Podficcer's Notes

I am not the author of this work! I am simply narrating it (but I guess I was too shy to announce myself on the podfic itself). In addition, this podfic is lightly adapted to change most of the first person pronoun to "the author", but not in every case.

There is a section of the work not included in the podfic: a list of linked podfics that contain examples of how the given podficcer approached describing images, italics, and/or emojis in their audio. You can navigate to the original text via the 'Inspired by' link or otherwise click here for easy access.

The irony is not lost on me that in order to podfic this work, I had to decide how to convey the three emojis present in the work: o_0, ^_^, and ;-). For the first instance, which shows up in the work's title, I just went with a description of the emoji. "Wide-eyed emoji." It feels rather dry to describe it as such, but the narrated text is a guide, so it works fine enough. I did the same for ;-).

For the ^_^, which follows the 'Emoji' heading, I tried to implement the work's advice by substituting the dry description for something more fun and expressive, resulting in a pitched-up "yippee!". Fun, yeah?

I also had the opportunity to tackle two small footnotes here, and was content to just say, "as a footnote" at exactly where the footnote number was placed in the text. I probably could've handled the second footnote better, as I kept it sandwiched between a sentence, and by the time we reach the end of the footnote, it's like, What was the original sentence talking about?.

At 5:37 of the recording, I mispronounce fond as found. My apologies! It happens. I'm thrilled the pod turned out; I was just really craving to both read and podfic something, and reading aloud helps me process things better. This was mostly a cold read, if it matters.
