JULY 17TH XXXX
Two Time had been dreading this day. They were told by their mentor — Amarah — that Azure was No longer devoted to the mighty spawn, therefore he must be sacrificed, and that his sacrifice would let them take a step closer to their second life.
They were the most devoted member of their religion (aside from the priests) which caused them to gain the nickname “Spawn’s Seraphim” as most members were fully convinced they were an angel sent to them by spawn to help spread its words.
Due to their undying devotion, they went along with the whole “Sacrifice Azure” thing. Though, they have been fearing this day as Azure was their best friend, their lover.
“All in favor of the spawn” They whispered to themselves as they sat on their prayer mat in their messy dorm. Pillows were scattered everywhere while vases with flowers from Azure filled their shelves. Soft, dim fairy lamps lit the room, along with jasmine-scented candles that Azure had made for them.
They had agreed to meet in the nightshade field where they shared their first kiss, the same nightshade field where they went on their first picnic, the same nightshade field where they shared prayers for the spawn together. Two Time figured it would be more merciful to let Azure spend his last moments in the place where they shared their most special memories together
Azure was one of the village’s most beloved people, he helped people when they fell ill. He was extremely knowledgeable when it came to plants, herbs and natural remedies. He knew almost all members of their religion, as he also ran the only flower shop in the village.
Azure was infatuated with Two Time since they first met. He eventually worked up the courage to confess his feelings to them in the very same Nightshade field. They have been dating for 4 years.
Azure was in his flower shop, preparing a bouquet of flowers. “Bittersweet Nightshades, Purple Hyacinths and white roses” He made sure he had every flower on the list. Two Time asked Azure to meet in the Nightshade field where they shared their most precious memories together. He didn't know the reason behind their request, but he decided to take this opportunity.
He made bouquets for Two Time countless times before. Flowers were his specialty, after all. But this one was different. Azure made this bouquet especially to ask for Two Time’s hand in marriage.
Azure looked at the small pocket watch that sat in a flower pot full of vines. It read 8:34 P.M, him and Two Time agreed to meet at 9 so he had to get going.
Once he got there, Two Time was already standing in the middle of the field, staring into the sunset. Azure stood there, admiring how the warm sunlight shone on Two Time’s soft features.
“Hello, my Nightshade,” Azure said, smiling with the bouquet in his hand. “Have I kept you waiting for long?”
Two Time didn't reply. They didn't look Azure in the eye. Azure’s smile faltered for a second, and he smiled again. He slowly approached his fragile lover in the middle of the field.
“You look beautiful in the sunset, my dear.” Two Time’s grip on their dagger tightened, and Azure’s eyes traced downwards to see the Ghostfire dagger in their hand.
“What…What made you bring your dagger today, my dear…?”
Two Time took a deep breath, turned around and pushed Azure onto the ground.
“AGH!- Timey, w-what is going on…?”
Two Time’s face was full of sorrow, they were crying. “I am so sorry, my dearest!” Two Time said loudly, in tears before raising their dagger and-
A portal opened right next to them before they could do anything…?
A hand came out of the purple-ish pink portal and snatched the dagger out of their hands.
“W-what…?” Two Time stared in awe, their breaths uneven and tears still running down their face. Azure stared at Two Time's face, heartbroken. He didn't know whether to comfort his dearest or to scream at them for attempting to kill him.
They had a fight a few days ago, but Azure didn't think they would try to end his life. After all, they were his nightshade and he loved them dearly.
As for the portal, a woman came out of there. She had short brown hair and wore a long black robe, she had red marks on her face and she looked rather…annoyed.
Azure looked up at her and went “Who are you…?” which caused her to look at him, still with the same annoyed expression.
“My name is Cinder. And you two are Azure and Two Time, right? Well, regardless of your names, you Two are coming with me now..”
A tall beast-like bunny figure had stepped out of the portal a few seconds later. After finally being able to stand up straight from ducking out of the portal, she was much taller than cinder. Once she stood up, this gave azure and Two Time a better look at her.
Her legs were covered in scars and her left food was wrapped in bandages, she wore a long dress-like robe that had openings on the shoulders, cut outs on the hips where her rabbit looking bipedal legs stook out, the back piece of the dress was longer than the front and was dark and worn out on the bottom,and she wore a hood with two holes on the top where her ears stood out of.
“And I am Zolistar, but please, call me Zol.” she said while placing her claw on cinder's shoulder gently
Cinder looked at Zol’s claw and then at her face “...Zol, what did we say about touching…?” Zol quickly takes her hand off of Cinder, rubbing her hand as her ears drooped.
Cinder sighs and looks back at the 2 cultists on the ground. Azure had gotten up into a seated stance and Two Time stayed in the same position they were in.
“We’re getting you two out of this cult.” As soon as Cinder finished her sentence Two Time sprang up and yelled at her angrily “Our religion is not a cult!” Cinder scowled at Two Time's words. She knew there would be some obstacles when trying to help them regarding their beliefs. She stuck her hand into her robe, and took out a blue-to-pink gradient crystal, she pointed it towards Azure and Two Time and they started…floating…? Azure was confused, scared and fascinated at the same time. While Two Time was just…absolutely mortified.
“Woah…how can you do this with such a small gemstone…?” Azure looked at the crystal in Awe as he floated in the air. “W-what kind of witchcraft is this…! The spawn wouldn't condone such curses…!!” Cinder looked at Two Time, completely unfazed “Spawn isn't real, but you aren't ready for that talk yet.” Two Time looked personally offended and they opened their mouth to speak again but they noticed Zol gesturing for them to keep their mouth shut, and so they did.
Cinder moved the crystal in her hand towards the portal, moving both Azure and Two Time into the portal, following behind them. Zol was the last one to step through the portal, but before she placed her other foot in, she looked around the meadow and snagged a nightshade and stuck it in her chest fluff and finally stuck her other foot in.
On the other side of the portal, there was a forest. It looked beautiful. Crystals and flowers were surrounding the roots of the trees, Vines dangled from the tree branches. The vague sunlight reflected on the crystals making them look like they were glowing.
“W-where are you taking us..! We aren't allowed to leave the village grounds without permission!” Two Time stated firmly, gripping onto their scarf as they floated in the air. “Well too bad because you have no choice.” Zol was behind them, so she quickened her pace and added “We’re saving you, how about you thank us?” Zol twitched her ear in frustration. She kept her gaze on Azure and Two Time.
After a solid 10 minutes of walking in the thick forest (and listening to Two Time talk about how this is unacceptable and answering Azure’s questions), they reached a cozy-looking cabin near a clearing. It was made out of Spruce wood, vines were hanging over the only door.
“Zol…why didn't you trim the vines like I asked you…?” Cinder asked, slightly irritated but still calmly. Azure watched as the two interacted in front of him and his…lover…He was hesitant on whether he should even trust them anymore. He loved them dearly, but killing him for the ‘spawn’ made him…doubt his love for them.
He didn't notice that the strange woman had brought them inside the cabin. She slowly lowered the crystal in her hand and until Him and Two Time reached the ground.
“Uh…ma’am…? What exactly is this place?” Azure asked hesitantly. He was really interested and everything, but all the places he’s ever been to in his whole life were either his…father’s old house or the cult’s village. He would be lying if he said he wasn't scared.
“This is our house. Make yourself at home or…whatever…” She replied while taking off her robe. She pointed at a little bookshelf in a corner, it had…beds…in it? “This is where you two will be sleeping I guess” Azure nodded and then he checked behind him to make sure Two Time was still there. They were staring at him while burying their face into their scarf, they immediately darted their eyes away from him once he looked at him. Azure frowned at their reaction.
Oh boy. This is going to be a wild ride.
