Even if I sleep in infinity

Don’t leave my universe

-My Clematis, ALNST

The sun was out shining in the Anakt Gardens, and somewhere in the meadow, 2 girls chased each other between the scarlet flower blossoms. The pink haired one giggled as they reach the stream.

“Welcome Sua, to my humble resting space,” Mizi sighed happily, falling onto the grass, pulling on Sua’s hand, urging her to join her.

The black haired girl sat, but there was a slight hesitation in her movement, like she was not yet ready to take in the sheer beauty of the place.

“It’s nice,” Sua said, smiling.

She wasn’t lying. The lush canopy of the tree beside them offered shelter for the sun, but just there was just enough space between the leaves to bath both of them in a scattered golden glow.

Mizi pushed her glasses up her nose, laughing all the while.

“I wanted to show it to you. I thought you’d like it.”

Sua laughed back.

“I love it.”

Her hands caressed the bud of a nearby flower, her fingers running along the edge of the petals. It was small and precious, too pure for the place that they were living in. Mizi laughed again, wrapping her arms around Sua’s middle. She too grabbed a flower, before violently pulling it out of the ground, the stem ripping though the petals stayed untouched. On her collar, the color beeped a bright green. The color of joy and jubilance.

“It’s so cute!” Mizi squealed, twirling it around in her hand," Just like you. An adorable little flower.”

In one fluid motion, she tucked the flower behind Sua’s ear, before giggling at her.

“So adorable…”

Sua’s fingers came up, brushing the flower in her hair. She could feel the corners of her mouth coming up to form a crescent moon, though a part of her weeped when Mizi pulled the flower out of the ground.

“Do you want me to make you a crown?” Mizi asked, buzzing with excitement.

She raised a hand and ran it through Sua’s short black hair. Untangled and shiny.

Sua stared at her hand.

“A crown?” Her voice was quiet but strong, her lilac eyes shining.

Mizi nodded ecstatically. She could already see it, the flowers bright against Sua’s inky locks. She brushed the grass off her pristine white dress as she stood, gathering the flowers around her, making sure the stem was long enough to be woven together.

Sua watched her intently, watched the curl of Mizi’s fingers as she grabbed the anemones, the flow of her long pink hair in the breeze. She was beautiful, just like the flowers that she picked. Sua picked at the hem of her skirt, smiling to herself, just as Mizi plopped down beside her once more.

“You wanna lie on my lap?” Sua asked.

She wanted to feel the weight of Mizi’s body on her legs, a solid reminder that her safe haven was still there. That not all was lost just yet.

Mizi lowered her head onto Sua’s lap, weaving and looping stems together, while Sua played with Mizi’s hair.

Sua hummed while Mizi talked. She talked about Earth, the night sky, the songs that were sung during their last class and the songs that they were yet to sing. She talked about her hopes and dreams, about fame and friends. She talked about a bright and happy future. Sua listened. It was their secret language.

“Done!”

Mizi carefully placed the crown on Sua’s head, admiring the way it made her purple eyes pop. She looked like a goddess of springtime, like the ones that Shine read about at story-time, back at home.

“You look pretty!” Mizi said, and she meant it.

Sua looked surprised.

“I…do?”

Mizi bobbed her head. She needed Sua to know how special she was. How much she meant to her.

“You look like…a princess.”

“A princess?”

“My princess.”

Mizi let Sua pull her into a hug before they both lay down in a heap, staring up at the blue blue sky and the shining sun.

Somewhere in the distance, children were singing.

The stream babbled.

They lay in silence, detached from the rest of the world, just 2 bodies entwined for infinity.
