Work Text:
"I have no other choice. I will call your parents and this time, your aunt can't back you up"
The principal makes a decision. Changbin, in her office, tries to argue but she already takes the office phone on her table and presses the numbers that appear on her monitor screen.
Finally, I got you, Seo Changbin. The principal cheers in her head without showing it on her face. Ever since this student and his aunt embarrassed her in front of other parents a month ago, she couldn't help but observe Changbin a bit more intensely. She tried to find any problem he could cause so she could scold him in front of his parents. It took her quite long to finally find a mistake, and now she is more than enthusiastic to meet his parents.
About 15 minutes later, the secretary opens the principal's door and there she is, the most beautiful woman in the world, with her bun hair, walking in. She is really beautiful, even the principal admits it quietly in her thoughts. She looks so sweet and classy, maybe the principal can make her apologize for Changbin's behavior. The principal is about to celebrate, but then she sees Changbin's father walk in after his wife. What is he doing here? It's in the middle of the weekday, most likely he is supposed to be at work.
Changbin sees his father as well and he heaves a relief sigh. The principal captures that. Huh, his father might back him up like his aunt. I won't let that happen. She monologues, while externally inviting Changbin's parents to take a seat. Jisung notices a vase of fresh tulips on the principal's desk.
"Wow, these are so pretty" he innocently comments. The principal almost loses her revenge for a moment because she is happy with the compliment, but before she can react, she sees his wife sending him a sharp glare.
"Prettier than me?" She asks, icy-cold. Jisung and the principal's eyes widen like plates, catching off guard instantly while Hyunjin turns her body to face her husband, putting her hands in her jorts's pockets.
"Are you here to flirt with the principal?" She adds, it feels like her sudden anger chills the whole office as well. Jisung is too stunned to speak, but Changbin gets his back as he stands up and hugs his mother's arm.
"Mom, dad is just considering the flowers he wants to buy for you, that's all" he says with full sweetness and adore, almost sounds like an aegyo. Hyunjin looks at her son right away, smiling sweetly.
"Really? That's sweet" She calms down right away. She still sends a death glare once again to Jisung before she sits down on the seat her son offers softly. Jisung heaves a deep sigh of relief, touching his chest to check if his heart is still beating. In the meantime, the principal freezes.
What the hell just happened?
That was so random yet so scary at the same time. Did Changbin's mother get jealous and mad because her husband was praising flowers? She needs to blink back to reality when she hears Jisung ask 'what happened?'. She clears her throat right away, gathers her confidence quickly before it falters.
"I'm sorry I have to invite both of you to my office today. But unfortunately, Changbin had a breach of a code of conduct which I need to report to you about. The discussion is just to make you understand that our decision or judgement is based on how severe he broke the rules" the principal explains, trying to be as professional and cool as possible. She can't believe her dream has finally come true after a month of finding Changbin's mistake. She finally gets to do this.
Suddenly, Hyunjin grabs a tulip by its petals and takes it out of the vase, holding it like a weapon to beat someone.
Changbin screams, immediately jumps off the chair and hides behind his father. Jisung flinches and leans away from his wife, trying to calm her down but he stutters embarrassingly. The principal startles, almost jumps off her seat as well out of surprise. Hyunjin barely does anything.
"M-My love, put that down-" Jisung stammers nervously. His wife shakes her head without looking away from the principal.
"No, it's okay. Tell me what's the problem, principal" the icy-cold tone in her voice appears again. The headmaster can feel her heart stop in fright.
"Mom, I was innocent!" Changbin shouts in fright, holding his father's shoulders so strong that they might break. Jisung screams in pain, tries to set himself free from the grip. It's already too chaotic, the principal hasn't even reported the offense yet. She starts to hesitate, the confidence and determination are long gone now.
"Uhm...h-he was..." At this point, she doesn't even know what she is about to say is even a breach of a code of conduct. But there is no turning back. She has to say it.
"He left his class 15 minutes early to go for soccer practice when all players are allowed to leave the class 10 minutes early" brace herself, she speaks so clearly and calmly. Hyunjin stuns, her gaze turns into a glare.
"What" she says, a command to repeat.
"We can't stay here" Jisung surrenders, immediately gets off his seat before him and Changbin scatters out of the office. The principal widens her eyes, panic. From her peripheral, she sees Hyunjin grab the tulip so strong, she crushes the petals in her hand.
"You call me all the way here just because my son missed 5 minutes of his class?" Hyunjin asks as she stands up, flinching the principal. The latter stutters but no words come out, because she has no idea how to defend herself. Hyunjin looks away as she blows a sigh, calming herself down but then she sends a death glare.
"What subject? Did the teacher complain?" She tries to make the report make sense. The principal swallows the lump in her throat. She is so doomed.
"There wasn't any teacher at that time-" she interrupts herself with a flinch when Hyunjin walks away.
The sigh doesn't work, she needs to calm down. She walks around the office and suddenly she opens a drawer, leans her head towards the space and
"AAAHHH!!" She screams out of frustration, shrieking like a pterodactyl and closes it again, and whips it with the stem in her hand. The principal screams just as simultaneously out of surprise, and she jumps off her seat to hide behind the chair when Hyunjin approaches her, pointing out the tulip like a gun.
"You better have an explanation to set up my boy like this" she threatens but luckily Jisung and Changbin already enters the scene to take her away. They pulls her hand to leave but Hyunjin is stubborn to stay. Another chaos scene unlocked.
"Ms Principal, explain-"
"My love, come on, let's go. Ms Principal, I apologize on behalf of my wife and son! We'll discuss some other day!"
"Mom, calm down. Why are you crushing the poor flower?"
"Well, I can't crush you, can I? Is that even a question?"
And the door shut. Silence takes over.
The principal freezes behind her chair, stares at the entrance just in case the crazy woman comes in again. Now she remembers why Changbin's aunt said that she should be grateful that his aunt was there instead of his mother.
Because that woman is one hell of a maniac.
- The End -
Bonus :
Miran, Yoochan's mother aka the one who can't accept that she loses to Changbin's family wealth sees Changbin's family at a shopping mall one day. She knows now that if she can't beat them, maybe she can approach them. Be close friends, and maybe Changbin's mother can introduce her to Donatella Versace. So, she tries to approach them, walking towards the family from behind when they are at snack shelves but then she startles when Hyunjin speaks up.
"Hey! Hey! Nu-uh!" She scolds firmly, glaring at her youngest son who walks toward the cart with a can of cola in his hand. Chan freezes, his face turns pale right away and he reciprocates his mother's eye contact.
"My little superman, you should drink a cola or you shouldn't?" Hyunjin asks. Jisung and Changbin seem to focus on anything else around the area, decides not to interrupt anything. Chan's lips are already quivering, having the urge to cry but it doesn't work on his mother.
"Should or shouldn't" she pressures him, only then he looks down, surrenders.
"Shouldn't" he mumbles weakly.
"Exactly" she says, adds with a calmer nag. "I didn't even let you drink soda, and now you want to drink a high-caffeinated one. Go put it back"
"Okay" Chan gives up, but as he is about to turn around, he sees his big brother holding a laugh. He sends him a glare.
"Hyung, can you put this back for me?" He requests, handing over the cola but their mother is faster to answer that question.
"You don't have hands? You don't have legs? Is that the manner I taught you?" She sends a sharp glare again to the little boy. Chan gives up once again and wants to walk away, but Changbin instantly offers himself to go with him. The brothers leave while holding hands, walk passed Miran without even noticing her there because they are busy talking.
"Mom has short temper, hasn't she?"
"Mommy? Yeah" Chan nods. Changbin chuckles and just caresses his little brother's head with his free hand as both of them leaves the aisle.
Miran decides not to say hi, just to avoid the possibility of her getting scolded by the beautiful woman.
The End <3
