band is even, but wings spread is a ragged stripe of white across them.
N’ton keeps Zuko informed of these two weyrlings, and Zuko insists that they don’t chew firestone. And that the pairs should meditate. When Kenna and S’vin report to N’ton that Hareeth and Neelath have been throwing sparks, Zuko comes to stay, with his fair, to teach them proper fire bending. They graduate and join their peers passing fire stone, though they also sear any Thread they come across, as Zuko has deemed them good enough for that, as long as they don't go out of their way.
Thomas takes the egg given to him and Zuko is becoming very concerned/wary of the sudden number of larger dragon species eggs he’s coming across that need his healing. Brown Thosk hatches well enough, with white streaking from his mouth like blood from a feeding of fresh meat. Thosk also supports Thomas in moving around as he grows large enough to support his weight.
